Thank you all for the feedback.
The intention of limiting some AT is to make this race unique and I want the powers they use to reflect that idea. I want the powers to seem exclusive to the race, like a signature power, and yet everyone is different since one can select KM and EC for more than one AT and the option of secondary powers give the group a nice mixture. I thought that by asking people to pick KM and EC as primary powers would make more sense for the idea.
The reason I’m playing a defender is because my character is a robot programmed to nurture and mind for the race. So the idea I have in my head is a healer hence why I picked defender, but I like the idea of an Elec/Emp controller more and I think it would fit better without making my AT so exclusive. My concern as a whole is that I feared limiting the AT selection to what I propose would harm us when we set out to do TF’s, SF’s, or fight against some random named boss etc. -
I'm drawing up an idea for an RP static team and need some advice on my choices for the team set up. The reasons I want to limit what AT's are use is because we are roleplaying a stranded alien race on earth whose powers are now manifesting. I would like for everyone's power sets to compliment one another for support and to maintain a beneficial balance, but I don't want certain AT to be use, like MM's. Since we are starting in Praetoria I want the group to use Kinetic Melee and Electric Control, but I don't want them using Demon Summoning and Dual Weapons.
In other words AT Allowed:
Scrappers, Tankers, Brutes and Stalkers as long as they use KM as Primary Power. And Dominators and Controllers as long as they select Electric Control as Primary Power.
I will be playing a Defender (Emp/Elec) so I will cover healing. But I'm wondering if my choice to limit the AT others will use any good and what other AT can I add to compliment the uniformity? -
Welcome!
If you are looking for an SG on Virtue I suggest visiting the server's forum and looking at the SG list sticky. In the meantime I invite you to try the NPC Mentor Program chanel for questions you may have about the game. You can find more information here. -
I don't know if this will help you with your problem, Lobster. But I had a similar issue some time ago where I could not turn off the game without doing the 3 finger salute. The game would freeze when I exit and hang.
My problem was the executable file was set to compatibility mode and this was causing the game to hang when I exit game. We fixed the problem by going into properties, then compatibility tab, and unchecked compatibility mode in both the game's shortcut and executable file.
Like I said, Im not sure if this will help with your problem, but I thought I mention it. -
This is very interesting indeed. I like doing AE arcs when I get tired of traveling or get the feeling that I'm doing the same thing over and over. There are alot of good ideas out there, nice stories, great foes, lots of creativity. I may join you guys. I'll bring my dark/dark tanker. I've not used him for a while.

Triumph isn't populated enough to get events going like on other servers. I think is because those who play on Triumph are casual players, solo players, and otherwise friends that keep to themselves. The majority of which are veterans so I'm not too far off when I say 100mil may not be enough incentive for them. For a new player like me even third prise more than enough. Plus I don't think the forum gets watch much by those in game but the few you see on the boards.
Anyway, working on my story. -
Very nice and creative. Thanks for sharing.

Nice to see some contest on Triumph. I was about to give up on this server. Count me in too.

I think it's great news. What is the incarnate system the article referred to?

