So, what's left?
If I could work on one new power set/type/effect, it would probably be power siphoning. Which is to say, replicating the powers of nearby targets.
I even have a balanced way to implement this that requires minimal additional tech, albeit with a rather sophisticated but precalculated power matrix (which I also have a pretty good idea how to construct). The problem is I don't know what possible archetypal association this could have. It might have to be its own special archetype, which creates a barrier to adding such a thing to the game. |
Everything I have to say has probably already been said before but...
Melee: Staff, Polearm, energy/psionic weapon(s), Heavy Two handed sword.
Blast/Ranged: A dedicated Full Automatic rifle set, a dedicated rifle set (I've actually done a write up of one before), a dedicated shotgun set (okay, this is stretching it a little), elemental blasting (acceptable if left out due to DP's existence and possible balance concerns), demolitions/explosives (The Rocket launcher power would have a chance to crit for MASSIVE damage), toxic/poisonous blast
Control: Traps/gadgets, dark control, weather control (because Doms don't know the beauty that is Storm Summoning, gotta have a heart for 'em)
Armor: Bushido/vaguely samurai/noble warrior-esque (I kind of see basically it being a cross between shield and ninjutsu, and hey, he do have ninjutsu as it is, why not look at the other end of the spectrum? But still give it to stalkers they need new armors), Feral instincts/berserker themed, nature themed (think maybe a storm or plant armor)
Buff/Debuff: Nature theme (like DE stuff), Leadership/psychic (like what the VEATs have, only, you know, more stuff of buff and debuff),
Minion: Battle Servants, Medieval themed minions, mutants, aberrations, insects, beasts/animals.
Other: Rifle, Dark, Radiation assault, martial arts/natural theme manipulation set, dark manipulation, (don't tease us with just Soul mastery, man!), countless EPP/APP/PPP (maybe without the patron part).

(As an aside, he could not do both at once, so if he had shields up, he couldn't shoot - like PPF I guess in that regard.)

Fiery whip (a la Demon Summoning) for scrappers/brutes. Mmmm.
A chaos blast set, with random debuffs randomly selected! Okay, that one's probably not likely, due to the game engine, nor would it be ubarrrrrr, but it would be FUN.
Oh, and another one that will never be possible, but elastic melee. We need to be able to build the entire Fantastic 4!
Plastic powers. (Mr. Fantastic, plastic man, clay face, sandman etc.)
Giant growth / shrinking . (Apache chief, giant man, wasp, ant man, atom)
Motorcycle/ helicopter, swinging / wall crawling travel power.
predators (mastermind set with pets of wolves, hawks, bears, lions/tigers?)
energy absorption buff/debuff set. (your fireball heals me now!)
Technically Ice is already "water".
You have Ice, Fire, Earth and Storm (Air). 4 whole elements covered. |
Granted, Ice is made out of water, however Ice and Water are both completely different.
Difference between Ice and Water:
-Ice is the solid form of water.
-Ice is cold while water doesn't have to be.
-Ice is more compact than water.
So basically, Water control will have different effects rather than Ice. (ie -Recharge etc.)
I'd like to see a grappling set. Throws, body slams, suplexes, etc. It might require more interaction with the opponent than the game engine can handle though.

I want a shield offense power that includes throwing the shield and I want a modifiable force field power where the force fields are used to make objects, ala a Green Lantern ring.

Nitpicking aside, I've always thought pumicites (or something like them) would make a good MM set. They have three distinct tiers, they look cool, and they already exist in the game

I would love to see a water set, though I think it would be best as a Control set. Water Blast is very appealing, but I think the secondary effects as well as the animations (to a degree) would look too similar to Energy Blast.
I've already mentioned Staff melee, that seems to go across the board. Some kind of Throwing blast set, with customizable knives, thorns, shurikans, etc. would be cool too.

Doppelganger tech to be applied to some of the pets from Controllers and Dominators as an alternate option please. :3 I want my Phantom Army and Phantasm to look like me, but all ghosty and everything.
