  1. I have a fire/dark corruptor that recolored to all white. Name's Purifying Light, gives you an idea of the concept.
  2. Whip melee set for scrappers
A second balance pass on HEAT's

and if I'm getting really greedy:

    Villain content for HEAT's

And Jibikao, I completely agree with what you said about stalkers. They're what got me into thinking about this the most. There's no denying that they're meant for single target killing, and I just never understood what a stalker could do in a team that a scrapper or blaster couldn't do either.
When it comes to killing hard/annoying targets, there is no substitute for a good stalker. Seriously, they're awesome. People just tend to get so focused on the AoE that they forget how nice it is to have the boss dead before the minions.

Then again, who am I to say anything, I'm playing a human-only warshade right now. :P

Hello my baby, hello my darling...

    Oh, sorry.

Maybe I'm just too new to Khelds, but the forms don't bother me much. Some color customization might be cool, but the forms are such an integral part of the class, excessive modification seems...dunno, out of character, for lack of a better phrase.
  5. Thanks so much for all of the advice.

Having read the forums a bit, I had skipped Fire Cages since it seemed the consensus was that it worked against Hot Feet too much. Sounds like I need to give it a go and see how it works specifically with Flashfire.

It's funny, I really had to stop a moment and look at things to realize that the 1.5 min recharge on Flashfire isn't that much, especially with the amount of recharge I'll be looking at in the future. I've begun slotting it and using it whenever it's up, and hoo baby, does that make things easier! Even without Fire Cages, it's really effective to Flashfire then jump into melee, since Hot Feet slows them down enough to get out the Combustion.

Thanks again dom forum, you've definitely helped me out and renewed my love for this build.
  6. I've been messing around with doms now for a bit, and have played fire/fire, earth/fire, and earth/earth (there's a theme in there somewhere...).

I really enjoyed the damage and chaos that fire/fire can do, but I was having serious survival issues in the lower levels. I think I stopped at 18 when I realized a 3 minion spawn could conceivably kill me.

I was curious how fire/fire builds survive in the mid levels, before the crazy recharge that allows you to do funny stuff. It seems the only real defense you have is Char and Hot Feet, but Hot Feet is horrible on the end bar and still allows things to hit you before they run away again.

I'd love some tips on survival, I'm liking doms quite a bit, and the fire/fire build just sounded so fun, but I can't live long enough to do it!
  7. My recommendation is check your browser.

I had this problem, the NCSoft site wouldn't allow me to buy anything with Firefox. Switched to IE (ick), and it worked fine.

If nothing else, if you're using a different browser, you can try switching to IE for the transaction and see if it works.

Virtue must be a better server for stalkers. I've actually been on tf's with 3 stalkers before.

And before you laugh, it's actually pretty nice. Any problem mobs tend to vaporize after 3 Assassin Strikes.

Oh, and my kat/wp scrapper loves everyone. Seriously, any power combo in my book is great. Well, maybe not energy blast, but honestly, even constant KB doesn't bother me much.
  9. Only 45 on my kat/wp scrapper currently, but went from slightly challenging on 0/x2 (no sets yet) to slightly boring on 0/x3. Woot!

Also went from an unsustainable attack chain to a completely sustainable attack chain even with 8 toggles running.

So yeah, pretty darn nice in my book.
  10. While I agree BS is nice for the sound, very little in my book matches a nice Crane Kick to the face, to see the ragdoll body fly off into the sunset.

Double points for doing it off a roof.
  11. I would really like to see new animations for either broadsword or katana (probably bs, since it's one-handed) to resemble chinese sword fighting styles.

Think Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon or that crazy chick from Soulcaliber.

Wide, sweeping strikes, extended movements, and a lot of sidesteps and thrusts. Parry would be especially awesome, if you look at the parry/counterattack animations from Soulcaliber.

    So, what's left?

I've chimed in a few times in a few other threads, but...

Fiery whip (a la Demon Summoning) for scrappers/brutes. Mmmm.

A chaos blast set, with random debuffs randomly selected! Okay, that one's probably not likely, due to the game engine, nor would it be ubarrrrrr, but it would be FUN.

Oh, and another one that will never be possible, but elastic melee. We need to be able to build the entire Fantastic 4!
  13. I still have one dm/regen scrapper on Virtue whom I have not touched, and is still specced and slotted for pre-ED.

I load him up and cry to myself every so often. Partly because of the glory gone, partly because the game is so much better now.

Well, 5 technically, since Taunt/Provoke take up a slot, but yeah. I suppose that would be more like a new set.

    Still, want.
  15. I don't know if anybody has said this or not, but...

I would give a kidney for a whip set like the one from DS for scrappers/brutes.

    A kidney, I tell you.

Here is the 411 on Fireball. Hope this help's.

    Really! Well, color me dumbfounded.

I'll admit I was wrong. And I'm kinda glad, although it still won't change my slotting on AoE's.

I guess it's simply a psychological effect, for the most part.
  17. AoE's tend to have an inherent ACC penalty. Not sure precisely what the numbers are for Fireball, but it is guaranteed to hit less than any of your single target shots.

Double-acc it until you get to SO's, or run Tactics.
  18. I must admit, that I'm okay with +1 mobs in missions. It's a bit of a challenge, and that's fun.

However, in my experience it's been more than that. My level 9 MA/Inv Scrapper was soloing last night, and I entered the "stop the Clockwork before the Skulls arrive" mission. +1 Clockwork, not too bad. Until I stepped around a corner, and saw 3 level 10 Cannon Knights, surrounded by 2 10 Oscillators and 1 10 Sprocket. Okay...that's not so cool.

After popping 5 insps, including 3 Lucks, and suicidally jumping into the fray, I take out the two Oscillators, the Sprocket, two of the Knights and seriously damage the third. I croaked when the FOURTH level 10 Cannon Knight and the SECOND Sprocket hit me. They were standing next to the other guys, just around the corner.

Now, this was a "clear" mission, so I had to kill them all. They were all grouped in a 15-20 foot radius. There was no way to pull any out.

While my 18 Blaster may have had a chance at a fight like that, there's no way my level 9 Scrapper can possibly survive that fight. And I didn't.

So +1's in missions isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I'd have to argue against it myself. While powergamers might find something like that interesting at level 9, any casual player is going to think of quitting after a sight like that. The only reason I even survived that long was because I am a more hardcore gamer, I can't even imagine what a casual player would have done in that situation...die 5 or 6 times?

So really, for the lower levels, I don't think +1's are smart. For higher levels, sure! I'd be all for that. But please, let the lower levels be a little easier on my nerves
