I dunno...if we succeed, he may be GLAD of that particular crap-tonne of work
  3. Studio, no contest. I'd really miss the game, but in reality, it was never the game itself that brought my husband and I back time after time. It was the community, the ease and pure awesomesauce of the teaming (and later, league) mechanic. The studio knows how to implement these things in a way no other studio has yet matched, and can recreate the ATMOSPHERE we love so much...pretty much anywhere, and in any game they develop.

  4. I actually missed that little green button on both of my trips to the site, and only realized it was there after reading this! For those running No-Script or something similar, please "temp allow all this page" and click the green! You will have to log in to do so.

EDIT: Phillygirl, where do you see the recommendations? I can see the number of views, but the area between views and shares--where it looks like recommendations should be--is blank for me...

It's not so much about listening to her, if you want to help; then help. If not, well ok then. I'd suggest helping out, going to the titan network forums to see what needs to be done. Maybe writing letters to the various video game news sites as has been suggested in a few threads here, but don't try to find silly things like "Is she faking a lack of fluency in english?" it does no good...
Sorry, I did not mean to insult her in any way, just to point out that she might indeed have inside knowledge worth noting. I noticed that no one quoted her post, agreed with her, disagreed with her, or acknowledged her post in any way at all.

If there are shareholders watching TonyV to see how/whether he pulls things together, folks richer than us who would consider backing him, then we should let go of the hope that *someone* will buy CoH and actively support TonyV. After all, even if everyone doesn't agree with him 100% on every little thing, we ALL can agree that he and his crew love the game and would treat it with the respect it deserves.

    Other companies might not.

If anyone bothers to check out Mishii's post history, there is an inconsistency in her syntax and voice that should not be ignored...her first post, while lacking in correct punctuation, does not display the ever-the-top ESL tendencies of later posts. Also, the voice of some posts show a certain maturity and depth of understanding of the game only demonstrated by a select few here on the forums, while others are outlandishly flighty...not to mention the freakishly accurate Professor Trelawney nature of two or three of her posts buried in the mixture.

This may mean something or it may not; I may be grasping at straws in my grief, and she may just be some kid who can occasionally predict the future trying to pass herself off as something she's not.

But maybe we should listen to her.

    Maybe.

I'm getting too old for cake...the candles might burn the MA building down. I'll be there, and I'll try to drag hubby along as well if you need more people.

Lol, when I created my forum account, Fridgy Daiere was my global...I did TRY to make it easy for everyone to find me! Then @Happily Married decided it would be cool to have matching globals. For the sake of completeness, my global names are/have been: @Falcon Guard (this was when Happ and I shared an account), @Justice Wraith, @Fridgy Daiere, @Blissfully Wed.

Fridgy was also my main at that time, but I got tired of playing her a year after hitting 50 and deleted her. Of course with the incarnate stuff she would have been awesome.

    Hmmm...

    *goes to re-roll Fridgy*

EDIT: spelling. How could I have misspelled my global? Sheesh! Need more java.
  10. Good morning! I've been playing since June 2004, and Guardian has been my home since 2008 or so. Actually, it was when I 'found' the forums and discovered how friendly and goofy everyone here is that I decided to make this my main server. I don't post here much, but I check in once or twice a week.

I love the stories in-game and prefer a slow pace; it took 5-6 years for me to ding 50! That being said, my husband's motto is, "Moar lvls NAO!" so you can frequently find me stuck in the RWZ AE building pl'ing his toons.

Some of my favorite characters to play are Electessa, Blissfully Wed, Aaleear, Button, and Softly Falling Dusk. I am often online with my hubby, @Happily Married, or oldest son, @Heavy Claw... feel free to drop a tell anytime to any of us!

QUESTIONS: If I ping an IP, is that ping being routed or going straight to the webserver?
When I do a tracert, am I requesting data from the webserver or just following a packet or piece of information?

I dinna think it's the forum software because it also affects both the CoX and NCSoft homepages where that would not be an issue.

I totally feel your pain on the fluke of timing issue in your second edit above; several times I thought I had it figured out, only to be back to square one 10 minutes later.

Thanks for everyone's continued brainstorming on this issue! I am able to connect at this time, but I know how frustrating it is for the folks who can't.
  13. I haven't replied lately simply because to do so caused too much frustration; however, I realized today that I can browse freely now! A tracert shows that my route is no longer going through ATT.

To someone who knows: Why would I have been going through the same IPs (all the att.net ones) no matter which DNS server I was using? I tried OpenDNS, Google, and my default ISP, each after flushing the DNS cache, and all three went through att.net. Who/what controls the route?
  14. The following is my output. I hope it posts alright, as it has taken me an hour to get this far, and I have to leave for work as soon as I click "submit." Thanks everyone for your help and patience thus far!!

  15. OK, the DNS "fix" from earlier might have been a fluke of timing, because the "fix" only lasts 10 minutes or so after changing the DNS servers and is not consistent. Below is my ping.

Typing the ip address of the boards in the address bar doesn't help with loading either. If you care to explain what a tracert is and how to proceed, I would be glad to post the results (assuming I can get on)!
  16. I also have had this issue for the past 2 days using both IE8 32 bit and Firefox. Clearing caches, cookies, etc with CCleaner didn't help. Trying the /flushdns fix posted earlier didn't help.

I usually have my computers set to obtain their DNS servers automatically and my router--Netgear WNDR3700--to use OpenDNS servers. For S&Gs I set the router to obtain automatically from my ISP, and it fixed the issue. I like using OpenDNS because of my kiddos...does anyone with more tech knowledge than I have any suggestions? Are the rest of you having this issue using OpenDNS?

EDIT: I've switched back to OpenDNS and can still load the forums. I ran CCleaner again to make sure I wasn't loading from caches or something. This gets curiouser and curiouser...

Wow. Just wow. AWESOME imagination and creativity!
  19. Put me down with either Electessa (50 kin/elec defender) or Softly Falling Dusk (40+ kin/dark defender)...whichever you prefer.

@Happily Married also wants in with either Happily Married (50 fire/kin controller) or Cryo Tap (50 kin/ice defender)...whichever you prefer.
