Have you changed your Difficulty as a result of Incarnate Powers?

I'm hearing a lot of folks complaining about the game's lack of difficulty at 45+ due to the new powers available. Certainly the game is VERY easy at +0x1 if you have a team full of level shifts, Destiny buffs, and Judgement AOEs.

My feeling for how difficult the game *should* be is that if I make a mistake, I should have to scramble to fix it if I manage to survive... down half my tray of inspirations... run away from a fight I had been in control of... Nova and hope like hockey sticks that it gives me a chance... or PFF and run away.

I tend not to optimize my builds. I like to slot what drops and don't buy a lot at the consignment house. This means that my characters are less durable than others and that I have to make up for it with skill.

Accordingly, I tend to be happy with an energy blaster at +1x2 right now. I also have a scrapper that works at about +2x2.

Have you changed your difficulty level in response to the new powers? Are you running any TFs at higher difficulty levels?

My difficulty's always being adjusted, and incarnacey's no exception.

I like to run so that I'm at risk of dying, but not doing so multiple times per mission. Being an incarnate has generally resulted in more mobs, and with my level shift came a +1 to the mob levels in my missions.

I liked that I was becoming more powerful, but didn't want it to make my content easier. I just wanted harder content, so I seized it.

I generally play at 4/x2 on my Plant/Thorn Dominator and 4/x3 on my Emp/Dark Defender with my iPowers now.

Unfortunately, I can't turn it up to 11.

I really wish there were larger spawns or something though. Even though the judgment powers can hit up to what, 45 mobs, the spawn sizes remain the same. I would love to have a league on a iTrial run into a spawn of 100 mobs or so, but all we get are spawns of what... 12 mobs or so. Instantly steamrolled by 16 to 24 heroes.

At this point, have you considered solo'ing the Rikti Mothership?

I run all my Incarnates at +0/x8 and farm tips for A-merits and purples to make my next Incarnate.

I said 11, not 12. I'll wait till I have a few more iPowers before I consider that.

I haven't yet, but I'm considering doing so. It would be nice if I didn't have to find a difficulty adjuster, though.

I turned AVs on, just to see if I could.
...I could. It's actually pretty cool.

My MA/SR scrapper only has tier-three incarnate slots. Without using Lore she can still solo the pylons... probably not fast enough to take them all down (I haven't tried). My wife and I can duo GM's on characters with only the Alpha slot equipped-- We haven't tried Lusca yet, but we did take down both Jack and Eochai when they were fighting one another.

I ran that scrapper at +1 x 8 and usually don't need to pause at all between mobs. At +2 x 8, I'm using inspirations and may need to take a knee on occasion. Aside from the caltrop hell of huge mobs of Knives of Artimes, I'm not encountering issues.

...let's rephrase the question then.

How have your Incarnate Powers changed YOU?

i usually always increase spawn sizes first over higher lvl foes

i usually try to stay at +0x8 unless i wanted to do something more challenging like duo a tf

When soloing, I used to run at +0/+8 on my Brute, as that was the optimal setting for drops. It was challenging enough, even thought I could run higher. With Incarnate Powers, though, +0/+8 was trivially easy, so now I run a +4/+8 as a matter of course. Even at that level, mobs like Counsel, Rikti, and Nemesis are still pretty easy. Rularuu, PPDs, and Arachnos, on the other hand, I have to plan a bit before jumping those mobs. Inspiration chugging and retreating are still used aplenty...

I run +1/x5 on my Kat/Regen, though to be fair I run mostly Morality tips, preferring the Knives of Artemis or Rikti ones.

Questions about the game, either side? /t @Neuronia or @Neuronium, with your queries!

I haven't been soloing a lot but I when I have been soloing on my Blaster I generally run at +0/x8 against most groups or a little higher against easy groups.

Well, I like to bring people into an AE mission and farm it for them (Im just there for tickets) and before I was soloing it at 4/8 on my DB/WP Scrapper. Now...

...I'm soloing it even FASTER on my DB/WP

My difficulty setting for solo play was usually 4/8, except for tips which was generally -1/1 (to solo them faster), TFs varied from +0 - +4 depending on the team. I love Posi 1, but I wouldn't want to do it at +4 for instance. ITF will depend on the team, but it's generally +2 - +4 (sometimes I go down to +1, but never 0 anymore).

At the moment it has simply decreased my time to go through +4/8 mobs rather than increase the ease of going through said mobs. I enjoy the "plus" feeling of being 50(+1) since it is meant to incorporate you as a more powerful hero/ villain/ etc.

I miss my Interface rains though, stupid is fun.

My feeling is completely the opposite. I want to have leeway for mistake and a broad comfort zone. There's nothing I hate more than games stressing me out with worry over my every action and pissing me off by cheat-killing me every time I push a wrong button. That's not fun gaming, not from where I'm standing.

Sure, I'm not saying we should be completely unkillable and never stand to worry about failing, but if I do go down, I want to look at it and say "A-yup! I screwed the pooch on that one. I deserved that." rather than "Seriously! You can't be serious! That was on the line! I can't believe this!"

Incarnate abilities have let me run +0x8 on most of my characters, and I freakin's _love_ the mayhem that ensues.

Run through 2 x8 spawns, and they are leaping over each other to get to me, the bosses are causing some real problems and my health is dropping... Boom! Judgement, focus on bosses, pop a green and anything I've just got from the mass death. Wait for Barrier and pop out the pets when freeing a hostage because of the extra bosses... beautiful.

Just wish the sound FX for Ion judgement were better, the "poit" sound is really getting to me now "I was expecting an earth shattering kaboom!" </marvin>.

To be honest, I enjoy fighting fewer tougher foes rather than the huge mobs.

I just I couldn't get a straight answer if higher-than-level-50 minions had better shard drop rates than level 50 minions. I tried a few tests, and just found better rewards running against lots-o-50's. If I hadn't done that, I probably wouldn't have a tier 4 alpha now.

Now that I do, I'll probably reset things to see what I can run on +4 x? on my MA/SR scrapper.

Played for about a week after level shift then bumped up to +1/x3 on my blaster. Fighting blues is boring.

Made for a couple hairy PuG missions & TF starts when I forgot I'd changed 'em. >.<

Nah, I just decided to skip anything incarnate past the Alpha instead.
