My wife and I love the show, but we're still a couple of season's behind. Hate to see it end, but a 10 year run is pretty impressive. Regardless, I hope Tom lands the new Superman movie that Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight) will be involved in that, hopefully, will began filming around 2013 or so.
I thought Henry Cavill was set to play Clark/Superman in that version. I don't necessarily agree with that casting, but I can see it. That being said, I would totally rather see Tom Welling reprise the role. He is definitely suited for it.
And yes, I agree. I don't want it to end, but I also think they are smart to end it themselves rather than go until they cannot continue. I am crossing my fingers that another good super-powered-being show takes its place in the not-too-distant future.

Sorry this show needs to end. Its suffered from poor writing and acting for some time now. Seriously think about it, we have spent now 20 episodes of this year waiting for a Dark Side battle. We have had 20 hours of TV and gotten maybe 2 crappy cgi shots of DS, introduced 3 villians of his that have had little to no development since introduction and 1 cast member has a omega imprint on their head. That is pretty much all the development they have done to their final seasons story arc in 20 hours. And i thnk about 4 hours had been devoted to weather or not clark should wear glasses or not.
Now because of the need to give a final handy to the fanbois they are taking the last 2 hours cramming into it the return of lex and the final battle with darksied, ya im not holding my breath. Infact im more excited to finally be rid of it. I know i can stop watching but call it a personal defect that i cant give up on a show i have watched so much. I had the same feeling about the last couple years of the Xfiles also. To much time invested to quit it even though it was sucktacular.
But seriously with all the Darksied stuff, they havent even introduced the planet apokolypse at all, not development of his staff or subordinates, no development of his wanting to turn Superman into one of his to control and follow him. Nothing, i mean has the ****** CGI darksied even said a word yet at all? What should have been a epic final season is just going to be a 30 second Doomsday fight again.

Basically Smallville has been trying to be the prequel to the Christopher Reeve movie Superman I. Once Smallville is over I fear that it will be the last rentition of the Donnor Vision.
The Zach version in Man of Steel will be the new version of Superman for the future.
I love Smallville.. both the good and the bad.. its been a long 10 years. I hope we finally get to see him wear the suit and fly away.
Much like in Superman I where Reeves is in the fortress and first flies away on screen.

Some smallville I've loved other parts hated. I honestly thought it was getting better the last few seasons compared to like 6 and 7.
They have 2 hours finale and ya I can't argue there has been like next to no storyline development with Darkseid so my hopes are it's gonna be like a movie. It's pretty much the length of a movie and movies get their story out in that time frame so call me an optmist but I'm really lokking forward to the finale. if only for closure.

The Tess scene was the most awesome action sequence this show has ever had. And, likely, will have tonight. Melodrama reigns in Smallville. Stop talking, start fighting.

I think I stopped watching Smallville around season 4 (or earlier....never followed it religiously but watched it when it came on). Then when I was roommates with my best friend he was watching seasons 5, 6 and 7 I think so I watched a good portion...he stopped watching and so I stopped again too.
I'm glad they're finally getting to the 'good stuff'...but...*shrugs* Took way too long for me.

I have followed this show since since it started (I think I was in 7th grade at the time...whoa). It has gone from the show I absolutely refused to miss every week, to a show I hoped to catch, back to a show I refused to miss, and finally has become a guilty pleasure. I am glad that they are choosing to end it, rather than being forced to end it due to cancellation. 10 years is a great run, I'm excited to see how it ends.
UNFORTUNATELY, I won't be home to see it!! I'm going to have to wait until Monday when it is posted online. I'm sincerely hoping I don't miss anything by having to watch it online and missing the actual broadcast.
Anyone else looking forward to it? Know if there are any special announcements being made? Your thoughts in general?
