Ceramic Armor Plate wth?
I think it took two people.
One person COULD have done it but it was, in fact, two people engaging in some kind of race. I was not one of them, but they were discussing it on a global channel that I am on.

Part of the low supply issue with salvage is that the ToT mobs don't drop salvage, so things are a little weird right now. That obviously doesn't explain whatever's going on with Ceramic Armor, but it could explain some other shortages.
Alot of the problem is also that there is an outstanding AE exploit which is discouraging people from fighting normal content. And almost nobody turns tickets in for common salvage rolls.
Well, apparently I can't sell stacks of salvage anymore. Every time I try, the market takes my 5%, shows the listing price as 0 each, and they never sell. Normally I just throw whatever I find on WW at low prices, but it's so tedious listing them one at a time that I've taken to deleting the common stuff. I don't know if other folks have that problem too, but that could impact supply.

I've never had this problem.

What i want to know is what the last 7 was listed for. I gave up at 16 mill.
It's been happening with other white salvage as well. Spirit thorns, Nevermelting Ice, etc have all been at super low supply, and with some bids hitting the 1 million + range. I logged in the other day and saw I had sold a Regenerating flesh for 1.5 million. I thought it was a typo, but the other bid winners in the last 5 were all 800k+ lol. |
Also can´t speak for cc but i bought and deleted them because i was bored.
The other day i boght and deleted 700 computer viruses and saw the next day that it hadnt really recovered.
So i bought 4500 and deleted all but 5. couple of hours later there were only 25 on the market.
Will be interesting to see how fast comp virus and ceramic plates build up again after the halloween event is over.

Those are very common in popular recipies. ToTing not generating any salvage makes those scarce. Also can´t speak for cc but i bought and deleted them because i was bored. Any idea how much you spent on that? I imagine the first thousand or so must have gone cheap but I'd be interested to know how high you had to go to crack the upper crust.
Edit: Oh I missed the "16 mil" part of your post. Duh. Any idea what the total cost was though?

I think I spent less than 20 million total on my share.
Also; see new signature
I've had that happen but have still seen the items sell.

Try a lower price. Remember just because last 5 sales may have gone at higher than your offer price, it doesn't mean you are the lowest outstanding offerer.
Ooh, a sarcasm detector. Oh, that's a *real* useful invention. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technolog...t-sarcasm.html
Hm, I'll try again then. I don't really care if they don't show the right price, as long as they still sell.
Maybe I shouldn't have deleted all those ceramic armor plates...
Also, the flippers take advantage of shortages to drive up prices.

Undoubtedly, people do mess around with common salvage, especially when something else is messing with supply (like ToT is now), but these people aren't flippers, they are anarchists. :P

Every now and then a market user, usually one with deep pockets, looks at things with many thousands available and decides they don't like that. Sometimes it's a whim, sometimes it's some (strange?) desire to see the item worth selling again, but they buy it all up.
Given the generally slow salvage supply due to ToT, there may be some profit goal in play, but high-level commons are a terrible target for such schemes in general. (It may work, but for the effort they could probably make 10x as much inf working some other product.)
My bet is that a week after ToT ends there will be thousands for sale again.

@Boltcutter in game.
The easy solution in times like these is to simply delay slotting IOs for a bit. If you are buying salvage to craft and sell...well hopefully your margins are wide enough to absorb the input price increases.
Earlier this year I saw some salvage with 11,000+ for sale. I decided to buy everything available for under 1M, but after getting about 6,000 off the market and deleted I grew weary of my silliness. May try it again some day, but the effort just wears on me after the first few thousand.

When supply is minimal there's no price floor to prop up, the price floor and the price ceiling are basically the same, leaving no room for flippers to operate.
Besides the ToT enemies not dropping invention salvage there are a couple of super efficient MA farms running right now that are sucking in a ton of players racing to cash in before the devs change the rules.
As mentioned, nobody wastes tickets on common salvage, so......
I've been hoovering up big piles of underpriced rare salvage which I'll re-list once they fix MA for fat profits. I suggest y'all do the same. =D

I buy this salvage nearly daily in quantity for a certain IO I manufacture. Less than 48 hours ago the supply for sale was north of eight thousand, and had been for weeks, if not months. Today I logged on and there are exactly twenty five for sale. Does someone really have the ability to suck up over 8k of something in that period of time? There is no way this is regular demand, I have been following this salvage for a long time, and never seen it do anything like this.
