Oh how I wish they would let us disable the cut scenes, or at the least find a way for us to keep chatting during them.

What are red side cutscenes like? Like what do heroes do that's similar to moustache-twirling and that fills up the same amount of time as a monologue? And if they're fighting other villains, do villains still twirl their moustaches, or is that something they only do when facing heroes?

If we could chat during cut scenes I wouldn't object to them at all. I still wouldn't like that it makes my powers look recharged when they're not, but I wouldn't be bored.

Favorite cutscene? The one-liner with Calystix. Something like "They shall not succeed!", the end. Not sure that one's even in the game anymore.

Least favorite? Probably Reichsman's conversation with Roderick Mueller in the 5th Column Strike Force. The BAF cutscene and "Keep it together, Shalice!" are a very close second and third.

Viridian has a nice one before facing a Council higherup.
LRSF has a few, one before facing Vindicators and another before Future Phalanx and one when you face Slinger, then another in the faceoff against Crimson then another on the last mission...
Billie Heck has one in his Bloody Vicious/Pitbull.
Sea Witch appears in two cutscenes...

Most are pretty dramatic, not a lot of mustache twirling.

I have run the BAF and Lambda well over 30 times in since i20 went live. I am so tired of that cut scene that it is painful. Guild Wars gives the skip option, and if everyone on the team chooses it, it cancels the scene.

We really need something. It was entertaining the first few times, but around the 25th my eyes started to bleed.

i know i'm an idiot but maybe the devs could stop writing to me like i've got a bad case of the downs, plz
And there is always someone, holding out on an Molecular Acid. Today we were on a run, and had 2 portals left. After explaining how to access your temp powers, still no one would use them on the last 2 Portals. So we go to get one from the "Shipment". Just as the container is about to go down one of the portals/doors is closed.

Actually Tech no I did not know that.. Thanks for the update. Does make me wonder though if Requiem is a Nictus then WHY don't we see any Galaxy style troops in the ranks of the 5th? I did mention my Canon Fu is a bit weak in some areas.. And in case anyone wasn't 100% certain this whole thread is meant to be sort of a running joke.

I really don't, or at least didn't, mind Cut Scenes prior to the incarnate sysytem .. with 12 different characters running though the WST each week to get the Notices they needed to hit Tier 4 not to mention all the TFS I did prior to that just to get to tier 3 I have seen them all over and over and over... just like everyone else. The first time I ever saw the two CSes involving Aeon in the STF I was giggling over his ineptness. After viewing it 15 times the week the STF was the WST the joke got a little stale and I found myslef thinking "Can you please just shut up and let me go pound on the AVs?" lol I know I wasn;t alone cause other team members were groaning and complaining when it finished as well.

Someone else mentioned it .. the Mother Mayhem CS in the BAF is even worse. If you are not the first one to zone in there are times that you can't even move before you have to sit and watch it.. AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN. On a full league with 24 players I have averaged abount 10% of the IXP I needed to open Justice and then Lore... sometimes a little more bit not often. SO in order to open up both those new powers I had to run... 20 BAFS. Lambdas actually reward quicker.. I was able to get around 20-25% or more per trial .. so 8-9 opened both Interface and Destiny. Figures Mauraders CS is shorter so baturally they fix it so we don't HAVE to watch it as much. Now.. at this point 2 of my 12 characters have opened all 4 new powers and gotten to the point where they are 50 (+3)s during trials.. that means I have now viewed that Mother Mayhem cutscene around 40 times since Tuesday. Yes I have completely lost what little mind I had left. hehehe

Feel free to read up (or run the missions and see!).

The bit about the Path of the Dark being in Italy from Roman times is here. That also explains Requiem's origins: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Colleen_...ss_.2835-39.29

I may be in a minority here, but I love the cutscene at the end of Jenny Adair's arc. I wish there was a bit more camera movement in it (a slow tracking shot), but I gather the devs' cutscene tool is more cumbersome than the Eiffel Tower as designed by Picasso on acid.

One of the others I REALLY liked (for the mechanics if nothing else) was on the... Warden? Praetoria arc, way early on, and based on your morality choice, you've gotta get an experiment out of a biotank. And part of the cutscene is from the POV of the experiment INSIDE the biotank, looking out at you talking to the contact. First time I saw that, I thought, "Now THAT is COOL!"

I don't mind cutscenes, in general. If I've seen them often enough, that's my cue to dash to the kitchen and get soda, go move the laundry, bio break, or whatever.

(And there's always that little voice in my head that goes... "I could make that cutscene better.")

