I don't even know what "aots" stands for. I've never watched G4, ever. I know that's a serious blow to my geek cred, but there it is.
Attack of the Show is a daily show about stuff guys in their teens and 20s care about: movies, TV, comics, cool gadgets and, of course, hot girls. Munn was the female co-host for the last four years or so.

Saying she's not that hot is far too common on the internet versus reality. I know a girl who is similar in build, but wouldn't be deemed as attractive as Munn and I'll be damned if I was disappointed if I could get her to go out with me.

Also Olivaa appeared in Playboy, DID NOT show her nekkid naughty parts and now several of her old fans hope, wish and pray that her career goes down in flames for that.

Ahhhh, I remember when people posted on these forums that she was a tease or a hypocrite for being in Playboy but not being naked. They couldn't handle the idea that a woman enjoyed being sexy but had limits. It was hilarious.

Tactless guy signing back in...

This was kind of my whole point after reading all of the negative comments the OP made about Olivia Munn through the course of this thread. I don't get starstruck by anyone and have to say Munn isn't the be all to end all, but cmon. "She's not talented enough or hot enough to get very far", not hot enough compared to who exactly? I've known some hot women, I've known some funny women and I've known some talented women, but they were all separate entities and none were as hot/funny as OM. So it seemed I sensed a bit of haterism with a trace of obssessiveness by the OP.

Also...
"Attack of the Show is a daily show about stuff guys in their teens and 20s care about: movies, TV, comics, cool gadgets and, of course, hot girls. Munn was the female co-host for the last four years or so."

This is very true, once guys hits their 30th year...they are no longer interested in movies, TV, comics, cool gadgets and hot girls.

I didn't say she was unattractive, nor did I say she wasn't funny, nor did I ever say anything about her playboy appearance or that I wanted her off AOTS...

I said not hot enough or funny enough in general compared to most other people out there to succeed. The reason she is funny on AOTS as was mentioned in other threads is her reaction to Kevin and the awkwardness she is put in. Same with her "hotness" appeal, she is considered "hot" mainly because AOTS makes her dress up in geek fantasy stuff. Without these things she loses pretty much all the appeal that she has and on top of that she is being put on air with immensely funny people which makes her stand out as not funny/talented. The same will likely be said of her show, so she'll end up looking worse than she actually is...same way as on AOTS she looks way better than she actually is.

Also, I am discussing her and the position of her losing her status in a conversation about that so how is that obsessed? Do you know what that word means? Also not to mention that entire conversation is more or less an addition onto what I wanted to say to add more content and was never meant to be the main focus...which was AOTS after several months stopped pretending she was coming back.

Not really. Most geeks hate G4 from what I've seen.

TLDR WARNING

obssessed - having or showing excessive or compulsive concern with something
I'd say your Munn comments are a lil obssessive as is my need to respond to you.

"So Olivia Munn, officially fell off the edge of the world finally apparently..."
- An appearance in Iron Man2 and grabbing the the cover and a spread in Playboy as well as Rolling Stone to name a few recent items may say differently, but we probably just have different definitions of falling off the edge of the world.

"an unfunny person on one of the funniest comedy shows... yeah... she's fell off the edge of the world...or teetering"
- I must have been watching different episodes of AOTS b/c the ones I've seen have OM being pretty funny outside of the Kevin Pereira influence (I don't think you'll find a hotter Wonder Woman or Baroness in modern times). I'm also sure that The Daily Show randomly/regularly signs up "unfunny" people in order to lower the ratings because they're at the top already and have nothing to lose.

"I bet you she'll not be on the top 100 hottest women of the world this year"
- I'll take that bet and raise you (see the pix of the above stated Playboy/Rolling Stones spread).

"She's not talented enough or hot enough to get very far"
- From a few months ago, "Olivia Munn: "I'm easy to hate. I get it". I think she actually mentioned your CoH handle in in this magazine interview, Durakken.
"It's a rather stressful time to be Olivia Munn. In June, the 30-year-old landed one of the most coveted spots in late-night, as a female correspondent on "The Daily Show," an accomplishment that unleashed a surprising geyser of commentary and criticism about women and comedy..."
Obviously the epitome of untalentness...
I will not even dignify your comments about her not being hot enough to be on TV compared to other TV people in general.

"I am saying that she was lucky to get where she was, and more than likely her trying to go further will result in her being shown she's not talented which means she is going to end in a worse position"
- Yeah, even though she was a fashion model while living in Japan as an AF brat, attended the Univ of Okhlahoma majoring in journalism, interned as a reporter with Fox Sports covering college football/basketball and did meh TV and movies in the early 2000s before landing AOTS...I'd say you are absolutely right. She just got lucky and everything shes popping off with now is simply a fluke.

