Prestige Matching again

So I'm willing to put about a billion inf into inf-to-prestige matching again.

Here's how it works, if you're new to this:

You send me a PM here or a tell to @Boltcutter. Let me know what your global is, which side, what server, how much you want me to match, and [important!] when you play.

Then we set up a time to meet up at the SG registrar. I give you the money, you convert my money plus an equal amount of your own into prestige, I watch the SG prestige go up at the registrar and warm my hands at the pile of burning inf.

For instance, if I were to match 100 million, I'd give you 100 million inf, and you'd immediately turn 200 million inf into 400,000 prestige.

You can convert influence to prestige? I had no idea.

If it's ridiculous, it's still ridiculous at half the ratio.

1 million Inf -> 2000 Prestige. 100 million inf, therefore, becomes 200 thousand prestige. If I match that, 100 million inf becomes 400 thousand prestige.

There are a lot of people for whom 100 million inf isn't a lot; there are even more for whom it IS.

The ratio isn't that ridiculous. If you made it too much better people would just stay out of SG/VG mode all the time and convert everything. With Fulmens' support its actually quite cheap.

And honestly....what else are you going to do with your excess inf?

Wow. I really wish I had a larger amount to drop. I've got exactly one character I've ever cared to throw money at, and she's got all the IOs and HOs that I need, on both builds. I've been dropping money into her Solo Villain Group, hoping to get it up to the largest plot size so I can really go nuts with the base editor... currently up to about 2 million prestige there, and she only has around 100 Million cash on hand. But I'll do it!

I know a group who cashed 27 Billion for prestige. and were going to the RMTers for more. Some insanity about a prestige buying war with another SG for #1 on their server. Craziest thing I ever heard but one heck of an inf. sink. I'm surprised NCsoft isn't selling it direct in micro transactions at this point. Both Prestige and Inf. Of course I'd also like to see this game FTP with a micro-transaction model but thats another topic.

If you have enough to match those kinds of numbers I am sure they would be interested.

When there are people buying individual IO's for 3 or 4 billion, I don't know if one little billion still counts as "high finance."

A billion infamy is still quite alot even to the high rollers. Its not easy to make billions over and over or everyone would be doing it. That said, I can assure everyone that Fulmens has been personally responsible for removing over 50 billion from the money supply of the game through his matching program and for everyone with less inf thats a great thing because it means prices are lower because the in-game economy's supply of money is lower.

I salute Fulmens for his altruistic goal of self-making a money sink in the game.

I'd have to say that, IMO, Fulmens has done more to benefit the base building community in the past year or so than anybody (and the reason why I hate disagreeing with him on occasion). It saddens me though when "anybody" includes the devs.

As much as I appreciate one person's altruism and crusade to single-handedly reduce the inf supply, maybe we need a more "systematic" approach to these issues. By that I mean things like, (a) more inf "sinks" than prestige conversion (if that is important, it's not really so much a base issue), (b) an examination of prestige cost/capabilty "data points" (especially on the low end as was suggested in another thread and the high end... I had to chuckle at the individual who commented on the value of a 10% prestige bonus vet reward when his SG had 450+ million prestige banked and nothing to spend it on) and (c) a relook at the inf/prestige exchange rate.

Can I vote for that while patting Fulmens on the back too?

A little off topic...

As I recall, if you're on a level 50 the "true" inf: prestige rate is around 250:1 (that is, out of Sg mode you make 500x, in SG mode you make 250x). How much lower can the inf: prestige rate go without actively punishing people for playing "something in SG mode" instead of "level 50s hunting cash?"

As far as inf supply reduction, they've put a new one in with Hero Merits. I don't know how much it will accomplish- there's an awful large backlog to get through.
