It's a waste if you're looking to maximize profits, but I'm sure your friends appreciate your largess. =)

For what it's worth, about a week before Misaligned started anti-flipping them, I bought up and destroyed about 1,800 spirit thorns. I was inspired by Nethergoat's neverselling ice thread.

It really was enlightening. I had read the stuff here, but to watch as stuff still went up and sold for cheap while I was burning through them was very interesting. A few hours later the number of bids had shot up to 300-400 as people were trying to capitalize on it. A couple days later, the stock remained low and the prices remained low with 0 bids on it. Then Misaligned started in .

I've been doing it a LOT more lately.
If the prices are beyond what I'm willing to pay, it also means I'll make a little bank on any excess that I generate while rolling for what I really need.
Thanks to the "ebil" marketeers, yes, thank you VERY much.

I rolled a bunch of commons last night, just for kicks. Filled up my inventory with mid-level Arcanes and made a few million inf. As noted, not that profitable, but selling 'junk' salvage for 50k+ always tickles my funnybone.

The crazy common prices have put a temporary halt to Crafticus' quest for Field Crafter. With my usual 'craft for profit' targets salvage costs are irrelevant, but with commons you sort of have to pay attention. I'm shelving him until after the holiday event.

Funny that I randomly picked a salvage you went after, shortly after you went after it.

Funnier still that I had no idea you had done it. I saw 0 indication. In fact, I chose it because it appeared to be something that no one messed with

Even funnier yet that people will assert that this means we firmly believe that flipping, makes puppies shoot rainbows from their eyes.

Spirit thorns are hard to get? I've not had a problem, just bid on a stack for 500 each and go do a mish, by the time I'm done it's filled.

It entirely depends when you want them. If you happen to be bidding in the middle of a shortage, or someone actively buying 1000's up and deleting them in order to create a temporary shortage, and then dump a few hundred back on the market for 500k each, then you won't be filling any stack orders for low prices very quickly. Once the shortage is over, and the situation somewhat stabilizes, then yes, those stacks can be bought very quickly, and for low prices. The price can change from 200, up to 1 million per, then back to 200 in a single playing hour during these times. I've seen it happen fairly commonly lately on all sorts of salvage.

Yes, some of it is related to ToT mobs not dropping salvage etc, and apparently another AE exploit, but it can happen in other "normal times" if someone decides to mess with the market for kicks, but most likely profit.

I forget which salvage I saw the other day, but it was yellow and had 50 for sale and 13000(!!!) bidding. lol. Crazy... Might have been an Alchemical Gold, but possibly could have been a common Alchemical Silver.

Yup, me too! I've been running my farm maps in order to get salvage just because I don't feel like dealing with the market supply/demand bubble right now. And the excess sells pretty sweet because of the selfsame bubble
