Well Forbin - I've worked in a computer environment for many years - and if you're the only one around to communicate things - you communicate them. Better to spend a few minutes of time so people know what's going on than to get swamped with unsatisfied customers. It really is easy.
-
Forbin - do you work for COH or something? You always seem to support the COH end only.
-
Okay - another gripe - one that i know many here will disagree with.
Update server status properly so we know what's going on. It takes a few seconds if you set it up so someone just pushes a button - servers down longer than expected - back up in ... - or something to that effect. It really isn't difficult or time consuming. -
So where will you be in Australia StarKitten?
-
Yes Forbin - we know that - from time to time surely doesn't mean every Tuesday does it?
-
Cheers Lothic for your empathy
I just want to play the game...
-
Well I'm sure it's not a biggie for people outside of Australia or Asia who happen to be on the U.S. server - but it does impact us. And on top of that, it seems to take an hour or so beyond what we're told for the servers to come up. It's just frustrating.
-
Like I said - it's a bit of a gripe - living in Australia - as imaintenance time is our prime playing time - and having been told it would happen once a week only to find it's back to twice a week is just frustrating.
-
I beg to differ - it's been regularly on Tuesday and Thursday for quite a time now.
-
Okay - I know I'll get the usual comments about how this isn't a player help issue - but anyway - isn't maintenance supposed to be once a week now on Thursdays? It's been every Tuesday and Thursday for quite a while now. Really frustrating for me as I live in Australia - and that's my prime playing time. Yeah - sorry - it's a gripe - but really - just say it's twice a week Devs if that's what you're doing.

I have brute, scrapper and tank shields. All are soft capped, - most builds almost hitting that in low 30's, all have 95% def debuff resistance in later levels, and i certainly wouldn't consider any squishy. Ideally, you want your shield to be soft-capped for all, 95% def debuff rez, fast recharge, good heal/sec, high end recovery, and not too bad resistance at least against smashing/lethal. To get all that is possible, though certainly not cheap. Use mids and play around with it a bit. But, to be honest, if you want to get them to work with exemping, be prepared to pay a fair bit for the io's to be able to do so. Once you get them working, though - you'll find them a lot of fun.

Quote:Easy if you know where to look. It's actually buried - if you don't know where to look - you won't find it.That post was located:
City of Heroes Forums > English > News, Events & Announcements > Announcements:
Live Server Publish - 9/28/10
...exactly where most people would expect to see such an announcement, not to mention somebody provided a link to it right in this thread.
Don't get your point - if you want that information available - post it on server status - that's where everyone looks. And don't know why you're so determined to defend the way things are done. That's fine - like the last guy- no more comments to you. It's pointless. -
Quote:Yeah - well - i'm not on a European server - so no - i didn't see that message. Jeez though - i don't get you guys. You pay for something - you expect something. Don't know why you get annoyed when someone points that out.I'm sorry, but not for nothing.. I think you are the arrogant one in this case. Customer Service in general is never 100% in any business. There are always going to be people who are not happy and expect more. There will always be unforeseen circumstances. Most people understand that.
If this type of thing (a couple hours of unexpected extended downtime) happened once a month, I'd consider it a minor inconvenience. For you to demand to know every little up-to-the-minute detail is just ridiculous. Even the person who started this thread has shown understanding with today's issue.
Apparently you missed where it was linked above:

The fact that the European servers came up first and their Support made an incorrect post implying that all servers were up, doesn't change the fact that they did tell us things were running late, and we should just be patient. I don't see that they could have realistically done more. -

Are you working for COH? If so, take a course on customer relationships please - because that is crazy. If not, then don't say anything more.
-
Quote:How long to say it will take longer than expected? A minute? Silly comment.I'm not the one jumping up and down and saying I pay the developers wages though, am I?
It's patently obvious that something has screwed up on their end. It's unlikely they are standing around laughing and saying "Let's leave it down for a while longer just because we can" and it's very likely that if they did come along and say "It'll be fixed in 30 minutes" certain people would time it with a stopwatch...
It'll be fixed when it's fixed. It's not ideal but these things happen. Such is life. -
Having checked - devs state server down 2 hours - 4 hours later servers come up - no comment in the meantime from devs. You think that's okay? Ridiculous.
-
-
k carnifax - just facetious then
-
Carnifax - i hope that was tongue in cheek...
-
Not at all - it's just a regular feature of how COH run their business - never let anyone know what's going on with servers. It's frustrating and doesn't need to happen. Terrible customer service - that kind of comment misses the whole point - "do you want your 2c back?" And i guess you know it. It's just not the way to run a business.
-
Isn't this just a simple thing. We pay to play. That's it. Dev's get their salary from us. So - quite simply - as we pay their wages - tell us what's happening. Don't frustrate customers. It's the most simple rule of 101 running a business.
Don't see what's complicated about this whole thing really. -
My mistake - no uptime given by devs - i thought it was 3 hours but misread. Dev's - just let paying customers have an idea what's happening. Darn - if i ran my business this way i'd have gone bust after 2 weeks. We pay for the game. Every month. You want to keep people playing and paying? Make 'em happy...
-
Now we're past the 3 hour time for servers coming up - i hope the devs say something - no problem with them giving an estimate - happy the server status screen is current - but when it gets past the due time - they should say something. Yes, I know, there'll be the usual comments that the devs are too busy etc, but come on, how long does it take for someone to post a comment dev side? a few seconds if you type slow?
-
Hopefully up soon i mean
