Thanks for spelling that out, I never would have gotten the PT Barnum reference without your assistance. Einstein has a quote too....

Well, that particular PT Barnum quote (about suckers being born every minute) is extremely well known.

As to the Einstein quote, I'm not sure if you mean "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe." or "Too many of us look upon Americans as dollar chasers. This is a cruel libel, even if it is reiterated thoughtlessly by the Americans themselves." I'm guessing the first one. I would tend to agree as demonstrated in this thread are people are willing to thank the developers for grossly over-charging them with each successive conversion they put in the game.

The developers want to charge more to convert than doing the associated task in order to provide incentive to do those tasks. In theory, that is great. However, the developers have consistently shown that they rather make conversion rates that people will use rarely.

Will these conversions be used? The Notice conversion might, the Favor conversion is a stupidity tax.

Not at all. Was my favorite thing when I first heard about it

You can craft a notice with enough shards and alpha-level components and inf. If you get enough of those you can get them faster. Its only a 7 day hard limit to get them via weekly strike forces.

IIRC, the reactive DoT didn't work with pseudo-pets at all when I20 went live. It wasn't until a later patch that was fixed, and the "rain of nukes" was apparently a side-effect of that fix.

Each element listed there is independently awarded (for instance, 10 grenades + 30 reinforcements + Marauder = 3 merits. Antacid (which includes 10 acids) + 30 reinforcements + Marauder = 5 merits in total.)

The "standard run" = 4 merits does include the 30 reinforcements merit. (10 grenades + 10 acids + 30 reinforcements + Marauder)
Does getting the sync badge (destroying an acid container and a grenade crate within 2 seconds) still award a merit?

Me to, I have buyers remorse .

That was the sound of something going over your head. You are either A) trolling me or B) god bless you it's almost cute.

I agree with that. 112 would make more sense for Favors. OTOH, stupid is as stupid does.

If they give out more than 2x Notice conversion + 32 threads for Favors, then converting Notices to threads is stupid, you should convert Notices to Favors, then Favors to threads.

If they give out exactly 2x Notice conversion + 32 threads for Favors, then one could bypass the influence costs of converting shards to threads as well as the timer limit. I actually like this option though, because you would be spending time to save influence, which is a nifty idea.

Once again, in case you or anyone else forgot:

If a power is currently operating OUTSIDE of it's planned parameters, fixing it so that it obeys the rules is NOT a nerf, no matter how much people wish it was.

If a power is obviously OP when compared to similar powers, choosing to play it despite knowing it's broke and will likely be fixed at some point is at the player's own risk. Might as well complain about the Devs closing exploit loopholes while you're at it.

Rain powers =/= nukes, and they never should come close, even with Incarnate buffing.

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

Yeah, and that highlights the problem.

4 Alpha common components (16 shards or 12 task forces) + 40 shards + 50 million Inf = 2 common thread components.

Or use the 40 shards to and 10 million Inf over 4 days and build the 2 common thread components. So you spend the time doing 12 task forces and 40 million Inf for nothing.

No matter how you cut it, it is bad conversion rate.

So you guys are basically TURNING OFF INTERFACE IN AoEs until you can FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIX IT.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR YOU TO TURN THEM BACK ON (at the regular proc rate)?

Only is some AoEs. Most AoEs will work just as they do now on live. Only patches, rains, and auras will be single target.

Ah, I missed that part, but sadly my mains aoes are Pseudo pets.

For the sake of humanity I really...really wish you were.

My posts are pretty loud and clear to people with any common sense and knowledge about this game. I am sarcastic with almost all of my writing, but when I do employ sarcasm in my writing it's so far the polar opposite of what I'm advocating it is normally easily understood as such. I didn't need the PT Barnum thing explained considering the context you used it in. To most people with an exposure to famous quotes and critical thinking skills, me name dropping Einstein and alluding to one of his quotes should have left no question as to which it was. You questioned it, where does this leave you? Showing a lack of common sense and critical thinking skills makes it hard for one to take your complaints and criticisms about this game seriously.

Plain and simple a 1:1 ratio for notice:rare is pretty far fetched, even to someone as myself who supports most casual friendly decisions in this game. If you have complaints about this not alleviating a grind in this game then let me explain...

This game does NOT have grinding. How many serious MMOs do you know of where you can log in for 30 minutes and make real progress with high end content? Every day? And not be gated for a week.

Aye, my Emp/Ice uses Ice Storm often. Caltrops and Ice Storm (and Blizzard, but Blizzard kills things without Reactive) will be reduced. But Frost Breath, Acid Mortar, Seekers, and Trip Mines should all function normally.

Also, if it was acting in rain powers like this as a result of a "bug", teach your QA people to not say it's WAI when it's not, kthxbai.
1) Unless I'm mistaken, it hasn't been pushed live yet. Which means the fix can be fixed before it's pushed live, making the bug only affect test. Wow, a power not working right on test! Oh noes, end of world!

2) How do you know what QA was saying? Unless you work there, QA isn't something you'd interact with, and the CSRs can only work off what the developers tell them. And it sounds like a mistaken dev told them it was WAI.

But those don't give Incarnate participation credit...

Oh well.

Hmm, and people are supposed to glean this from your 6 posts not in this thread and the less than a month since you opened that posting account?

Guess I got burnnnnnnneeeeddd not realizing this forum measures your posts not based on it's content or tone, but on the amount of total posts you have! Sorry, I will try to refrain from posting on my secondary account which is almost named exactly the same as my primary!

....really? You pulled the postcount card? I'm just going to ignore you and move on.
