Trial Staging Map

Here's another question: If the devs agreed and started working on a trial gathering zone... would we still have need of it by the time it was actually finished? I don't see the trials completely dying out, but I do see them becoming somewhat less popular as the new shiny wears off.

Seen teams on Virtue doing just that.

This is what I was thinking too. But then again, there will be more trials and incarnate slots in the future, so the current situation is likely to repeat itself.

I find it amusing to see people preforming leagues, and accepting any random person in the zone. But locking it before they joined the queue with it.

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

Locking the league isn't to stop the turnstile adding more members (because it does that anyway unless you're at the max) it's to stop the turnstile from scrambling the teams (which is frustrating if you're trying to balance ATs for team splits such as the Lambda third phase).

Ahhh that makes more sense, thanks for explanation.

Since Praetoria qualifies as co-op zones, why not meet in the BAF for a BAF trial and in Lambda for a Lambda trial?

Because they take ages to get to and it doesn't solve the fundamental problem of having lots of people in the same zone.

There are 6 Praetorian zones to pick from

This would be an excellent use of the discarded "Matrix room" from the old Arena design

That would be awesome, though the map looks a bit small.

not what he said at all, he said that if one just says they are entering the random turnstile, and have a few friends but not a full team, and they take leadership of several teams, those friends would possibly be separated. its not about fear of inexperienced players, its fear that entering the system would separate a small group of friends who may wish to team together AND have some random ads.

I was in a Group on Justice that did that once Pocket D Filled up.

We did exactly this on Union once. It raised some eyebrows, but it was fun. It isn't like it's too far from Pocket D.

What is the friggin' point of the "Team Up Teleporter" if you all have to be standing next to each other?

It's touted as a feature of I20, but in reality the TuT is just a hand-wave for having a mysterious contact you don't call.

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

Because it's a wonderful addition in theory, but in practice it only works if a significant number of people use it. If everybody is just forming full pre-mades, it serves no purpose but to keep everyone from having to congregate in front of one contact in one zone, and occasionally bug out and not give someone a confirmation prompt, causing them to miss out on the trial they stood around forming up for.

This thread meets with my approval and I especially endorse *this* idea. Make this room accessible from existing coop zones, and have people interested in Leagues come here.

The Matrix Room as a staging ground is a great idea and needs to be done. Ideally, this place could be accessed directly from Ouroboros or Atlas/GVille.

The implementation was too poor to be useful. When given the choice between global channels and guaranteeing a large group to always getting trials starting with the minimum required members, the preform wins. I'm a little bit surprised this didn't get addressed during beta, because it seems rather freakin' obvious.

Unfortunately it's probably too late to fix it at this point, too. Once a feature like this is bypassed by the playerbase you can't generally drag people back to it without completely redesigning it.

If they added a few minor fixes, I would use it in a heartbeat. Biggest problem - not being able to see how many people are in the queue. Second biggest problem - not being able to join an in-progress trial unless they are below the minimum. Although I personally think they should only be able to join an in-progress during the first stage of the trial.

In my experience, if a league drops below the minimum number of people required to start it begins bleeding participants rapidly. Joining such a league has served little purpose beyond seeing "Oh, we're all quitting?" Dropping queuers into a raid in its first or second stage would make a good bit more sense to me. Full leagues have, to me, been more enjoyable than minimal ones.

I think dev expectation may have been that more people would queue with 6-8 man teams while the reality is the queue is filled with individuals.