That arc has talked about Romulus Augustus merging with a being of pure shadow since release. Requiem's bio has always explicitly called it a Nictus. This isn't a retcon.

heheh you joke Zombie but the other day I was on the BAF and arrived just in time for the cut scene to begin. I made a quick trip to the bathroom certain it would be over and people would be screaming where are you? I got back and the thing still wasn't finished.

I have run a lot of BAFs and that scene has become my cue to go make a fresh glass of ice tea, or refill my coffee, or grab a snack or just het up and stretch LOL

Exactly why does a robot, supposed devoid of feelings or any need for self gratification, need to wear lipstick? My other question is .. did Nemesis help design her? I thought he didn't exist in this version of earth and yet she does seem to be smoking in her scenes. No I don;t mean a cigar.. smoke is seeping from all over hjer body? After the BAF trial she may want to have her wiring looked at because that can't be good.
I'm sure quite a few people have recognized Nightstar's aura as the Tendril one - consisting of tendrils similar to the ones used in Dark Blast, Dark Melee, etc.
The specific reason is that: "Nightstar draws her near-infinite power from another dimension known as the Black Shroud."
Oh, and the lipstick or whatever is easily explained with her creator putting it on her for one reason or another.

Also, she's not pausing constantly. She's denoting -emphasis- with hyphens on both sides of a word. It does sound silly to emphasize that many words in a row, though.

I generally really like the cutscenes, until I'm doing something with a cutscene several times in short succession. Then they get boring. I'm a bit on the fence with the BAF one in particular - due to slow loading times I've still not seen the very beginning of it, so occasionally I'll get just a few more seconds towards the beginning and be all "yay ". The rest of it is loooong.

Robots can love. I saw it sort of in Blade Runner? That other movie with that kid who sees dead people who played a robot? It's not a far out concept in comix. I mean, if robots can hate things, why can't they love things. Robocop loved his wife didn't he?

Marvel had many robots who fell in love. Vision fell in love with the Scarlet Witch, and she loved him too.

In Praetoria, robots were being programmed with the minds of Psi users which would make them somewhat human.

Maybe Nightstar has the mind of a Psi in her who happened to like lip stick?

In that sense Babage uses Psi powers? Psi powers coming from a mind of some type would sort of indicate that he must be able to tap into the minds of others with his own mind resulting in the damage he causes.

It also says in a load screen somewhere.

Praetorian Clockworks have a weakness that betrays their origin? Could it be love? Does love betray their origin?

Is love...maybe the weakness of all of us deep down inside?

*Checks the careing meter*

Yup...It's love.

LOVE!

It's one to grow on.

My favorite cut scene is in the Alpha slot arc where Mender Ramiel explains about the Well, and you get to see a parade of Incarnate heroes and villains against a background of a night sky. It feels totally cinematic and (I know this is an overused word) epic.

In the BAF cutscene what annoys me there are -all- -the- -hyphens- they throw into Mother Mayhem's dialog. What are they supposed to be? Emphasis? Use boldface or italics or underlines. Pauses? Use ellipsis or emdashes. It makes it hard to read and it's just puzzling and immersion breaking.

Wish they'd dispense with them entirely. If there was a way, say in Ouro, to view cutscenes out of a library, I'd be all for it. Expanding that so that one could get a lot of the lore of the game that way would be cool. But having them in the middle of missions is not nifty, in my opinion.

My favorite cut scene is the one at the end of the Alpha slot arc, because there's nothing else after that, so I can wander off and do something else, and come back when it's over. My least favorite is the ITF one, because I see it so often and it comes at a time when it's bad to be late getting back. Breaks immersion, but I can't do anything useful with the time.

Frankly, I'm surprised we don't have more cutscenes, and I wish we did.

Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.

If it weren't for the fact that demorecording cutscenes and playing them back tends to bork them, I would happily go through and do just that, and create a comprehensive archive of all the game's cutscenes.

(I don't know WHY it borks them, and I cannot get a dev who is willing to help me troubleshoot the issue to see if it's something I can work on clientside.)

I'd also be inclined to add a few 'outtakes', such as when folks deliberately place themselves where they know the cutscene will start (like in the first mission of the LGTF, and the Clockwork King appears, and there's a team member standing there with a protest sign or on the phone or whatnot) but that's coz I'm weird.

This is my favorite cutscene as well!

As for the BAF cutscene, I read somewhere that if the whole league goes over the wall, instead of through the door, that the cutscene will not play. Can anyone confirm this?

As long as there is skip button.

After the 12232332434th time I think I got the story/evil plot/monologue/magic mcmuffin.

If they rotated them among 3-4 different cut scenes it would be great also. (but probably expensive to produce.)
