Horrid Halloween Costume Drop Rates

I got word back from a more capable GM. Apparently, you're not supposed to get temp powers outside of your level, but it's not supposed to block costumes. So it looks like a patch is needed. So if you want costumes, solo or be the team lead.

I solo'd a 40 mm in the pyramid and got heaps of costumes pretty quickly. When I teamed a lowbie for 2 hours the only treats I got was salvage (I was constantly checking my powers list for them and not one).
I went back to my mm.

Same experience as others here I see. Was in PI, ssk'd no costume drops, although I did get the Clothes Horse badge and when I tried soloing or teaming in a zone level appropriate, got costume drops/ tip drops.

I hope that's not WAI, devs need to understand that teaming on smaller servers for these events can be critical. Anyhooooo, I'm still enjoying stuff, sooo here's hoping for a patch and extension =D

Well I'm going to go with the SSK system being the cuplrit. I teamed Friday night for 3 hours with my SG which SK'd me up to a 50 and not a single costume drop (but plenty of halloween salvage). Then I took my level 35 toon (same toon) to Brickstown on Saturday and joined a TOTing group which exemped me to 31 and again not a single costume drop. I quit the team, clicked a door and immediately had costume after costume.

So this cannot be WAI but it's too late for them to hunt it down now I'm sure. So best advice is solo TOT in level appropriate zones.

It seems that if you get within 3 levels of the team leader, you start being able to get drops. Someone who leveled to 47 on a team with a 50 leader started getting costume drops. This was without training, so it seems that it's "real" combat level that matters.

(I too have gotten Clothes Horse after having received not a single costume while SSKd. So it seems the game knows we're generating recipes and crediting us on that basis. We just don't get the drop. Definitely feels like a bug on that basis.)

The 3 levels thing is interesting: sounds like a holdover from old SKing, since that was a critical level under that system.

Level 28 SK'd to a 38 in Brickstown. 2.5 hours of play, no costumes... but then I only got 4 treats all night too.

Dunno, that doesn't line up with the level 47 SSK'd on a 50's team thing. No drops at level 46, plenty at level 47 was what was reported. The levels were gained while ToTing.

i am having the same problem,my lvl 43 preatoria dom was sk to a lvl 50 group Toting in PI on freedom,I click on a door, get tricks, and get salvage, but no costumes show up, when i look at my badges, i have progress,6/10 for first one, but see NO costume powers on my toon.I am getting halloween salvage .

I brought this thread to the attention of the devs and we now have a motd about it and hopefully they can fix this issue quickly. Thanks for the fast response devs.

Every character I have used for TOTing has gotten costume drops, several in fact, and I usually only solo.
However, I wanted to post this in case people are making a common error.
If you have all your trays full you won't see a drop in the inventory. You have to go to your powers list, scroll down as each new power is at the bottom of the Temp list, and click on it to add it to an open spot on a tray.
If you haven't looked on your powers list, and assume it should just be in your tray inventory, then that is the common error I speak of.
Sometimes we all forget to look on the refrigerator door for the ketchup too.
