I'd read that.

I noticed something last night, and I'm not sure if it's a bug or WAI. You can apparently create Incarnate abilities for slots you haven't yet unlocked. My main has a common Lore pet ability created, but the Lore slot is less than halfway unlocked. Is this legit? I'd hate to slot like, a Rare, only to have it go POOF when the slot unlocks.

It is legit Gate, I have done it for most of my new slots before they were open and they have all worked fine. I did find that I couldn't slot the new power if I opened it during a trial, but the minute I got out of the trial it worked fine.

What are all of the things you can use Astral Merits for? So far, the only use I've been able to find for them is converting them into Threads. Are Astral Merits something I want to be hoarding (like Empyrean Merits) because they're useful for something? Or are Astral Merits (themselves) pretty useless because the Astral Merits aren't used in any recipes (yet...)?

At present, that *is* the only thing you can use Astral Merits for.

So I chatted with Dispari very briefly to make sure I wasn't stepping on any toes.

I rearranged the data provided into something a little more visually oriented. Yeah, the file *is* stupid big. I think the best way to use the file is to

1) For each slot, peruse the general options (Musculature vs. Nerve, Warworks vs. Seers, etc) and decide which option you want to go with for each slot.
2) Focus on just the page for each of the slots you've chosen, using the entries to plan your ascent and to help track what you need to obtain.

Question on Lore: Are the Lore powers on a global timer? As in, if I summon a Lore pet, then equip a different one, will that power need to recharge, or will it be ready to go (or, will it desummon the pets currently out?)

This wouldn't matter for the other incarnate abilities, but it could mean double-Lore pets or a much better duration/recharge ratio, because Lore pets would be summoned prior to the combat-equip blocker.

You can't switch out an Incarnate power while it's recharging. I found that out the other day when I tried to upgrade my Lore pet. Had to wait until it recharged to be able to make the Tier 3 with it.

You can't slot (or even upgrade) a power that's still recharging.

I have this same question/request. My actual playtime is limited, so for me to spend the hour or so I may have to play the game searching thru the individual screens for each power/level to see what each of the pets do doesn't sit well. However, I have plenty of time during the day, when I can't get on the game , to plan and create comparisons.

That is awesome. Thank you. And in case I hadn't already, thank you Dispari for all the original info.

Edit: I just printed the pdf out and noticed there's no A & E merit breakdown or conversion (into components, at least for the E-merits) anywhere. Didn't see any mention of it in Dispari's OP either. Just a FYI--I'll be writing them in on the printout myself.

Common components. You need tons of them; the rest of the stuff will most likely drop from the trials for you.

Astrals: Break them down into threads.

Empyrians: Save them up until you have 8 or 30 to get rares or very rares (depending on your level of need).

the lore pets definitely do not get all those abilities, i have clockwork lore on one of my toons and NONE of them have the quick repair and builders do not have a rez, the boss pet only has 3 attacks total

the abilities mentioned on the wiki are of the actual enemy groups, the lore pet essences we have are a lesser version of those (ie they dont have all the same powers, or they would be insanely overpowered)

Fine. People who actually *have* these Lore pets need to start documenting what powers and abilities these pets actually GET (or not). I can't make an informed decision as to which type I want to be using without having even the slightest clue as to what powers and abilities (and buffs) they MIGHT even offer.

before i picked my lore pets i looked in the detailed info the see what powers they have

open incarnate window -> lore tab -> tree of choice -> right click on any of the pictures -> detailed info

shows all the powers they get, i know ALL of the lore pets have lore evasion which is 25% resist to all and 50% def aoe, so they all have the same resists/def at base

for example: what i remember from looking at seer pets is the boss only has dominate, levitate, and mental blast for attacks, the support pet has only fortitude and soothe mind for buffs, if your looking at the tier 4s, the suppport pet has lore deflection to make it untouchable, and on the core tree both pets get lore power which is a 25% base dmg bonus

im not trying to say posting that kind of stuff was wrong, but poeple who are trying to find out info for these things will get mislead because the actual versions are MUCH stronger than lore version (if we got actual versions, i would go seers no question because of drain psyche, but in their current state, they are the weakest lore pets IMO)
