So, what are ya' doing this Halloween?

I went to a Halloween party as Doctor Horrible. The hardest part was getting someone to tailor the jacket for me in time.

I went as "The Creepy Uncle" for my friend's party. A robe and smoking pipe always on the ready, I'd stroke my mustache slowly as I gave fellow partygoers flimsy and ill-conceived reasons that they deserved the candies I had in my deep, deep pockets.

HAH brilliant!

I love a good concept.

We had The Creepy Neighbor at our party, but he lacked your RP backstory so you win (plus he kept taking off his old man mask, which ruined the effect). =D

Though for the third year in a row no ToTers. Gonna stop if I get none next year. Most of last night was spent getting badges for one character in game, eating the ten pounds of candy I had ready to give away and playing Costume Quest on my PS3.

The night before, I attended probably the best party in the North Bay of California, the Exotic Zone Ball at the Cal Expo in Sacramento. There were some pretty amazing costumes there, as seen in this video I took. There were some more sexy costumes which I can't post, plus 4 states (in different rooms) with 1 live performance, and 3 djs with different types of music. They even had a stage in the smoking area which I never seen before at any event. Needless to say that stage was very popular. Plus they had many different activities there, like a bungee jump, a fun house (like in Greese), a giant twister board, a mechanical bull, and other things which I can't post.

The next day I spent watching horror movies, episodes of Ghost Hunters as well as the pilot for Walking Dead, while handing out candy. All in all a super awesome weekend! It's no wonder why Halloween is my favorite of all holidays.

Very nice. And thanks Nightblade, though I'm actually the sterotypical dangerously-thin-nerd Trekkie, lol.

Saturday night I was a scare-er for an Edgar Allen Poe presentation at a local historical mansion/house. Then I went to a Halloween "party" dressed as a steampunk mad scientist.

Sunday night, went to a friends house sans costumery and watched The Walking Dead and then Hellraiser.

Hey, very nice! There's a similar place in Toronto that I saw when I was there. And my avatar is actually a photo taken in a bar in Ann Arbor, Michigan of a window painted with that decoration. I guess James Joyce is big among bar owners.

"Halloween" is short for "All Hallow's Evening" meaning "the night before All Saints Day", which is celebrated on November 1. Moving Halloween would be like continuing to celebrate Christmas Day on Dec 25, but celebrating Christmas Eve on October 1.

Edit: too many witches, I mean "which's". Easy mistake to make considering the subject matter.

First year in my own house, so me and the wife decided to have the ToTers walk back to our patio and get the candy from the back of a small "haunted house" we set up. Had all of 14 kids, but dressing up and showing them the way back to the bowl in my "Doctor Psychosis" costume which is based on one of my CoH villains.

Then I watched the Walking Dead on AMC.

All in all, a fun night. Anyone want some extra candy? o_O

"I may," he said with a grin that would have sent sane men scampering for the trees, "have been imagining it."

Trick-or-Treaters never come to my apartment complex. Plus, Electric Six was playing in my area, and that's one band I'd walk through gunfire to see live. So, I spent the evening doing that. Half the audience was in costume, and I accepted candy from a stranger who was dressed as Satan.

Its from the Super Girl storyline called "New Krypton". Not a widely known costume, not like Superman or Batman but most people who've followed Superman or Super Girl for the past year or two would recognize it.

I actually commissioned it from a seller in China. I can sew and have made other costumes in the past but metallic spandex (actually, any spandex) is a pain the rear to sew. I can commission to have it made as cheaply as I could make it myself so I go ahead and save myself the trouble.

This is VERY INTERESTING to me as I often have costume ideas that are far beyond the bounds of my modest construction abilities.

How did you go about finding a manufacturer? Did you have to send them a pattern, or just a visual reference?

reminds me, I should post some shots from the party....
