Guess they need to make room for more reality shows.

TV today sucks. It's not worth investing time in watching a series that you like, because chances are that it will be cancelled. Personally, I now tend to wait until about 3 or 4 seasons are out on DVD before I start watching a show.

Was holding out Human Target would come back. Breaking In is dumb/mindless, but wasn't bad at all IMO.

With as many channels and shows out there, not to mention the actual methods of watching these shows and other media, the old ways of measuring a shows' worth just doesn't work. A lot of lost potential due to dinosaurs making decisions.

And I'm back to having zero shows on Fox to watch.

This is exactly true. There needs to be a new way to measure and understand viewership. The old is well....old. Not every show should be expected to garner American Idol type numbers. Have seen too many good shows head to the chopping block.

Darn, I liked watching Lie to Me when I caught it.

Of course, stuff like this is the reason the only Fox show I watch is the sacred cow that they won't slaughter...

No, not that show. I'm talking about House.

Dangit I loved Human Target but it had a decent run I guess.

Well there's 3 shows i like gone. I remember the good old days when seasons were 20-23 episodes and the only reruns came in the summer. sigh.

Me too. It's a "big picture" show though that needs time to tell it's story and Fox just doesn't have the patience (or taste) for that.

Human Target has a great cast, but a poorly limiting premise for a series. So did Lie to Me. (Sorry fans of those shows) But both had decent runs considering.

On the plus side, Fox has picked up the new show Alcatraz byElizabeth (Lost and Deadwood) Sarnoff that stars Sam Neill, Sarah Jones, and Hurley, I mean, Jorge Garcia. Produced by J. J. Abrams, the mysterious series revolves around some ex-Alcatraz prisoners who escaped in the 1960s but who show up in 2004. On the minus, it's letting the comic book-based Locke & Key series slip, so unless that gets picked up by another network, it looks like there won't be any adaptations of comics on the air* this fall.

* Broadcast, that is, especially since there are rumors that Wonder Woman is getting pushed back. (Obviously there's The Walking Dead on cable, and no doubt SyFy will try something ill-conceived.)

To be fair, Human Target replaced Bear McCreary with Poochie. Show deserved its fate.

That's what I hate about network TV... shows come and go randomly and there are huge mid-season breaks. I'm actually enjoying Parenthood on NBC quite a bit, but wanted to get caught up on reruns (believe it or not)... yet we get a reality show now in that slot, and its finale was in April, of all things.

Shows get moved around constantly and it's hard to enjoy them because of it. Networks really need to give shows some chances and stop shuffling things around so much.

Guide: Tanking, Wall of Fire Style (Updated for I19!), and the Four Rules of Tanking
Story Arc:
Belated Justice, #88003
Synopsis: Explore the fine line between justice and vengeance as you help a hero of Talos Island bring his friend's murderer to justice.
Grey Pilgrim: Fire/Fire Tanker (50), Victory

Yeah, that's been a bugaboo for me for years. Put a show in a slot and leave it there. Let the audiences find it and let it build a fan base. Cheers is the classic example of this. It did terribly at first, but the audience built for it until it became the number one show in America and is known everywhere. We can't watch it if we can't find it.

They needed characters that would actually be a useful addition to the team, not redundant ones.

Ames thieving skills were already duplicated by any other member of the team; & Ilsa as she was written was a hindrance to them, if they had kept Ilsa as a rich socialite who wanted to bankrolled them & stayed out of the way, that might have worked.

Ilsa definitely shouldn’t have been accompanying them on missions, & questioning their methods & tactics.

The “will they or won’t they” vibe between her & Chance was the final nail in the coffin.

If the writers felt the need to bring other people onto the team useful additions would have been:

Emma (FBI agent)
Maria (Merc/Freedom Fighter)
Layla (Computer Hacker)

The first two were shown to have contacts that Chance didn’t have access to.

And Winston looked like a fish out of water wherever he tried to hack a computer system or deal with something tech related, so a dedicated computer hacker would have been useful.

Even the assassin from the plane episode that Chance wanted to reform & join him, would have been a good match for the team.

The other thing they dropped the ball on was the resolution of the season one cliffhanger; would like to have seen more episodes dealing with “The Old Man”, Chance & Baptiste, instead of having the Ilsa storyline foisted upon us.

I don't think I had ever heard of Firefly until it was off the air, and when you look at the airdates for the episodes, it's no surprise the thing was canceled. Things were shown out of order and not on the same day of the week, and with that show, some of the episodes should be seen in order to appreciate them more (and heck, that's the same for most shows that are good).

I'd be fine with the "Reality" TV hell of the summer if we actually had regular shows consistent during the rest of the year. No mid-season breaks, no shuffling around... give a show an honest chance and then dump it. Even if you only gave it half a season in the first place, let those 12 or so eps run at a consistent time.

I'd heard of Firefly, but I didn't watch it when it came out because not only did Fox move it around, their promotional material was horrible and it looked like something I would hate.