You sir, have an uncanny insight into reality that is not to be reckoned with.

I would love to know what you consider excessive or compulsive, because, again, apparently conversing about something that is the subject of the discussion seems to be what qualifies. And as such everyone who has made a comment on this thread is obsessed by your standard.

Maybe you think excessive means "someone who disagrees with me and I need to call them a name"

Well, there are at least 5 items that I quoted you saying which all seem to be false after I took 10mins to look up Munn. I am not sure how else to describe all the negative comments on your part other than being slightly obssessive. Three pages later, I still feel that your perspective of OM and her "lack of success" seems strange. You don't have to believe me, look at the posts that everyone else have submitted that disagree with you. I don't think there is one person here that has agreed with you, which in of itself doesn't mean you are wrong...but dogs don't chase parked cars (thanks for presenting the opportunity for me to use one of my fave sayings).

If you now want to quibble over my use of the word obssessive after I debunked your statements, ok...I'll give up on that. Would 'strong dislike' be a better description of your feelings in this post?

no no.

Obsessive is the appropriate term for this behavior.

v.v Obsessive does not mean "I disagree with you."

As far as the rest of your post, that does not support your "you are obsessed" ********. It supports the opinion that I may be wrong that this is a bad career move for her.

To show that I'm obsessed you would have to show that I've somehow thought about her or brought her up a lot and off topic continuously.

So you are factually wrong about me being obsessed. Saying someone is crazy when they are not is wrong and when they are is stupid, but it's in common parlance so I'll let that pass. And comparing someone to a murderer with no other characteristic that one would ascribe to him is just plain asinine.

Ok man, I'm going to stop being so obssessed with your off the wall opinions about how untalented, unfunny and unhot Olivia Munn is compared to everyone else in the general TV pool and how shes going nowhere since leaving AOTS. I will apologize for making a comparison between you and Chapman since you haven't been able to grasp the concept that I presented 3x stating I was not suggesting that you are a muderer...just crazy for making all of these wacky OM statements.

I fancied our debate, you gave me a solid tug...please carry on old chap.

You've made a dozen posts (out of around 50) so far, either emphasizing your dislike for Ms Munn's career choices or defending your minority opinions on said dislike. If you're not obsessed, you're (as you said earlier) "teetering".

Also, you can't be wrong or right if it's just an opinion, which is what your original post is. The facts to which you base your opinions on can be wrong (and several people have been pointing them out for you, which you choose to ignore), but the opinion itself is only that.

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

Again, taking part in a discussion does not constitute "obsession" You said something, i can respond to it so I do. That isn't any more obsessed than, well, anyone that gets in a conversation where they are in the minority. If one person has to answer 5 obviously they are going to be responding more than any other one person.

And yeah I know that. And actually I don't think I ever expressly stated that I thought it was a bad move. I asked if it was a bad move and then said why it could be considered and then through conversation twisted the wording, as often is the case in conversation into taking an absolute position when in reality I have no position even though I do lean more to the idea that is a bad decision.

Ms Munn, due to her presence on G4, the fact they sent her to E3, SDCC and similar events and have her dress up as Slave Leia or Wonder Women, is the manufactured version of the "geek girl" according to cable conglomerates. As oppose to organically grown ones like Felicia Day, Danica McKellar, Kari Byron, et al.

She has about as much geek cred as most network anchors have journalism cred.

I never said guys in their 30s, 40s or older don't care about such things. 18-24 is just the demographic AOTS is aimed at.

You never said guys 30+ weren't interested in AOTS, you just said that its a show that guys in their teens and 20s were interested in.
I looked it up and could only find this, "...is due in part to the fact that G4's target demographic (males 12-34)...". You were pretty close.

Did you actually watch the link I posted to the trailer for the show? I don't think there will be an issue of her being around funny/talented people. The show comes across as being devoid of anything being funny.

technically none, cuz a JerseyMan has not posted :P

CrazyJerseyan however has tried to say that i'm obsessive and crazy based on me having a position of this is a bad career move for Olivia Mun, him disagreeing with that position, and the fact that I've discussed why I may think that.

He or She hasn't actually tried to explain what obsession is, other than using the dictionary definition which leads one to having to apply the term to anyone who has a discussion and speaks an inordinate amount compared to others in that discussion if we use his or her usage. Of course when that is mentioned he or she says "I am not sure how else to describe all the negative comments on your part other than being slightly obsessive." Which means it comes down to his or her ignorant perception and bastardization of language which he or she is trying to defend.
