Video has been pulled anywhere it has been linked. I think my biggest complaint is it being an origin story. Somebody has also been playing Mirror's Edge.

How come I've seen this advertised as Spider-Man 4 in some places when it's clearly a reboot? o.O

I'm a little put off by Peter's skateboard toting, hoodie-wearing, "disturbed loner" persona. What happened to the nerdy, teacher's pet?

On a different note..... are they going to work in the whole secret agents angle with Peter's parents? That'd be an odd bit of continuity to bring in.

There is sooo much cashing-in in just the teaser trailer, it's just sad. I don't see anything wrong with the original story. I see no need to make it more "hip" for the young kids. It's a live-action cartoon.

It's kinda funny how the comic book movies are already expansive enough that certain directors and actors have had their own "runs" similar to writers and artists to the point where we'll probably be debating with younger generations and folks with different tastes in general about whose run was superior.

I have no particular loyalty to any variant of Spiderman's genesis. With this in mind, let me sum up my impression of the trailer:

meh

There are enough superhero movies coming next year that this one is going to have to show me something different before I get interested. The trailer looks like a Mk 1 Mod 0 excerpt from the studio executive "how to make the youngsters think you're a hip cat" playbook.

I've never yet taken a hit from a bad guy skidding across the floor on his keister.

My wife's first words upon seeing the trailer:
"They'll have to do better than that to impress me."

So... They destroyed an iconic costume for this major piece of suckage... Parts of it look too busy (gloves) to have been sewn by a teenager living at home and other parts (boots) look like different pieces of material slapped together without purpose. The eyes and the externally-visible web-shooters scream Nicholas Hammond. I almost expected a clunky utility belt.

Aunt May and Uncle Ben look too young. Peter is played by a 27 year-old, who looks ok for this first part, but when he's 35 or 36 in the sequels, will he look 17? Not likely.

Mostly what irritates me though, is knowing that my love for everything Spiderman will compell me to see this, no matter how much it bothers me.

The gloves, though, look a bit too '2099' for the Parker Spidey.

Trailer looks pretty cool to me...

Does it look like the exact same thing as I remember from comics back in the day? Nope.

Good! Because I have been there and done that. I have absolutely no problem with a new take on the old story as long as it's good... And this looks like it has the potential to be interesting and entertaining, thus good.

Ugh, I want to give this movie a chance because I love spiderman, but... ugh...

I like the actor, but I just don't see him as peter parker, though good actors can change your mind pretty quick so there's still hope there.

I ended up loving the organic web shooter idea in the other movies, now going back to mechanical shooters just makes them look even worse to me, especially when pete is pulling webs out of his neck...

The costume looks horrible, sorry, but it just sucks. Why change something that isn't broken? The worst part is the damn nikes hes wearing... another promotional tie in maybe?

I'm still looking forward to seeing it and i'll give it a chance, but my hopes are not very high.

What makes you say that?

Now I'm wondering what a Mirror's Edge/Spider-Man game would be like!

I never liked that version of Spider-Man either. I want the Spider-Man who tosses cracks, puns, and insults while fighting. The movies didn't portray him like that, and Spider-Man has been like that.....since forever.

The first batch of Spider-Man films did it some what. He was still a nerd, but there never seemed enough Spider-Man in the Spider-Man movies.

Spiderman was like that, but Peter wasn't. I too would love to see a wisecracking Spiderman, but Peter has always been the shy, socially awkward nerd. The powers and suit were what allowed him to tap into that other side of himself.

I have to say...right now...I dont think the actor is looking like Peter to me. But that could change with the movie.

I actually liked the last 3 spider man movies [maybe not number 3 but still] but this reboot just doesnt seem right in some way to me.

The first two Spider-Man films were awesome. The third one sucked, but so far every third movie in a superhero movie has been a failure (keeping my fingers crossed for The Dark Knight Rises).

Well last to the party again. I like to echo what many felt in this thread, I am just not feeling this movie. Better as a rental than a theater trip.
