I can't wait till Sony loses the rights to Spiderman. And hopefully Marvel Studios can do this movie the right way.

Initial impression
-wtf, did Peter get cast in Twilight?
-why am I looking at a video game?
-why must his origin story be brooding?
As it is, I am not paying money for this, not even check out a bootleg. Some major things need to be done to change my mind...
I actually think they are doing a lot right such as:
- introducing Gwen instead of Mary Jane
- having Gwen's father as a proper filled-out character
- going back to web-shooters
- overall casting
- choice of villain.
I am not that bothered by the CGI. The CGI in the previous movies was mixed and the worst example was the scene just after the death of Uncle Ben. So perhaps they are deliberately avoid lots of shots featuring an unmasked Peter because they look naff.
If it turns out to be just a marketing vehicle for The Amazing Spiderman Game I will be justly angry.
I also wish Marvel could somehow reclaim the rights.

It looks different enough from Raimi's spider-man movies that i'm willing to give it a shot. And the Mirror's edge style trying to emulate how he jumps across the rooftops is interesting. The trailer doesn't look great, but i do not sense great fail in this, only the frustration of fans that: a)this isn't a Raimi movie and b)they're rehashing the origin story again.
I haven't seen how the lizard looks yet, but if he doesn't look like a deranged Power Ranger like Gobby did, i'll be happy.

It'd be really nice if they could stop sucking... I don't even need to watch that to know it is likely garbage what with what seems to be a total misunderstanding of the peter parker character, the wanting to be dark, the super old mother and father, the crappy costume, the ugly looking sets, the obvious not knowing how the powers work, and the awful CG v.v I mean seriously, would it have been that hard to get someone to run around a set in a spider suit that is deigned to look like it is a wall...I can think of a way easily with practical effects. That whole first person sequence is so crappy v.v Why would you end on that...
