You might be a CoH addict if...

So a while back I was watching a rerun of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour and was thinking it would be hilarious if there was a City of Heroes version of Jeff Foxworthy's "You might be a redneck" bit.

So "You might be a CoH addict" was born.

If you've ever set your alarm early on a Saturday morning so you woke up in time to do a task force... you might be a CoH addict.

Well, I'm not sure how to make it into a funny joke, but my computer got fried last week, and despite that I'm currently desperately browsing the CoH forums on the terrible browser on my Playstation 3, trying to sate my appetite for CoH that way. So... yeah. I think that counts as addicted.

I have, in fact, done this.

Count in months instead of years.

If you've ever seen the sun rise while finishing a TF that you started at 9:00 pm.....

(My first ever Posi TF (actually my first ever TF) way back when: I2 maybe? The team broke down and only three of us were left: a tank, my FF/Psi and a pre containment fire controller but we trudged on anyway. Last mission an enemy was stuck in the geometry and we had to get support to help us. It added about an extra half hour onto what was already a 9 and a half hour task force)

So, the hero menu music? Recall that drumbeat near the beginning, before the brass comes in? Yaknow, BUM BUM.... bum, bum, BUM BUM.... bum, bum, BUM BUM.... bum, bum, etc?

Well, today I'm standing at the bus stop on my way home when suddenly I could *swear* I heard that drumbeat coming from somewhere. Look around, can't see anything, I'm kinda confused, wondering if somehow there's actually someone around there playing CoH who left the window open.

Then I spot a guy walking down the sidewalk on the other side of the road with a wheeled suitcase. Turns out, somehow between the pattern of cracks in the sidewalk, the arrangement of wheels on the case, and the exact speed he was walking, the 'thump' of the wheels crossing the cracks *exactly* reproduced that beat. And I mean *perfectly* - exact spacing of beats, exact speed of repetition, everything. And it instantly grabbed my attention, stood out like a sore thumb. For a moment I almost swore I could hear the fanfare starting.

So I guess you might be a CoH addict if you can hear the game's theme music in the thump of a suitcase's wheels on cracks in the sidewalk from across a busy street.

You might be a CoH addict if every time someone uses GA to refer to a state your first thought is Granite Armor?

Yeah... I do that and I live in GA, Georgia not Granite Armor.

I've got one for Double XP Weekend too.

If you've ever used a day of vacation for the Monday after a Double XP Weekend as a "recovery" day... and ended up leveling another character to 50 that you didn't quite get done that weekend, you might be a CoH addict.

If you find yourself standing around with nothing else to do... and you're making one or more of the 'idle stance' poses... with 'animation'...

If you openly talk about your favorite character with people who could not care less about gaming...

/probably others, but these come to mind quickly.

...you find yourself at some social gathering and find the music playing a song you just HAVE to dance to and you find yourself dancing "The Washer(or any of the other dance emotes)"

Yea....sad to say I did this. Though someone at the gathering recognized the dance and came over and started running through the various dance emotes with me hahaha

You might be a CoH addict if you think the location you are at would make a good CoH mission.
