Awesome movie, Tim! Very well done!
  3. Very well done, as always. Did a great job of capturing the sadness of COH's demise.
  4. Hi MP,

When will the results be posted?

    Thanks
  5. This was my first character, Excimer, an Energy/Energy blaster created back in August 2004.

  6. Very fun! Thanks for putting this together! I submitted my answers.

Edit: Please use second uploaded file. I saw that I had not filled out the whole matrix, even though I had figured out the answer.
  7. When a poll such as this is taken, it is implicit that the winning choice will be used. In the event that some other consideration arises to prevent this, then the devs really need to explain why, so it does not leave us with the impression that our input was flat-out ignored.

If they were always going to use option 2, then it would have been much better not to have taken the poll!

  9. I have two requests:

    1. a glow option for the circuitry pattern
    2. Mother Mayhem's boots

    Thanks!
  10. Thanks for all of the feedback. I originally looked at using very recharge-heavy build, but decided to go with a build that can Perma-Dom, with sufficient attention, as well as have soft-cap for Ranged Defense.

With more practice, I now find that I can keep Domination from dropping so long as I notice when Hasten drops, and then really keep an eye on when it recharges. The only times it drops are when I get distracted by looking at the map, or occasionally if I have been a bit slow on getting Hasten fired off, when a long animation delays the auto-fire of Domination.

As to the numbers, the formulas in Kronos' guide indicate that you need 67.74% global recharge if you have 3 Lvl 40 IO's in hasten (97.37%). My experience in trying to keep Domination up with 71% global recharge and my current 78.8% seems to bear this out - I was on the very ragged edge before and now have some more breathing room.
  11. I have a question for all of you Perma-Dommers out there... How much recharge margin do you have to reliably keep Perma-Dom up?

I have 3 L40 Rchg IO's in Hasten for 97.37% recharge, and 78.8% global recharge in addition, which in theory (I think) gives me 14 seconds of margin to get Hasten fired again after it recharges. This sure seems like it should be enough, but I still have Dom drop on me sometimes.
  12. Looking, great, Dink! Can't wait for these to be available.

I had this happen to me the one time I used the login page settings button. Won't be doing that again anytime soon!
  14. Well, I am glad I was persuaded to give Wormhole another try - in I22 it rocks! No more Alpha during the wind up part. Sweet!
  15. My favorite is using Crane Kick slotted for Knockback to deliver the final blow to a mob by punting him off a building top, bridge, or cliff.

Ripper 1 Ranged, Minor DMG (Energy), Foe -DEF (All)

Tearass Blast 32 PBAoE, Extreme DMG (Energy/Smash), Foe Hold, -DEF (All), Self -Recovery

They could do the above or they could give us a really cool farting emote like we have for burping. This would involve the emote for Hmmm (plotting), frustrated, then one for raising the hip/butt cheek, and finally finish it off with evil laugh.
    Energy damage? I'm thinking TOXIC!
  17. I did some more digging into the whole Permadom thing, and found a good guide with some understandable math in it. (See "Guide to Perma Domination with IOs" in the Dom Guides thread, and look at post #39 by Kosmos).

Per that guide, given that I have 3 Lvl 40 Rchg IOs in Hasten, I only need 67.74% global recharge to get Permadom. Great news! This means I can convert another set from Rchg bonus to Ranged Def bonus, and now have soft capped Range def. My updated build has 71.3% global rchg and 45.6 Ranged Def. Winning!

  18. Thanks for your feedback! I am still quite uncertain about how much recharge is needed for PermaDom, so as I said in my OP, I was wondering if had had gone overboard. I have revised my build to bump up the Ranged Def at the expense of some of the Recharge, hopefully to achieve a better balance.

Yes, it was originally for the set bonus. Now I switched to Lift, with Thunderstrikes for Ranged Def + Dam

The 5 Red Fortunes were for the Rchg bonus. I lean towards positional def vs. typed def, so that is why I have not slotted up Scorp Shield - it is just a mule for a LotG.

My revised build is now just shy of softcap for ranged def

Correct, it was for the Rchg bonus. Replaced with Numina's for the proc and the ranged def.

I decided to give WH a shot again - maybe this time I'll figure it out, at least solo.

Anyway, back to the PermaDom thing... now Mids says Dominate will recharge in 78.8 sec if Hasten is running, and Hasten will recharge in 128 sec, so if I understand this right, I will be PermaDom if I can restart Hasten within 3 seconds of it being available? (11 sec left of Domination after it is ready to re-fire minus the 8 sec of Hasten not being up - is this the right way to look at this???)

    Thanks again for your input!

  19. I recently started my first Dom, a Grav/Elec, and am wondering if my intended final build is going overboard on recharge to achieve PermaDom. According to Mids, Domination with this build recharges in 89.39 sec, but I wonder if getting to PermaDom without need for Hasten is too much. Maybe I should divert some additional slotting into increased ranged defense? If so, what would a better target for recharge be?

Before I post the build, a note to Grav mavens: I have an incarnated Grav troller, so have tried and dropped Wormhole before - its omission is quite deliberate; I just don't like it.

Anyway, here is the build. This is shown as a respec build, so the slot order is not as I will actually do it. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

  20. I was just able to get Maria Jenkins as a contact with one of my characters that started out in the Praetorian Resistance (Vee-Vee), and I was looking forward to seeing how her dialog would change based on this history. She claims to have heard about Vee-Vee:

"Well hello there. You must be Vee-Vee. I have been hearing a lot about you. If anyone can help me with the problems I am trying to solve, I am sure it will be you."

If Maria's been "hearing a lot" about Vee-Vee, then surely she knows that Vee-Vee is a Praetorian, and thus does not have to have all the Praetoria stuff explained to her, right?

Sadly, no such luck. Maria is evidently clueless about this. (Never mind that Vee-Vee's costume includes Resistance chest armor!)

What a bummer! By now, I would have thought that the Devs could have tied off all of the Going Rogue/Praetorian tendrils. They demonstrated that they have the tech do do this with Katie Douglas' arc in First Ward - Katie somewhat recognized that she and Vee-Vee were once friends, because Vee-Vee had done the arc that freed her in the past.

It is a shame that this otherwise great game has these patches of unfinished-ness.

  22. In addition to the logout thing, I am also having problems logging in. After I enter my name and pw, I get the "thanks for logging in " message, but frequently the screen goes back to not logged-in. Today, for example, I had to go through the sequence 3 times to get the login to stick. Anyone else having that problem as well?

Well, I had to look up "sisyphean" to understand this post, but having done so, I agree! Thus, I disagree with the OP - don't mess with the leveling curve.

Captain Photon, +1 vocabulary points for you!
