For all you could see, Supergirl could have done it. What would have been nice? An epic battle, Superman vs. Darksied and friends. Instead, he fought John Glover AGAIN and pushed a flaming rock off into the sun.

Sadly the cast of Smallville has been the best actors to fit their roles yet had to deal with being in a not-so-much version of the universe. Seriously, let the actors play the roles in a high budget movie and fire the crap writers...

This is one of the things that kills me about Smallville. I *love* Lex. I totally enjoyed Lois. I even usually liked Clark. If this show had been done right, it could have been beyond awesome.

Instead, it was the TV equivalent of blue balls.

Well the "fight" with Darkseid was pretty much exactly what I expected to happen (ie nothing).

Overall the show ended in the exact same way it's been running for years, with a resounding *Meh*

I don't regret my time spent watching it, I even enjoyed most of it, but I long ago came to terms with the mediocre writing and accepted that it would almost always be what it was.

BUT: What's with the 7-years later and just now getting around to doing the wedding over again bit? I mean, they had exchanged vows...technically (by most religious standards) they were married, (and by legal standards) all they really had to do was SIGN THE FREAK'N LICENSE.

Oh well, I guess it's just the "can't have Lois and Clark actually married or it breaks early canon" or something...

Two hrs and not one shot of Justin Hartley shirtless.

For me, the show peaked in Season 4, and had all but died by Season 6. Season 7 was close to unwatchable. Season 8 got off to a decent start and crashed and burned towards the end. I just gave up at that point and haven't watched an episode since.

I thought it was the best Superman TV Series yet. To me the Superman story isn't about satisfying the bloodthirsty needs of viewers. It's about what makes a hero a real hero. Plenty of character defining moments, loved all of it. Will make my kids watch it as an alternative to church (if I have any). Surprised with the end though that it came suddenly and quickly overed and out.

He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.

Perhaps it's because I remember the Adventures of Lois and Clark tv series, or the gods awful Superboy show, but I still loved it

Don't get me wrong. I love Smallville too and I think it was a great show. The first four seasons are among my favorite TV ever. Season 5 and 6 were enjoyable as well, but after that...not so much.

I still liked Lois and Clark more than Smallville. Of course that may just be fond memories since I haven't watched it in years.

Curses! As a Superman fan I kept expecting this show to find it's way and get good! Even up till this last episode and still it let me down. Superman Animated Series captured the character a heck of a lot better. I would love to see him play Supes in a movie, just not this canon. So long Smallville ya gave it your best shot.

See, the thing is, an animated series can do things that a live action cannot for a fraction of the price.
People kept expecting blockbuster quality special effects on a secondary television network budget.

Of course, that's no excuse for why they had Clark mope about Lana for seven seasons...

They could have done the show without the Superman mythos, and it might have been better for me. No lowered expectations needed, no shoehorning in cute little bits and snippets.

Sorry I am late responding to this but I totally agree here. Of the full body shot we did see was actually footage from super man returns put into smallville. They shrunk it down so we could not see his face clearly but you can tell because clark does not have hair like that.

Yeah. Then there would've been NO reason to watch the show.
