I actually find threads like this useful when the servers are down and the server status is not being updated.
If I cannot log on and before contacting support, I usually check here and the technical support forum to see if others are experiencing the same problem as I. Not only that, reading and participating in a thread like this gives one something to do while waiting to get back in game and builds a sense of camaraderie with others in the same boat. That is until someone comes along that is pompous enough to think they are better informed than others about forum rules and suchlike and decide its time they took it upon themselves to 'educate' them.

I'm not picky, I'm happy to read everybodies and anybodies post so using the ignore feature in my case is somewhat redundant. Perhaps that is the reason I found the OP's post relevant and totally inoffensive - one could hardly call it a rant or in any way breaking the forum rules, whether anybody could answer his question is or not is somewhat a moot point. Perhaps someone who could help would read this thread - who can say.

Like watching sports all day, tinkering with the car, *playing* sports all day, building model ships, etc.
Those are all *as* pointless and arguably *more* brainless pursuits when compared to some video gaming, yet most guys would feel comfortable telling their officemates they were planning on golfing, changing the oil, or vegging on the couch all weekend watching football, but hesitate to tell them he was planning on leading PuGs online all weekend.
Will that ever change?

Nah nah nah nah nah I guess this forum might have been noticed by the powers that be. I noticed today during downtime that the server status has been updated for today and they say down.
THANK YOU COH for keeping it updated. I for one appreciate it.

It's a funny thing. You always get people posting there very Orwellian comments about anyone who asks why the devs can't update us on the server status - things like "well - if you bothered to check you'd notice the server status hasn't been updated since...". Ridiculous stuff. It's simple. We pay to play the game each month. It's not a free service. We expect to be kept up to date. Nothing more than that.

I wouldnt think it would be. However no matter what forums you use you have "trolls" that like to stir the pot per say. I vented then we where all having fun messing around.
The "trolls" caught a "whiff" of people having fun and decided to come bash the party.
But hey like I said before Ignore FTW.
I persoanlly do not see how it can be that "hard" to take a minute or two to update a server status screen. They have it updated today. While I'd like to see the game back up at least I can look at the server status screen and see that the servers are still down. Am I still frustrated, yes of course I am because I cannot play. However I appreciate being kept updated on the server status.
Downtimes happen in any online game. Its not a big deal. When I saw the server status actually updated today I was happy that someone listened and did something incredibly simple to help with the player base's frustration.
Ok I think I have typed WAY to much now. Must go get the lotion....;P

Maxstorm is right - servers down - but we know they're down cos we can check - downtime expected 3 hours i believe.
I just get annoyed with people who say COH/COV users have no right to complain when the servers are down - devs are too busy to update server status/tell us etc etc -that's not happening today though.
Hopefully us soon

I agree with Maxstorm (again - the guy does speak sense) - we complained the acted and I am happy I can check the server status screen to find out if the game is working
