I saw this movie in the theatre for one reason and one reason only (apart from literally being DRAGGED out of my apartment to go, kicking and screaming the whole way) - to hear James Horner's score in full-blown THX (and I didn't even have to pay). The best part of the film - I think I sat through most of it with my eyes closed and just listened to the music.

I bought a Nintendo 3DS the day it came out so that should tell you what I think about 3D. Impatiently waiting for 3D versions of Tangled, Avatar, and other good 3D movies to come out on 3DS cartridges or Netflix. However, I find most movies don't need to be made into 3D movies. Assuming it is James Cameron that is directing the 3D version of Titanic, then it could be good, but I won't see it since I haven't seen the original or plan on ever seeing it. Only way I would see it is a future girlfriend or wife drags me to see it because she has a need for a decent Chick Flick.

Meh. 4D is where it's at.

Now don't get me wrong, Titanic is a good movie and all.
The only good areas where the 3D would even be worth the use in is when the Ship's going down.

Though doesn't most tact-in 3D stuff darken the overall color of the film? And the ship sank at night? Not gonna go well at all I think...

Thank you for the time...

At first it seemed like Hollywood was more intrested in the 3d thing then the theaters. But both Thor and now Pirates of the C in my local area have had 3 theaters of 3d showing with one screen of standard 2d.

Personally im considering taking my glasses i kept after tron and trying to buy a ticket for normal costs. They list the glasses as a seperate purchase from the ticket costs so frankly that would emply to me that i can buy a ticket to be in a 3d theater without having to buy the glasses if i choose not to.

What we really need is all the liberal hollywood stars to start saying they wont be in a movie that goes 3d or they get some kinda ungodly bonus to their salery that makes it not worth the money. Base the movement on the waste of natural resources it takes to produce all those glasses that just get tossed.

The problem with retrospective 3D in movies is that you're having to invent information that isn't there. It's not like with HD where most old movies were shot on 35mm film which has plenty of resolution to go back and rescan at 1080p (assuming you have the original still); sure it looks a bit "crackly", but that's film for you.

In order for movies to actually look good in 3D (Not that it's even proper 3D, just stereoscopic) it has to be shot in 3D, otherwise you're just guessing what it would have looked like if you'd done it properly. That said, all the 3D movies I've seen so far apart from Avatar appear to have had half their scenes designed simply to look good in 3D, which means they look really odd in 2D because all this stuff is flying around for no apparent reason.

In other words, 3D movies, on the whole, are a waste of time. 3D versions of movies that weren't shot in 3D, doubly so.

I eagerly await the day when they make the real world in 3D. Just like back in the day when they added color to the world so tv shows would look better.

And yet he made the movie and laughed all the way to the bank.

Thought this would be appropriate.

Ironicly, wasn't it James Cameron who was dissing other producers for turning films into 3D that weren't filmed for it from the get-go.. Then he turns around and does it?

Talk about being a hypocrite.

Technically speaking, all the 2D stuff we've been watching since film started, has been 3D and 3d is Technically 4D.

Time is a dimension, and all these movies exist in time and tell the story over time.

Now 5D is where stuff get's really interesting... Got your inter dimensional glasses and compatible TV\monitor yet?
