However, I will wait to see how it plays out in game before thinking negatively on it.

I also still don't get why we're keeping the no capes at level one when we have so many ways to work around that. I'd think it'd be far better to appeal to a new potential player by having regular capes, right there to use at level one when they first log in (without buying any boosters) to make a character.

blah blah blah... done voicing concerns and back to enjoying the game and thinking about the awesome things in that list!
Basically, all of this. I was going to wait until I got my Warshade to 50 to start seriously attempting the incarnate stuff on any one character, but I'm going to have to reconsider that 'cause I want these new shiny things.

Nice catch.

...and yeah, Storm Elementals - I think I have fought them twice in my entire 7 year sub.

Just gloss over the official discussion thread. It's truly glorious.

Holy !@#$. Choice overload? Now I don't know which one to choose!

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

Group Area Buffs?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HOLY !@#$ x 100000

I am so going to play my Ninja/FF again. Now I only need to click once so it's less stressful if they die.

Oh my, I may just make my very first Kinetic because of this. I can't wait. I somehow think aoe Speed Boost is kinda... overpowered? Part of the trade off of having great speed boost is that you need to keep reapplying. It's a pain but it's worth it. Now that they make it AoE, I wonder if the recharge/endurance/value are changed as well?

Zwill has specifically stated that the recharge and end costs won't change. Seeing as he is not actually a powers guy and combine that with the recent its WAI, no wait, its a bug with reactive, I wouldn't get my hopes up too high yet.

Of course, I am pretty sure he would confirm that before he would speak on it with authority, cause that would be either insane, or dense considering how recent the reactive kerfuffle was.

He also explicitly stated that it would not buff the caster.

Yeah, there's an entire ocean of whiner tears forming over there. However, it seems to be a couple of people who are spamming the thread with their tantrum. The majority of people are loving this change.

The AoE buffs is a godsent. I have a Bots/FF MM and on it I only buff my bots at times because of how much I need to keep track of. This will let me set it and forget it.

Woot now it will be so much easier to mess with costume contests with ice shields.

I'm definitely looking forward to this buff; I'm one of the people who finds the constant buff-buff-buff-buff routine maddening. I can typically play my Bots/FF only a short time before having to quit out of aggravation.

If he is right, and it isn't going to affect the end/recharge, then that ends up being a whole bunch of dps for the server to handle, no? It takes a looong time to buff a league with both ice shields, for example. Now you can blast away much more.

Yep. A couple of my SGmates have outright abandoned any notion of buffing during the trials because of it. It's kind of painful to go through 23 people on a BAF for the Siege and Siege+NS phase, and then immediately realize, "Huh...the person I started on has already lost 70-80 seconds of their 4 minutes".

QoL for most, nerf for me. I used to keep shields up *and* blast/debuff without a trouble, now I will have to either stick glued to the team (ugh) or buff significantly less people, even if the recharge stays the same - and I'm doubtful it will.

Complain about teeth gnashing all you want, this change will hurt my performance, so I feel justified in not being doubleplussed about it. I can understand why it was done - not only the current mechanics of buffing annoy a fair amount of people, but for those of us who could buff we're probably getting more out of the powers than what was intended. Making it AoE will even it out.

Hmm... There's a political statement to be made here.

Save for that, everything else ranges from cool to awesome, with the possible exception of the vouchers. One of the cool things of the Incarnate system is that you had to play the character you wanted to incarnate, rather than use your most powerful character to farm for others. It brought a bit more diversity to trials. If the conversion rate with vouchers is too good, this might hurt that diversity. If it's not good enough, the feature will be useless. This is going to be tricky to balance.

Quite. The Astral Merit isn't really pointed imo. They rain like candy as it is. Perhaps an extra E. Merit for the first Random PUG iTrial you do in a day would give it a good incentive, but even that is questionable.

The big problem I feel, still, is that you really can't do anything else while in the queue. And I think it's unfortunate that other 'perks' are getting introduced before addressing the big issue. Since that just makes it harder and harder as the system ages to get folks to use the LFG system once it is in a usable state.

According to Z the costs and recharge will remain exactly as they are. Apparently, you will be able to buff exactly as you do now, but buff everyone in a 30' radius, just 'cause.

I find it a little hard to wrap my head around that, since I think it throws a number of powers from different powersets out of whack with respect one another, but that's what we're being told.

That's reassuring, Uber. I still think I'm going to be hurt in pure buffing power with this change, because typically I buffed people at maximum range with my shields (80 feet) while using the downwards momentum of a long jump to not lose any time. Add to that I play with 200-300ms ping, sometimes get extra "red spike hell" lag for days after patches, and play on a computer that occasionally slowdowns, and this makes catching people in a PBAoE, even a 30 feet one, much harder than simply clicking on their name.

Admittedly, I will get to blast even more than I do now, and that's something positive. I don't want to complain as much as explain my reasons for not being thrilled with this change. Ultimately I get that the needs of many outweigh the needs of a few, and all that, and I guess I'm going to get buffed more by other people who didn't buff as much because they didn't like it, so that's another plus.

Just going to add something here, it doesn't look like it's changing to a PBAoE. It's changing to a targetted AoE. So you should still be able to milk the benefit from your range hopping.

It's not a PBAoE. It's a targeted AoE. As in, the powers function exactly the same, barring that they now explode around your target.

Until I figured out your misunderstanding, I had absolutely no fathomable idea how it was going to slow the process down for you.

Edit: Sniped. :/
