From the first pic. It looks like Bane will lead a pack of mercenaries and he seems to be standing on top of the Tumbler.

Hoping they use him for his intellect and fighting ability, unlike his previous incarnation... *headache*

The question with the last picture is whether or not the bridesmaids are part of the movie or are simply mundanes going to a wedding next to the shoot.

It reminds me when anime cons were still small enough that the hotel still had other events going on such as weddings. Don't remember which con that was, maybe the first Anime Central.

Doesn't look promising. However, the pics of the Joker for the previous movie also didn't look very good and I ended up liking him just fine.

Well if he's leading a small army it's got to imply that he's using strategy. As for him on top of the tumbler, maybe Bane used his connections with the League of Shadows to steal the blueprints from Wayne Industries and built himself his own version of the Batmobile to terrorize Gotham with.

Major point in this movie's favor already: no big, glowing button on his chest for Venom injections. Or rubbery green skin. *shudder*

Dr. Bane Lecter, brought to you by the makers of Hobo Joker. ... Yeah, not so much.

The really ironic thing is that Bane is a stupid character anyway - I mean, seriously, steroidal luchador criminal mastermind, what? - and yet the prospect of a wholesale revamping of his personal style... doesn't make him in any way more appealing.

Ah, well. The whole Nolan Batman franchise has been one big writeoff for me anyway. Just have to bunker down and wait for the next revolution of that particular cultural wheel.

I don't see how they could not present him as smarter this time around. Even from the little teaser you could see Bane got Batman wet (which could weigh him down at the least and possibly screw up some of his gadgets) in an enclosed area (to make him less likely to play cat and mouse or even escape) while his men have guns trained on him as they fight in hand to hand combat.

Here's a few more

Ban tossing a ripped up photo of, I think, Harvey Dent

Photo of some extras on set dressed in Gotham Corrections Prison uniforms. I'm guessing the script will borrow elements form KnightFall. Bane probably using the mercenaries and his version of the Tumbler make an attack on Gotham Prison and free some prisoners.

Was Acen 2.

And talk about "freaking the mundanes".

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

It's not the greatest mask ever, but the general public will probably take it more seriously than they would a luchador mask.

I was thinking about the cons I attended. Beside the wedding reception the first Anime Central did have some kind of Nun's convention going on at the same time at the hotel. Also ADV happen to be advertising their latest Evangelion DVD hard with posters plastered everywhere featuring Lilith nailed up to the cross in Central Dogma with the lance stuck in her side.

It made an interesting ice breaker.

I don't care for it either. If it at least had red goggles attached, I'd probably like it better.

But I really hated the way Joker looked in the last movie, too, despite liking the character. So perhaps the character will be done well enough that I can forgive the mask.

I like the look, digging the coat.. But it doesn't feel like Bane to me. Hopefully it'll look better once it's in motion.

Given how the coat looks, I suspect that this was the crew blocking out the scene and rehearsing. Note the rest of the people in these pictures, looking unconcerned and talking. If this was actual filming, they'd be reacting in some way or another to the character, but that's clearly crew closest to him.

Early days.

which reminds me of the fact that about a month ago, While I was at origins The State Democratic party convention was going on in one of the smaller ballrooms in the convention center with The Vice President speaking. The looks that the Secret service gave to the cosplayers and LARPers was quite interesting.

Not much "action", really.

Are those diesel engines? They sound like they might be.

According to the poster of the video it is a Chevy big block v8.

What do you mean no action? Didn't you see it go over that speed bump?!?

Hrm. I'm used to hearing more of a throaty rumble from a gas-powered V8. Maybe it's the sound quality of the recording (or an artifact of whatever exhaust system they're using), but those engines had the sort of rattle-cough I associate with diesel engines.
