Please make an alternate way for Tier 3 Incarnate slots ( not Alpha )

Seriously this isn't even funny to me anymore.. I am pretty much under the impression that this latest round of Incarnate stuff has ruined the game I loved for over 7 years. It is NOT fun when you do 29 trials in a row and get an uncommon each and every time. I have been getting uncommons for WEEKS across several different toons and AT's. Why does the Alpha have a way to use Shard and Salvage and the Notice of the Well to get to Tier 3 but the new stuff does NOT.. Why am I relegated to doing the same content over and over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over ( thats 29 overs BTW ) and NOT gettiing ANYTHING I need to advance beyond Tier 2..

And I dont want to hear about Notices turning into threads because I still wont have the rare salvage I need. I dont want to have to run 2-3 Trials a day to get the Emp Merit I need.. PLUS more uncommon salvage PLUS 100 Million influence PER SLot.. PER Toon.. That is NOT fun.. thats WORK and I already have a job.....

Not to mention that I have to play in an lag filled, effects gone mad environment that is hell on my older PC which ran CoH just fine until recently. Now I am playing on the lowest settings and its still slow. Oh and the constant mapserving and disconnecting in the middle of a trial which is OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH so fun. and I KNOW it screw up that whole participation metric which then screws me so I get uncommons... AGAIN...

Im sorry Ive been a loyal CoH fan for over seven years now.. but I do not like what I see happening. I used to get in.. play.. and at least feel like I am making progress when I played.. Now I feel like I am being screwed with when I play.. and that is not fun..

The participation metric doesn't affect *what* reward you get, only if you get a reward or not; if you're getting uncommons then you're hitting the participation threshold.

I've never had good drops, either in iTrials or in the game generally; 2 or 3 purples ever across all my toons and 3 or 4 incarnate rares (no v.rares), so I can appreciate how annoying it is when the PRNG seems to be going against you, but apart from contributing documentary evidence to the devs that clearly shows results well outside of the statistic norms and therefore implies some kind of bug in the reward rolls, there's not much you can do about it other than take the alternative route to Incarnate abilities and spend a fortune to get them.

That's not how it works - there's only one participation line - if you cross it, you get a random roll for any of the 4 types of salvage - if you don't cross it, you get 10 Threads.

While I like the trials I am quite burned out on them. I haven't done one in almost 3 weeks now. Then again most of my SG has been out of game doing other things anyway as we're all mostly burned out after grinding out the 2 level shifts across however many toons they did. I only did it on 2 and not one of them has a VR aside from the Alpha.

I have another toon I'm looking forward to gearing up for the iTrials but I just haven't bothered since I know what I'm in for.

*shrug* End game isn't for everyone. Don't like it, don't bother with it.

While I sympathize (Trials can be pretty bad with lag sometimes), remember that the Incarnate program is VERY incomplete. Half of the powers are unreleased, many of the current Incarnate powers will be changed or have new abilities added to them and there are new NPCs in the works (like the new Astral/Emp Merit vendors in i20.5). The ways to get incarnate powers have changed quite rapidly since the system began. On top of that, there will be many new trials as the program develops, so soon it won't be the same 2 over and over. Also, with the Praetorian Surge stress tests complete, hopefully the data will help the devs so the lag across servers will decrease.

So, in 29 trials and weeks of running those trials, you haven't gotten any Empyrean merits at all? Hmm... Perhaps you should report that to support, as that sounds like a bug.

It takes two common components + one rare component + the tier 2 to create a tier 3 Incarnate power. It costs 8 Emp merits to create a rare component. Therefore, at two trials per day, no matter how bad the luck is with drops, a player can slot up a tier 3 power in four days of playing about one hour per day.

That does not equate to "NOT getting ANYTHING I need to advance" as you put it..

Purchasing Rare/Very Rare components with Empyrean Merits does not cost 100M inf. At a rate of 2 Empyreans per day, you can get a Rare component in 4 days* (less than a week) or a Very Rare in 15 days* (just over 2 weeks). If you've been grinding the trials for "weeks", you should have no problem getting T3 abilities.

The only slot my MM doesn't have a T4 for is Interface and Alpha, and I'm halfway to a second T4 in Destiny. The only inf I spent on my Incarnate-ification was the last few percent of Incarnate xp for my Lore slot.

* It's really 2 Empyreans per 20 hours, so if you're really accurate about it, you could get a Rare in 80 hours (3.33... days) or a Very Rare in 300 hours (12.5 days)

I think I might have spotted the root cause of your unrealistic expectations of the system. I'm fairly sure that the devs didn't intend people to be able to T3 their 30+ toons within a couple of months of the system going live.

Well, when i20.5 hits, you'll beable to obtain more EMerits a day. Like 4-8 a day (I'm not quite sure if you only get one EMerit every 20 hours for joining an open League Trial).

While I wouldnt mind seeing a cost reduction in Emp Merits for rares and very rares, endgame is not meant to be a spot to get all your alts geared out in epics (Incarnate powers in this case). Virtually every MMO with endgame content is designed around the player begining to focus on a few specific toons. CoH already makes it easier than most games to get alts outfitted with the latest content, but expecting to have all your toons outfitted in T3-4 up to Omega is asking a bit much.

I have one main that I focus on gettting outfitted up to T4 on everything, any alts (tank, defender, 2nd blaster) will only go to T3, and only get T4 in any power if I happen to get lucky with a very rare drop. Im also not even considering outfitting any of my other toons unless I suddenly find playing them to be better than my main fire/en blaster.

Flamefrost (lvl 50 fire/ice blaster)
'Snowflake (lvl 50 ice/dev blaster)
Dragons' Flame (lvl 50 fire/fire tank)

It's an Astral, not Empyrean.

My mistake! Still, that's 3 EMerits a day for 3 trials a day.

And like previously mentioned, its not suppossed to be fast an easy to be at the top powers right away (unless you consider grinding to do so easy).

And getting tier 3 is not hard. It's quite easy. I had a tier 3 from nothing just the other day by running 4 Trials and converting 10 Shards to Threads.

Sooooo where is the suggestion? What alternate way are you thinking of? My suggestion to the devs is open a piss and moan forum so people can properly post there when they want to complain about something but don't want to bother to put in the effort on how it should be fixed.

I am aware of one new trial in i20.5 so thats 3 E merits a day. The reward for an open league is one extra Astal merit and I also don't know if that is every run or capped at 1 per trial.
