Isn't it about time you removed the 25%-tohit! in group fly (and PB group fly)?

I mean, come on.

(You've already given everyone jet packs and travel powers, at least make a stupid slow flight exist as a novelty without making it impossible for ANYONE to hit ANYTHING... it doesn't even make sense by any standpoint, except maybe the person USING the power)

I dont see the point to making group fly only usable in effective raids.

Given the tendency of people to fall out of group fly isnt that a big enough penalty?

In certain situations, with leadership/tactics or rad/storm defense debuff, the accuracy penalty is NOT so delibilitating as stayin on the ground -- Knives of Artemis and the ninjas in the Chimera map. Nobody but nobody likes 3, 4, 5 stacked caltrops.

Personally? I would rather the person on my team leave me to maneuver my way around the caltrops with either ninja run or a jet pack. The knives are already a defense based group, better I not let the defense debuff go to waste.

Also, caltrops produce a deceivingly spherical AoE (you get hurt while anywhere near the trops, so you could just stand at range to begin with)

Also, no one will take group fly to begin with because people start raging at you every time you use it.

Lastly, how often do you ever fight the knives (except that one time)?

Good effort, but I can't let it be seen like it's useful ever (it's not) because the devs who may or may not see this article love to hate this power don't give them an excuse to continue. I'm lookin' at you magical devs who can change things like simple numerical stats.

Far, far too often. In every Peregrine bank mission. In way too many tip missions. In way too many story arcs.

I take group fly frequently on masterminds because some pets are really stupid about pathing to targets up stairs and ramps even if the mastermind is in bodyguard mode. Second my mastermind doesn't hear any yelling at all from the minions when I 'pick them up' with group fly and drop them where I want them. Third, until my mastermind gets kinetics, I will have to satisfy myself with group fly. (By the way, have you seen what minions do even when speed boosted after they encounter caltrops? The fear component gets really, really ugly.)

The reason G-Fly is so reviled. It's due for another look. To eliminate the -ToHit or at least reduce the penalty.

If 8 players use Group Fly at the same time, would that debuff the teams ToHit by 200%?

i think so. Oh, now i want to try running an ITF where everyone on the team is running Group Fly for an over the top challenge setting.

Even better! Add a new TF challenge setting where everyone on the team is granted Group Fly as an auto power.

That's only part of the reason it's despised. It's still not great even without the debuff because it restricts ones movements without a prompt. I'd be fine with it if it offered a prompt like teleport.

Actually a prompt to accept group fly would benefit many many teammates I have been in a group with where I craved it for the pets but knew I would be an outcast for using.

Team Teleport, the Group Fly equivalent for the Teleportation pool, also has no prompt.

If the entire team could fly through every mission and take pot shots and grounded npcs then the risk vs reward changes. Sure you can probably -def excessively and increase to hit but I think it awkward. I think there are some powers that you have to be grounded to use tie in perhaps with what the Devs don't or didn't want you to be able to do too.

Then make it like Repel from Kinetics, for each target it affects it'll knock of a tick of endurance that can't be reduced, making it difficult to maintain throughout a fight. Inconvenience of activating powers, a heavy endurance cost, and low ceilings all stand in the way of it being meaningful mitigation.

Now that the discussion is getting serious, I have to say I agree. I love the flight pool, but Group Fly is such a turd of a power. The only time I have found it to be useful is on those retarded cave missions with the big hole in the center of the room.

1. Remove the to hit debuff
2. Increase the granter-grantee radius so I don't have to be in your back pocket
3. Add a prompt like teleport to allow rejection of the power

Grp fly may seem like a new good power to some people despite all the alts they have but to some people with certain alts (clearly not every) its a good additionally level of flexibility that takes up one slot. Out of some 70 alts I would say 5 of mine might have it or are getting it.
