The idea being that if society wouldn't fight all the dang time, maybe it'd prosper and do good things(tm).

Of course, there's always flies in the ointment... and the new Avatar will save the world. Again.

/hope it's good, but lightning twice...

August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.

Bah! Anybody who hasn't bought the whole series on disc isn't a true fan.

Ok, at the risk of being slightly negative... the animation doesn't look as good. And I do mean the animation, not the character designs or anything. It seems a bit... choppy.

That said... I will be anxiously awaiting this.

That may not be the problem of the actual on-air animation's problem, but the codec for the video teaser. We won't really know until we see the finished product.

Speaking of which, do we have a launch date yet?

Nicktoons plays the entire series every month. No need for Netflix or DVDs.

Actually, Night did alright. Not great, but alright. Helps that he and his kids are fans of the series. Though there were certainly some glaring inconsistencies/errors, but overall, he did alright.

This trailer looks very, very good. I do have two concerns, though.

One, it's very anime, even moreso than the original series. I worry that may turn off some american fans.

Two, it looks much more adult than the first, which may also limit its fanbase somewhat.

Not that I care; I'm in.

It LOOKs like they may have used work cuts, not finished animation.

We'll have to see.

If he was an actual fan and made it more like the anime instead of that POS he made I would agree with you....

I had the same thought. And I wondered where they would go with a third avatar series if society has advanced so much in a generation. Then I realized they could have a falling away and a apocalyptic society, one where no nation is in control, and a war between avatars has torn all the shiny down. That would be a challenge for the earth avatar to guide to rebuilding, which would be a natural earth theme anyway.

Have they ever discussed doing the full cycle of four elemental avatars?

Well Kora is suppose to be Water nation born. Since Water comes after Air in the cycle it must mean that Aang died some 12-18 years ago. If I remember right they were trying to rush Aang's development which caused him to leave so it may be that Kora is being trained slower. The preview seems to show her water and fire bend.

Also it's been shown that Avatar's have long life spans if they aren't cut short. A hundred years may have passed. With people like Sokka and The Mechanist who can apply the various bending styles as sources of power for devices, society evolving into a "bendpunk" era in that time frame is very possible. Now the story can be about factions using this new "technology" to cause mayhem and possibly war. After 100 years of peace, people may hesitate to believe this new, not fully trained young Avatar warning much like Harry Potter in OotP.

Just guessing.
