Damage Resistance = Resistance Debuff Resistance

Thats why you can't monitor resistance debuff in combat attributes.

Well my fire blaster I just finished lvling got an entire 1 day to have fun with this, time to delete him now, I hate how much the devs make radical changes in this game, they could have at least let reactive proc once every 10 seconds in rains but that is far too much to ask. I can't wait until SWTOR comes out.

It does, and it's supposed to. Right now it only hits one target, but devs already said they would be fixing that.

If you're deleting your character because you don't get the overpowered rains despite the fact that Reactive gives a very large damage bonus to every other damage power you own, I hope you have fun in SWTOR.

I'm still not sure why they let the patch go live when it is bugged as well (isn't that the point of testing these things?), but at least we know they think it's a bug and they're fixing it. I sure as heck hope the patch notes say something to that effect, because the rage and frustration will otherwise be palpable, and they won't all be posting about it.

The patch notes should also note that they are fixing it to how it SHOULD HAVE WORKED ALL THE TIME. Little things like that really are helpful to calm people down and realize that this is not a nerf. Also... why are people swapping out their Reactives because of this? It's extra -res or damage to EVERY power that does even a smidge of damage. It's a good pick if that's what you want for your character.

It's like people saying they were going to bench their Shield characters when Shield Charge's numbers were put back to what they were supposed to be... like the power isn't ridiculously good still.

You leveled a character just to take advantage of these broken powers?

You don't push a 'fix' to live that has a new bug in it. You do that and you end up pissing off a lot of your customers. I'm fine with the once every ten seconds thing, but not with it only working on one damn target on aoe powers. I think people have a right to be concerned when the devs claim to be 'fixing' something but are in fact only changing how the situation is broken. Fix it properly then put it on live.

The current "broken" state is MUCH closer to intended power level and does not break the game like the previous broken state. Therefore this change had to be pushed live while they try to figure out how to make them AoEs again. Plus, there were likely other important changes in this patch that had to go live.

While unfortunate that it is single target in rains/patches/auras, the overall effect of Interface is still very good. This change does not break any concepts nor destroy any builds nor does it make the game a joke. Putting it live was the only responsible thing to do.

Leaving it as it was wouldn't have broken any concepts nor detroyed any builds nor did it make the game a joke. Putting a 'fix' into the live game with a bug already in it, is a joke.

To be fair, it did make the game a joke for those that had rain powers. Not that I am for the current nerf. Yes I said nerf. Making it work like a proc was slotted in each damage power so rain powers, caltrops and such would have a chance to hit everything in the radius every 10 seconds would be a fix. Making it so only 1 target is hit is a nerf.

So you nerf something and get everyone upset, then when you actually do fix the problem that you should have caught several months before, you look like a hero for giving everyone a buff. How to screw up but look good 101.

Mind, the -res can easily outperform the damage if you're on a team, and even more if you're on a league.

Well we have to push this build so we can see what is in the build. Then we can change what we need to later.

But that would not be "leaving it as it is." The way it "is" is the new version. What you're saying is they should now go back and deliberately reintroduce the previous bug. And since the new fix brings the game closer to the intended functionality, even if it doesn't get all the way there, it stays.

I agree with this, I just hope that the devs get around to fixing it to how it should work within the next few weeks. I'd rather people had fun with it until the devs sorted out a proper fix, where as we have to play with it being subpar for a while now.

It is a bit frustrating. I just finished my spines fire scrapper and worked hard to get reactive. I would never have bothered if it was only going to hit one target.

I would have used my rares and v rares on destiny first.

But who am I to complain.....I am only a customer.

It is frustrating......but I also understand if it is broken then it has to be fixed, but this seems so underpowered its funny!

For the tenth time, the one target thing is an issue that's going to be corrected soon.

The only power of yours this should even be currently affecting is Quills (and I didn't even check to see if that's accurate or not; it may only be happening to rains and not toggles).

I still prefer "so underpowered it's funny" to "so overpowered it's funny." At least the former doesn't break anything.

Did you read the post you were quoting? I flat out wondered why they would push a patch that had a bug in it, since that's the whole point of testing a patch (or so I thought). Making the adjustment and saying they'll fix it is a bad idea in my opinion, but at least it is noted in the patch notes:

"Toggle and Auto powers will collectively only apply the effects of the Interface slot procs once every 10 seconds across all Toggle/Auto powers. Click power Interface slot procs are unaffected by this timer. Known Issue: This fix currently causes the Interface proc to only occur versus one target in a round of procs. This is unintentional and will be fixed in a future patch."

I'm sure they did it because I groused about how they probably wouldn't in this thread!

I just hope the fix comes in soon. I'm glad that they put something in the patch notes, but the sooner they get it adjusted, the better. I still don't get the people that are supposedly shelving characters because this is being made into a proc, though... it's not like every power activation still won't cause a chance for the DoT to apply: they're just adding a slight bit more of work to the issue.

I still can't fathom why people would shelve a character because of this change: if you like the character, Reactive is still going to be a nice choice for any person with a damage aura, rain powers, etc.

Are we talkin soon in the reasonable person sense or soon in the Valve/Blizzard sense?

Was it way crazy overpowered? Yes. Was it "breaking the game." I don't think so. How does me spamming RoF and Sleet walking through TF's with my buds for a couple weeks break the game? If we are talking game breaking bugs, you'd have more merit talking about the AE monkey and mito get your lvl 1 to 50 in an hour farms than this.

If you rolled a character just for it though, that sucks. It was obviously going to get nerfed sooner than later. As long as the fix for the broken fix comes quickly, I have no complaints.

I still say the other interface powers need a buff. Reactive is still to much of an obvious choice.

Last Friday, my Blaster participated in a Cathedral of Pain run. My Group had myself (Fire Blaster with reactive) and a Cold/Ice Defender with Reactive. We all went to our Obelisks and started - by the time the other two teams had downed the barriers, my team had accidentally taken ours down in about 5 seconds - Rain of Fire, Sleet, and Ice Storm all at once. Boom. Reactive proccing FIFTEEN TIMES A SECOND. For 12 damage + Any resistance debuffs from Sleet. (Reactive's DoT doesn't quite follow the 4 limit since you can reset the first application with the fifth, doing massive dots).

Later, my Blaster soloed an entire mob with RoF, a Second with Judgement, and a third with his regular AoEs - the mobs dropped in about 10 seconds.

Having 1 chance every 10 seconds to do a whopping 12 damage to an enemy after getting a tier 4 Reactive Radial using any damage aura is a slap to the face.

Interface powers in general were broken in the sense that for each "tic" of damage the debuff would apply. I've been hit with gloom and saw each tic of damage stack up an interface debuff.

However, nerfing it down to act like a damage proc in toggle, rain, and patch powers just makes it weak compared to other incarnate abilities. Hopefully the devs can work out a happy middle ground where it is still useful without being broken/overpowered.

Also, its funny they pushed it to live over nerfing it, when it was clearly pointed out in posts on test that it was broken there. "If they are going to have it broken, lets give them a version that really sucks rather than have it be too good."

It should be closer to 50 damage, and all your other powers stack this too. Not just your damage toggle.
