Can you do solo task forces now?
can't start them w/o team mates.
Good news is that they don't take so long anymore.
I don't know of any one that can't be done in under an hour anymore if the team so desires.
Speaking of doing TFs solo. I was doing the Tera Volta trial the other night and with everyone having +1 Incarnate with all the other incarnate powers slotted with something I found the reactor to be extremely ridiculous. I mean it's usually boring as all heck, but when the first character to the mob basically takes them all out before anyone else can react at all, well, the standing around doing nothing time got multiplied by 8.
Anyway, I was thinking, while sitting bored in front of my computer, it would be really nice if incarnates could start any task force with any number of team mates, including solo, and that the difficulty settings of the leader would be effective for all task forces because I'd really like to try that at +1/*8 solo.... that is, without begging other players to help me start it and then drop the TF.

They need to reduce the party limits to something like 4 now for most of the TFs. Its much harder to find lower level TF teams than it used to be.
i personally hate looking for pads to start a tf small team or solo
it almost wont matter though cause when freedom hits i plan on getting a few free accounts for buff/debuff bots which can also be used as pads

You can do story arcs and some quasi TF's that you can at least make difficult by forcing them to spawn AV's and upping the spawn size since they follow the story arc spawn rules and not TF spawing.
There is really no reason for the devs to not give us the ability to start a TF solo. People seeking a challenge shouldn't need to gather up 7 other willing souls to start and need 1 other person to be kind enough to log off their toon until your finished with it.

I would imagine the reason is that, storywise, it's meant to be a challenge faced by a team of heroes/villains rather than solo. The fact that players have found a way to circumvent that and complete these challenges solo is irrelevant. You may not care about the story, but the devs do.

People have been saying this for years. The fact that it hasn't happened, while so many other things we requested HAVE happened, suggests that the devs feel that there IS a reason. I don't recall ever seeing a redname explain it, though.

I have a sneaking suspicion players won't be allowed multiple free accounts. Multiple paid, sure, more money for them. But multiple free accounts would be ridiculous.

And it is a good idea. Because I started a 2nd account with a timecard "just for a month/to try" in 2008 and got a couple more cards, then got a lv50 on it I enjoy playing, and it's been an autorenewing account they've been getting $ for for years. People will end up getting 50s on free accounts, some will become badgers, and there's hundreds of them in praetoria they'll at least have to tack GR onto to get etc.

These TFs are only going to get easier and quite frankly, I need something else, other than grinding the same few trials a million times, to do. I want to play my level 50 characters and I personally don't get off on doing the same few missions until I puke, but I still need some type of a challenge.

Oh, and Clark, after I talk to the Commissioner, can you kinda hang around here in Gotham for a bit. I don't need you to help me punch the Joker's face in, but don't go back to Metropolis, til I'm done, mmkay?"

The first person to reply said that TFs don't take as long anymore, did they change something specific that allows them to be completed quicker?

IOs make it so that it's not uncommon for toons have at least some sort of a advantage when exemplared--even if it's only that they have more enhancement than what would otherwise be available via SOs. There're some toons that have specifically designed for malling down to lower level who have a full or nearly full bevy of IO enhancement set bonuses to lvl 24, and who have a number of bonuses that continue all the way to lvl 1.
They split some blue TF that was really long into two parts.
There seem to be larger number of people who run SFs now that the WST, shards, etc have come out. So it seems a lot easier to find people who can run the SFs well and quickly.
And probably some other things as well.

Assuming you have a toon that can do it.
It is my understanding that you need to fill the team to the set minimum and then can have everyone quit but one...who needs to log onto another toon or logout.
Does it still work this way?
I really should check the dates before I respond to a thread that's 6 months old.

Holy cow necro post :O!
Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.
I just reactivated yesterday and was wondering if you can do task forces and trials solo now? I always hated not being able to do them since I don't have time to sit down and play for 6 hours. I know your team can log out and finish it later, but no group of people have the same schedule and spare time.
