well it's a ranged recipe set and I don't have any blasters that could use it. I'm fairly new to the game and only have a 50 grav/dom... really squishy! and 50 ss/wp... NOT squishy at all! I think I might just end up crafting it and sellin it! 
I don't plan on collecting any other ones soon... Thanks for the advice!

I would definitely sell. There may come a time when you want to purple out a toon, but it will take a whole lot of time and work before you get the rest of the set, much less other sets, so it's no good to you right now. You can fund an excellent build or builds by just selling that one. So keeping it seems like a bad idea to me.
Besides, when you're new to the game, I would think you would prefer to spend your time discovering all the awesome new stuff rather than working on purpling a toon.
Also voting on sell. Additionally, let me paraphrase Nethergoat's Rule #1 of marketing:
If there are none for sale, and people want it, then the price is too low.
As stated, list yours for more than 400 million. I dunno if I'd go as high as 800, but I'd for sure go 549 or maybe more.

I've got a billion that says that 6 months from now they'll be 50% higher on average. I've personally watched some of my investments double or triple in value over the past 30 days.

I thought the prices on purples were outrageous when they hit 50 million. When I bought a purple set for my blaster, they were running around 30 million at the high end. There has been a long-term upward trend on prices for purples, with apparently a huge jump when the mission architect system was introduced.

I think it floats more towards the +inf and the purples were an aside to making inf through sales.
Though if supply of purples generated was higher...
And inf generation was higher...
Wouldn't it stay about the same?

so I ran into a level 50 apocalypse: chance for superior damage reciper today and I went to wentworth's to check how much it was worth. 400,000,000 was the last bid in the history and there were 80 people bidding with none on sale! I'm torn between selling it and keeping it! Any suggestions?
