Knew this was going to happen...
so a .1 watt laser weapon + wearable solar cells = uh oh
*sigh*

Hope he doesn't use a lot of hand gestures while talking, or demonstrations could get both very ugly, and very entertaining.
They ALL float down here. When you're down here with us, you'll float too!

I'll take two.

Of course. Absolutely.
A 100 milliwatt (.1 watt) laser may be only 10% of the power output of the laser in the article but it can still blind others. Not sure how wearable solar cells are relevant.

As a portable power source that doesn't need replacing like batteries?
You'd still need a battery pack of some kind to store enough power to get the laser running and wearable solar cells (depending on how enormous and flat you are, as well as how bright the sun is locally) would probably give you a very low up time on the laser. i mean, we are talking about real world applications and physical laws in this instance, which admittedly is not an area where certain posters have much familiarity when they make their proposals. Although Dur did helpfully cut the laser's power usage by 90% for his proposal. That will probably help quite a bit.

Where can I order my own hand laser? For.... home security reasons.... >.>

@Rylas
Kill 'em all. Let XP sort 'em out.

Finish reading the guy's (girl's?) post. He (she?) wasn't saying 'you'd need wearable solar cells', he (she?) was saying 'wearable solar cells (depending on how enormous and flat you are, as well as how bright the sun is locally) would probably give you a very low up time on the laser.' Big difference.

It's only a matter of time before the subject matter I linked becomes extremely viable.

when that 1 watt laser "pointer" came out. Nice hand repulsor adaption though.
Hand mounted laser could be used as weapon
