X-Men: First Class is currently shooting and the first few pictures from the set have hit the web, and they feature January Jones as Emma Frost. The photos were shot on set at Buckinghamshire, England earlier today and posted on INF Daily. You can checkout the photos at their gallery. Gossip Center also have the photos posted.

Here’s the synopsis:

Quote:
X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, following the classic Marvel mythology, charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.
Checkout our previous article for more details. The film stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, Kevin Bacon, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Caleb Landry Jones, Lucas Till, Edi Gathegi, Jason Flemyng, Oliver Platt, Morgan Lily, Zoe Kravitz, Bill Bilner. It’s directed by Matthew Vaughn and is set to release June 3rd, 2011.

Below are a few of the photos:

The movie is set in the 1960's and her outfit does reflect it, but somehow I'm not so sure about how she looks honestly. But these are candid shots, and probably look better on film. And it is just one exterior scene. Still looking forward to this.

I'm wary of this one, but it's got some people I like in it.

I hope this is the movie that redeems the X-franchise.

You still have hope?

That's impressive.

Poor January Jones, will she ever play a character that's not living in the 60s?

She looks like a some sort of cold war spy. Hate the hat.

This looks liek the dumbest thing ever, she looks really short because of how dispporinate that hat makes her head

Why does she need to look so ridiculous?

Thanks for eight fun years, Paragon.

That hat......Seriously? Is First Class a comedy?

IIRC isn't First Class supposed to be a prequel to the franchise and take place during the 60's or 70's? might explain the outfit. the bright side is that it's a 50/50 shot at being either pretty good (like the first 2 Xmen movies) and piles of crap (like the other 2 x-movies). doesn't mean i want to shell out money to go see it, but hey, slap enough explosions and big effects on screen and most folks will line right up to see it.

Did they? While walking through battlefields in war-torn Europe they wore ridiculous mink hats?

Yeah 'cause that would be silly wouldn't it.

And what war tore up Europe in the 60s?

The problem I have with the image is that I always felt like even though Emma isn't a giant of a woman that when she was around she should "feel" imposing. This just makes me think a little girl got lost in war torn Russia.... WTH? I don't htink I'd be intimidated by this woman at all. She seems too frail and thin....

Well damn. What is that, Russia? I think I've seen the hat in Russian imagery...

And this takes place in the 60s? I was just going off of the image with the soldier and barricade.

Edit: And if this was the 60s, didn't that hat happen much earlier?

She may just be that...young and semi frail and just begining to use her powers. Maybe the imposing feel comes with experience in using her gifts!

OH, it's been around forever and it's still iconic.

That hat is dumb! DUMB!

Emma Frost would never wear that hat.

Just ridiculous shoulder pads.

... Which kind of look like two of those hats.

I can't argue. You clearly know the mind of a fictional character better than the rest of us.

Since it's a period-piece, the hat is the hight of fashion for the period.

As much as I love the X-Men and want to see good X-Men movies made....

I hope this tanks all to hell (sorry, Bryan, I still love your work in spite of the fact that you tried to ape Donner in Superman Returns rather than making your own movie). That way, Fox will agree to sell the rights back to Marvel so that Marvel can make X-Men movies and connect them to the rest of the Marvel Universe.

New story arcs coming soon (ARC IDs will be aded when I finish the arc):
So, you want to join the Hellions? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)
Sparks & Steel (level 5-20 Heroic arc)
and
So you want to join the Skulls? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)

The problem with that logic is that Marvel gets a franchise that has been poisoned to the point where they can do nothing with it but sit on it until it gts forgotten.
