Preferred method of PC control...
I want this mouse:

But I currently use a crappy old keyboard and an equally crappy old optical mouse. I can't stand wireless and cba to spend money to upgrade when my current setup is working fine.
I would say I use my keyboard more than my mouse.
I loved the ergonomic keyboards (the split ones), and I haven't been able to find a decent one in years. I stopped using one in 2003 or 2004, and I STILL find it difficult to type properly on a standard keyboard.
Right now, I'm using a 5-button wired mouse, and just a basic keyboard that came with my PC.
Thank you, Champion.
For me, a Logitech Trackball Mouse and a ZBoard Merc Keyboard.
Scary thing is, I doubt I could ever go back to playing on a regular keyboard. I so enjoy the built in game pad of the Merc.
Thank you for the time...
I'm curious what everyone's preferred method of PC control is...as in do you like using primarily your keyboard and only clicking when you absolutely have to, do you like mainly using your mouse as much as you can?

I have two input devices, no reason to restrict myself to one or the other.
Also what type of Keyboard and or mouse do you like... |
That said, I want quality crap, so I'm using a Logitech laser mouse. Right shape, double-click with my thumb, good enough.
Keyboard is less of an issue for me. The only keyboard that I ever really liked was an HP or Packard Bell keyboard that I had fifteen years ago. The keys were exactly the right size and distance from each other, the travel on the keys was exactly where it needed to be, everything was perfect with that keyboard. These days, as long as it's straight, has a volume control, the Enter and Backspace keys are the correct size (not a chiclet Backspace and double-sized Enter... i loathe those, passionately) and the arrow keys are properly positioned (not vertically aligned, thank you), I'll use it. Extra app keys are nice, as they minimize the clutter I'd accumulate with Quick Tray links, but not absolute necessary, nor do I care to use a keyboard with more app keys than regular keys.
I have a G15 keyboard, but I just have a standard optical mouse.
I prefer using the mouse though. I've been thinking of getting a new gaming mouse, with a few extra buttons here and there

Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000 Keyboard, and a Microsoft comfort mouse. Right hand on mouse, left hand on WASD and other keys. If I'm roleplaying, then I stick mainly to keyboard, using mouse only for camera.
I use my laptop's built-in keyboard (which is fairly sizable; having a numpad is pretty nice), but in terms of rodentia I employ the Logitech MX 518. It's simple, elegant, and looks pretty sweet. But, some day...

Keyboard, Mouse for the most part, though I use a wacom pad for my artwork (I own 3 pads and will eventually buy a 4th). I prefer a controller when gaming, also I usually end up setting up voice control for any computer I have, mainly for quick searches and surfing, and dictation. Yeah, my computers are also made to talk back...what can I say, I'm a major nerd.

Finding an aesthetic, Ergonomic and functional gaming mouse for lefties is tough!
Anyway, I click my targets (but sometimes tab for closest) and obviously mosue controls my camera.
but movement and power activation on most frequently used powers (tray 1 and some tray2) uses my numpad.
Laptop keyboard and a Logitech trackball.
I tend to prefer using keyboard shortcuts rather than point-and-click if I can help it.
I tend to use a mix of mouse and keyboard. It really depends on what I'm doing and what feels most appropriate.
I use a 13+ year old Microsoft Natural keyboard. It's an ergonomic split keyboard. I remember when I first got it I thought it was kind weird but once I got used to it "normal" keyboards stopped being comfortable for me to use.
For a mouse I use a Logitech G5 gaming laser mouse. It's a bit of a departure for me since prior to this I've always bought Microsoft mice as I find them very comfortable. I got it because the last time I needed to replace my mouse the only Microsoft mice I could find were wireless models. I bought one of those but once I saw how fast I was going through batteries I decided I needed to stick with a corded mouse so I bought the G5 and I've been happy with it.

For Gaming:
Keyboard and Gaming Mouse. My brother convinced me to try a gaming mouse a couple of years ago, and I'm glad he did. Having the extra buttons to assign my TeamSpeak push-to-talk to has greatly improved the predicament of conflicting game controls. Slap it on a mouse button and never worry about re-assigning it again for games that use that button.
For Everything else:
Wacom Tablet. Especially for artwork. Using a mouse at that point is like trying to paint the Mona Lisa using a cinder block as a brush.

$130.00 for a mouse would be a bit too difficult for me to justify though.

I prefer a larger media keyboard (though I've sorely been missing them lately I used to have the logitech G15 and that thing is awesome) but mainly i like to use a 5 button wired (wireless dies too often on me and the signal drops too much) optical mouse (left, right, scroll button, and back/forward side bumpers)... though this month i'm likely going to try a mouse with more buttons just to see whether i like it or not.