Quote:That's the attitude that's fine for somene who's done it a bunch of times. For a new comer, like me, not skipping anything and enjoying what the game offers in a timely fashion suits me just fine. The whole purpose of planning ahead and letting those who join what to expect as far as how I run teams is the idea of TF Fridays. Anyone is welcome to start their own teams and run them however they like, but my team is a do-it-all-no-rush-team.Killing everything in an already overly long TF...........eh I'd much rather get it over with and move on to something else.
@ Otelo.
Thanks for the info. CoP is a high level Trial and I hope to do it in the future, I hope to do all the TF and Trials, but I'm trying to do them from lowest to highest. So, I'll get there eventually.
@Justaris
Good luck to the team doing CoP tonight! -
Quote:Hehe! You might be right.I think you might have scared some people away. No doubt i could use this on a couple of my toons, so i'll join you.
It looks like it's you and I for the moment. I told some friends in game and was told they'll try and make it. In anycase we can always use TW to fill in the rest of the team. -
Thank you B_Samson. I'll add them to the OP soon.
The first TF for this Friday, Positron, is very long, and I have no intentions of rushing through it. I can't stress this enough but I want to make clear that those who join understand that the TF is intended for first time runners and I don't want to ruin the experience. I'm the type that likes to explore every corner and kill everything. If you know you won't like the slow pace don't join.
I took the chance of joining a Positron TF team and it was not the best experienced. The leader rushed through everything, gave no direction, and pretty much wasted my time collecting debt, but I wanted to know what to expect so I stuck around for part one.
Given the lenght of time it takes to do Positron, we'll just do Part One this Friday and Part Two next Friday. I'll update the OP and add who is doing tomorrows run once it's clear by those who have posted here. -
Quote:I agree with the above statement. I started my SG because I got tired of joining large SG that doesn’t really team with their members. Has been my experience that large SG are full of clicks new players can't join unless they are uber enough, or full of hormonal teenagers with ego issues, and the worst old timers with no time for new players. I hate to be part of a SG just so that I can up their prestige. But hey, to each it’s own, everyone must find their niche to enjoy the game, and if that means I need to start my own noob SG and invest my own prestige into something I can be proud off so be it. But don't penalize me because I have a small SG of 3 and not 20.
EDIT: By the way, this is certainly NOT only a single-player issue. A small SG just starting out could also find it very daunting to have to make the leap from 400,000 to 730,000 prestige to make any substantial improvements to their base. Finding a way to ramp up costs more smoothly would help every new SG, but small SGs in particular. If the devs won't improve the base building experience for a single person SG, what about a 3 person group? A ten person group? Or is building a base supposed to be enjoyable only for 50 player SGs? __________________ -
If I missed one and it's on blue side, please provide the information and I'll gladly add it to the list.
As for too slow or too fast - It usually depends on the team, and since I'm new and doing these for the first time I rather take my time and enjoy my self than rush through and accrue penalty. -
Yeah, got the 15 alts, seven by me and seven of a friend.
-
It sounds like a crazy idea with good intentions
I don't have the influence to match any amount worth changing. But thanks for the thought. -
I haven't joined TW. I've joined a few channels already and there isn't anything going on, but I'll give TW a try.
I would like to do TF's in the order I've listed if that's okay? SO the first run would be Positron this friday starting at 10pm EST/ 7pm PST.
I haven't played much on Red side. I can never find a team on Red and I get bored of soloing. -
You can convert influence to prestige? I had no idea.
-
I read the guide and what I have ATM is all I can do. Like most of you I too find it very limiting.

I propose we start Task Force Fridays on Triumph!
Forming a taskforce has not been easy because my SG is small and usually it’s just me, most teams I join dissolve after one or two runs. Those of you who enjoy doing them can help a newbs like me get them done, collect merits, rewards, and badges. Friday Nights starting at 7PM pst / 10PM est. we will meet up and run each of the TF's needed.
Start Date: Friday, Sep 03, 2010
Time: 7pm pst / 10pm est.
My Heroes: Shroudednova: PB/30, Ringnek: Tank Dark/Dark 21.

I've been trying to figure out how to add to my base but every time I try to add something I'm lacking energy or control. I have a little over 400k prestige and you can say this is a SG of one, my other two members have been MIA for days now.
So far I have the Oversight room and combo unit, teleport room with two teleporters and four beacons. When I try to add a med bay I'm lacking in energy and control. I can't seem to add another combo unit, apparently is one per base, and other than that I don't know how to increase energy and control.
What if I wanted to add more teleporters and forget the med bay, I'm going to have the same problem with energy and control. How can I use 400k to make my base into a teleporting base only with enough control and energy?
I figured at this level the only purpose the base has for me is easy access to travel back and forth. Storage space is seriously lacking and at this point I'm better off selling my junk than saving it for when I need it, no reason to have decorating rooms just for me, no reason to have a med bay when it gives me half health and hospital gives full health, and the crafting has not appeal to me in this game. Plus from what I hear the base item crafting is now useless?
I don't know what to do here. Help? -
It does get very irritating to join a team and see everyone leave as soon as things get difficult. The sooner players understand being defeated is part of the challenge the more fun they will have.
-
Auto-complete embarrasing moment checked.
I finally finished this mission. Overall not my favorite mission and trully glad to be rid of it. But I enjoyed the challenge.
First let me say that loosing connection in the middle of fighting the evil me was not funny. Second, getting stuck on a wall and getting beatdown was also NOT funny. LOL!
The one lesson out of all this is that I should seriously consider a human form PB. Right now I'm doing the triform PB and I don't have much to complain about, I do pretty good damage in dwarf and nova form, but in human form I'm still very squishy.
He did use powers against me I don't currently have. I liked how the evil me made good use of Incandescent Strike and Photon Seekers, which I thought wow I'm lvl 27 and he is lvl 32 because PS comes at lvl 32. Anyway, he kept my defences down and held which pretty much details the entire fight. My only real advantage was trying to keep him down on his back and unable to reheal back to full health. In the end, I won!
