Halloween Event now on Test!
Question : Is the normal rule of being 20+ supposed to apply to the holloween tip missions?

Does the Halloween tip drop as a possible Treat, or from defeating ToT spawns? And does it have a higher or lower drop rate than normal tips? I've clicked on a lot of doors and defeated a lot of enemies while wearing a costume, and so far nada.
Edit: I have received a Tip from defeating a ToT mob, but it was one of the normal Hero tips my rogue can receive while in Paragon City.

Are players receiving the Tip Mission as a potential reward for Trick or Treating while under the effects of a temporary Costume (and only from Trick or Treating while using a temporary Costume)?

If I'm understanding this right, are we supposed to only be able to get the Tip while wearing the temp costumes from the Halloween event? If the ones from the conventions and meet-ups (or forum games) count as well, then some people will have an advantage since they don't need to wait for a costume drop first.
Not that I'd mind, since I'm one of those lucky people... but still...
Something that may or may not be working as intended. I tried trick or treating while using one of the special costume codes that was added to my account (I was using Carnival Harlequin, so one that's available from the Halloween event as well), and got the Tip. So I didn't need to wear a costume I got from the Halloween event itself to get it.

Repeated the tipp mission, was exactly the same, killed the EB, again no badge...
But this time the tipp disappeared from my contact list afterwards... |

You should be getting a Reward Choice table upon finishing the mission. Is that not happening?

Quick question while EU test patches, but does handing in the halloween salvage in praetoria also send off the zombies?
Edit: First after posi1 woo!

It does however give the "Return to Contact" message in the compass and the tip remains in the tip list until clicked on. The dialogue box for choosing the mission appears at this point, and the tip disappears, but you can still choose to run a second time from here.
I may add here, that during the mission I received 3 more tips and they were all present in my list after "clearing" the halloween tip on clicking it the second time.
I haven't received a Halloween Tip in Praetoria, which could mean the level 20 gate is in place.
BUG: Acantha spawns like a static 'color' NPC. Sometimes she's there, sometimes she's not. When she's not there, leaving draw distance and coming back sometimes causes her to appear. She is NOT linked to time of day for spawning.

Finally got the tip, ran through it twice. The first time I clicked through the glowies to get additional time. Got to the subway tunnel and my framerate took a major dive, this continued into the next room. Ran through to the portal and after exiting to the next part of the map my framerate stabilized.
I noticed that the ambushes are hard coded for the original 5 minute timer. Regardless of how much time you might have built up. Libri Vermis looks awesome by the way! Upon defeating him, I did not receive a badge.
Exiting the mission showed a 'return to contact' option under the tip, clicking on it caused the tip to disappear but I was able to accept the mission again. Ran through it a second time clicking the glowies, same framerate dive on the tunnel and middle room. This time I did not 'trigger' the ambushes. I went straight for Libri Vermis upon defeating him I did not receive any badge.
This was all done on a Scrapper who's nearly made a full circle; Hero -> Vigilante -> Villain -> and is currently Rogue. Mission(s) completed in Peregrine Island.

NOTE: I also did not receive a reward window upon completing the tip mission.
POSSIBLE BUG: When running the tip mission, futzing with the Praetorian devices does add time to the timer. But while I had 4:30 showing on my timer after clicking the last device, the Clockwork ambushes still spawned. It looks as though the additional time isn't being added to the actual spawn trigger ... assuming that futzing with the Praetorian devices is actually supposed to do anything.
TECHNICAL ISSUE: when reaching the last subway tunnel room with Praetorian devices (it has the two long rows of torches), my framerate took a HUGE hit. The only other time I experience anything similar is down in the bowl of the Rikti mothership during a raid when I haven't turned down my graphics settings. My framerate returned to normal once I left that room. I'm running Windows 7, 3.6 gHz dual core CPU, 4 gigs RAM, and Radeon 5850 with most current drivers.
SUBJECTIVE FEEDBACK: LOVE the CoT Underground map, especially the last room. The flavor dialogue given to the various CoT members is both humorous ("They told us not to drink any of that stuff!") to very interesting (CoT mages noting to one another that their magic seems more difficult to cast on Praetorian Earth). The Halloween tip seems like it has a very low drop rate, but I personally chalk that up to Tricks having a higher ratio than Treats, and the fact that other things can drop instead as Treats.

We've confirmed the Reward Table isn't working correctly.
We're looking into the other issues.
Thank you all for your continued testing!

No reward choice here, either.
The map is a very nice redress, the CoT dialogue is cute, if a bit reflexive, and the Boss being Bookworm in Latin is rather clever.
Everything from last year appears to be working about the same, with Halloween Salvage appearing, at least to me during my short run at Trick or Treat, to be dropping a little more often.

A fantasy world of celluloid villains and heroes."
I Recieved the Tip Mission in PI as a treat while in costume. I did not recieve any choice of options upon Mission Complete. When I zoned out of the Tip the mission was green and still there. Said return to contact. Clicked it for more info and it gave me the mission again. same results the second time but now the Tip was gone.
Unrelated to the Halloween Tip, the current costume temp powers are not counting as credit towards Clothes Horse and related badges. I've earned 11 costumes on a character who previously had none, and did not receive Clothes Horse (which normally grants at 10 costumes).
EDIT: The character in question is a level 50 villain (not a rogue), ToTing in Grandville, so this isn't a problem relating to being in the opposing faction's area or being in Praetoria.

I tried doing Trick or Treating solo in Praetoria on a level 6 Corruptor. When I got a Trick, I never saw a 3 minion spawn. I kept getting 2 Lts, 1 Boss or 1 Boss and 1 Lt together. It was way too much for that character to handle.
So I don't know if I was just having bad RNG luck or if the Praetoria T&T event still needs tweaking. I sent in a bug report regardless.
How is Praetoria Trick or Treating going for everyone else?
BUG: Acantha's chat for when you get near her is:
[NPC] Acantha: Greetings, Acantha check.

Howdy there Ghouls and Ghosts, it’s almost time for yet another Halloween celebration in City of Heroes! We’ve enabled this year’s Halloween Event on the Test server and would love any feedback you would like to give us.
This Year’s Halloween Event Includes all the fun of last year’s events (Trick or Treating, Giant Monsters, the Zombie Apocalypse, and the Deadly Apocalypse) as well as a brand new Halloween Tip Mission. These events aren't limited to Primal Earth either, but can also be found in Praetoria!
As always, we appreciate your feedback and any bugs you might spot. Please feel free to post them in this thread. Specifically we are most interested in:
Feedback is important to our development process, there are two types of feedback and both are helpful although some give us more insight and are more easily adapted into game changes.
- Objective Feedback: Objective feedback is based upon what you as a user see or experience that other users may also see and experience. This feedback usually can be replicated easily as it involves facts and unbiased opinions. Example: When using the base editor items are sometimes getting caught in columns or pillars.
- Subjective Feedback: Subjective feedback is based upon how you feel or experience the game as yourself. This experience may not necessarily be replicated because it is based on feeling and emotion. Subjective feedback is important to us but it is usually helpful if more information is present to describe what and why you feel the way you do. Example: I like the way the graphics look on my shield animation it gives me the feeling of being truly super-powered.
Thanks,
