Sorry if I seem cynical, I just want more and this game can do more, just needs the right push.
It boggles my mind that the things I bolded above are something that fall under the list of things we would prioritize for CoH to match for its peers.

Guys, this game is going on seven years old. I want them to continue to push boundaries, but when we're talking about things this game can do to try and compete with brand new games whose engines are starting from ground zero with five-to-seven more years of PC and MMO innovation under the industry's belt, I think there's stuff that's going to get them way, way more mileage with way more people than this kind of visual fluff, even acknowledging that visual "fluff" is very important to a video game. Visuals are not going to bring people here from competing games if those games have better gameplay or content, and anyone who is going to leave this game for better eye candy alone probably wasn't going to stay no matter what.

Non-mitten hands that don't actually have individual bones for each finger they could slip in by accepting a potential hit to the minimum spec to the game. That's basically just a poly count increase per character model being rendered. More realistic faces, with things like bones or deformers for facial animation? That's tech that just doesn't exist here, and I have a hard time imagining adding it would be remotely trivial.

As I said I think I am getting cynical, and you are right 7 MMO active is not the same as 60+ years comic writing. Think I have reached "burned out" status.

With how often that universe gets rebooted, I say they only have a two year's worth of background material to draw from.

When you talk of raising the bar you would think of all or nothing. When I told my son that he can do something I tell him he can do more because I believe he can or he told me he can, so I tell him you done/set a expectation now have a goal and never stop achieving. So when you claim you reached something you should never rest on what you have now. Evolve, grow and that is how you win by never being complacent. For me that what City of did, they improved the environment(expectation for a changing market), head for the goal and win.

This ends all arguments. I concede to your point.

That's not the definition of "raising the bar" I either use with others or am regularly exposed to from other people. Raising the bar is just that: you set it higher than it was before. There's no expectation that you raise the bar to the stratosphere. For it to mater, you do have to move it upwards some meaningful amount, sure, but if your default is to move it to 10,000 feet, you're guaranteeing that no one will clear it when they finally jump.

Well, I am vaguely reassured.

Every issue and expansion they've come up with so far always seems to have at least one thing I can get happy over (although sometimes I have had to work at it ) and it sounds like that track record's not going to end anytime soon.

I dont think the rest of the alpha slot will be in the booster but part of i19.5.

I do think and agree that the booster will be animal related.

Interested to see this monthly big post by a dev and wonder just how long it will last for.

Wish we had a proper i19.5 tease for something for us to really wild speculate about

Where do you guys read "Strike pack"?
I read the interview and cant find nothing about Strike pack...
I think there will be a 19.5 patch before I20... A "Strike patch".
About boosters:
Ouroboros> Carnies> Animals...

It's probably a commonly-used shorthand for "anthropomorhpic animal," but it bugs me to see it used this way. "Anthro" means "Man." We already have plenty of "man-parts."

We made it up.

Massively: Are there any big plans for CoH's near future that can be discussed at this time?

WW: Sure! We have the Issue 19 Strike Pack, which is all the information I'm going to reveal just now (you're probably thinking, didn't they already release Issue 19? Yes, we did, but we have more for you); Issue 20 is in the middle of production, and I'm sure our players are going to very excited about that as it offers even more of our unique take on End Game systems; and we have an upcoming Booster Pack that players have been asking for, and that is going to be pretty awesome.
Oh wait, no, she says it.

Additionally, ever since [ninja run] was released with the martial arts pack, many people have been asking for some sort of beastly sprint that included bounding on all fours. Considering how relatively seamlessly the severe posture of [ninja run] blends with existing animations, it is not beyond the realm of possibility that a four footed beastly run power could happen without needing new skeletons for animation.

Lastly, the strike pack is most likely the last two tiers for the alpha slot. All of which are already outlined on the Going Rogue page. Perhaps it was held back either to pace the more voracious players or to work out some final kinks with the "level shift" that the highest tiers offer amongst their bonuses.
Trying not to get my hopes up, but I do want a beast run and more animal parts. Strike Pack is no doubt the second half of alpha (they even said before that they planned on doing that). Hopefully it has some more stuff too.

Oh and this is my favorite response:

DCUO will be somewhat unique in that it will launch on both the PC and the PS3 at once. CoH is currently playable on both the Mac and the PC; are there any plans for further platforms?

I wish them luck. Right now, we're focusing on the platforms we support and are neck deep in Issue 20.

Basically, "Yeah, console release worked great for CO; have fun with that DCUO, we'll be doing actual work."

Booster, no.

Issue, yes.

How would a booster with "base love" work? Few people work on the bases, compared with those that use it. If there's (for instance) a 4-location teleporter, do you not get to use it unless you also bought the "Base booster?" Not get to see the items on the wall/floor/etc? If it's (for instance) new wall textures, do you just see the generic one unless you have the pack?

Costumes are account specific, and don't really require interaction from anyone else. Bases are (generally) a shared resource.

Unless you suffered a very nasty accident with heavy duty tools then you'd definitely be after more "man-parts."

Yeah it's kind of obvious that the new booster is going to be the long awaited (for most people) animal pack.

Even the new dev post suggested it (saying we would be "going wild over it").

Though I would still personally assassinate SexyJay for the Carnie outfit but then thinking this through it's been what...6 months or more since the 'All things art' talk started...so we're looking at quite a while to mull things over.

Well, prior dev comments have indicated that the Incarnate material won't necessarily coincide with the issue release schedule. Besides, it's something else (besides events) they can drop between issue releases.

This^^^. They said they were going to start doing mini-issues way back at, Comic-Con, was it? Second Coming or whatever his name is said that Incarnate Strike (19.5) was going to drop within a few weeks.

According to the newly released producer's letter, it should drop in the next few weeks. Some other interesting news there, as well. My fave -- double XP weekend this month!

Well yeah but do you agree with me that they wont be PAID FOR content? Maybe in the future after it isnt so new, but i really dont think they will make us PAY for content, we all know how that went down in the other game.
