I rarely use freespecs unless I'm about to get another, so my comment was along those lines. As in, since there's already one sitting there and you don't use it, you'll lose it.

Fine. If you don't respec, you don't lose the powerset, but you also don't get the freespec so it doesn't really matter anyway.

Okay, now that my manic laugh is out of the way, let me put it this way:

If no freespec is granted within a reasonable timeframe* of Issue 19 going live, I will do the following:

Respec all of my characters using earned respecs and vetspecs, to free up my purple IO's (not many, but a few).

Pool all of my influence across both of my accounts (maybe a billion, certainly at least 750 million).

Email all of the above to the EU player who first posts their global name beneath mine in this thread.

* In this context, a reasonable timeframe is defined as: Within 14 days of Issue 19 being released on the live servers, barring technical issues that the rednames on the forums notify the player-base of within those 14 days. Should NCSoft/Paragon Studios state prior to the release of Issue 19 that a freespec is intended, they are considered to have met their obligation to grant a freespec within a reasonable timeframe, and this offer is rendered null and void. Should NCSoft announce the closure of the game between the time of this post and 14 days after the release of Issue 19, then said pending closure of the game renders this offer null and void.

I'm afraid that I am 100% confident that I will not lose any of my inf or purples.

No freespec with Issue 19... heh. Good one.

Issue 4 I believe; we've had one every issue from i5 on... a couple of times we've had two. The last time I recall having two freespecs for an issue was somewhere in the issue 10-12 area. The reason for that is that we get a "use it or loose it" warning a few days prior to a new freespec being given out so we can use the old one if we haven't already and that time they forgot to give warning so we got another about a week later.

Most of my characters have enough respecs saved up anyway to make it mostly a moot point for me; I only have two characters who don't have at least 3 vetspecs saved and most still have 2-3 Terra Volta respecs they can do. This is the first time in over a year that I'll be respecing all my characters; generally I tend to plan things out in advance and build for my final goal from the beginning. Issue 19 is going to be a lot of work for me, 15 level 50's to respec and a whole bunch in the 20-47 range. I'm not complaining about getting a substantial buff to every character though.

You must not have run the villain patron arcs. The freespec given from the freespec arc stacks with an existing freespec from any other source.

Patronspecs are not considered freespecs. I have one, but never used it - is it usable via /respec?

No, it is not. You go and talk to an Arbiter like the other earned respecs. So, really, it's not a freespec.

Well technically both the respec recipe and the holiday respec are freespecs even though you earn them .

Actually, I was just trying to further stress the oxymoron that they aren't free because you buy them. I didn't mean to imply there isn't still a degree of earning for them as well. You'd still have to do tasks to get the money or candy canes to be able to buy them (the holiday respec in particular)... unless of course somebody just handed you those resources.

Ah, very valid point then. Many folks though seem to suffer under the delusion that you *have* to buy things, and tend to forget that the ultimate source of everything is running missions (or street-sweeping etc), either for tickets and merits, or just plain drops. Wanted to clarify for any folks that thought that.

Looks like my inf and purples are safe (did I mention I knew they would be?) - news from the M&G is that we're getting two freespecs in I19, one on release, one a week later.

So, sorry @Pix, you're not going to be able to nab your husband's inf and enhancements that easily...
