Isnt Cole one incarnate and was able to handle the hami by himself?

Prediction for the future:
We will nobly save more downtrodden, oddly designed and maddningly inefficient warehouses from the diabolical intents of random gangs, international covert organizations and interdimensional tour guides, then turn around and do it again, only to find the warehouse interior has turned, shockingly, into a cave system in the last ten seconds. This, surely, explains loading screens - not a hinderance, but a safety feature meant to keep your character - however strong or durable they may be - from becoming one with collapsing industrial storage structures.

Hamidon is scary.
Cole goes to fight Hamidon.
No cameras.
Cole comes back and says "Hamidon is held off but still a threat. I couldn't kill him. I could just vaguely restrain him."
Everything beyond that is speculation. Edit: I personally believe that Hamidon is alive but definitely agree that something is... off. Actually shifting to 20% believing that Hamidon's been dead the whole time.
No one truly knows what happened. These are the facts we have:

Ah but you miss the parts where in certain arcs in praetoria the contact [reliable contacts at that] state that they saw cole actually wait until hami had destroyed MOST of a city before going in to stop and push back hami to "save" the day
Also hami was roaming the planet destroying all non hami like life, sure there is the speculation that cole is keeping hami away somewhere until the time is right to release him again, does have the technology after all. As we've seen, the rikti have pylons that can at least weaken it.
Anyway my speculation for future content?

Cole went to fight Hamidon as a true hero does.
Sadly, Hamidon defeated/trapped/absorbed Cole.
Hamidon saw the potential for survival/tyranny and is now acting as new!Cole to keep the anthro types contained.
Outside the sonic barriers Hamidon keeps the immense Devouring Earth populace of Praetorian Earth entertained by having them tune in daily to observe Nova Praetoria et al on a phone-in reality TV show and decide on its/our fates.

Level 50 Primals will break in to Praetoria and expose/defeat Hami!Cole in an epic raid to earn Temporary Powers, magenta coloured reward salvage, and rescue the true Cole from its grasp. The same Cole who is currently reserved to a life of watering Deathblossoms and fetching carbonated water for the camera crew of Mother Mayhem's late night Tarot Reading and softcore entertainment network.
Damn it, now I have this image of Cole as Mr. Satan from DRAGONBALL Z (a la all his boasting about beating Cell and the whole world believing it).

and yes marci, that is one of the things i was thinking, particularly since i have read that the pretorian hami may be different in appearance than the primal giant cell. One propaganda poster seems to show him in the background looking like a mass of carrion creeper type tentacles with a giant mouth, more plant like. But yeah, praetorian haim is one of the 5 possibilities i see, the others being merluna, the sleeper, a rejuvenated rularru, the force that sent the shiva and presumably cause the coming storm being the others.

The ultimate enemy of our super heroes is a ****ing amoeba? Pass.
Cathedral of Pain may indicate something to do with Rularuu.
Rularuu, a universe consuming god of madness and destruction as the ultimate enemy? Yes, I can buy into that, very Galactus-like.
And not a ****in' amoeba.
I'm only ladylike when compared to my sister.
I hope not. Hamidon is an insult.

Yeah you just know if atlas was still around he would just step on it and all would be well.
At least Rularuu looks like the ultimate evil

Praetorian Hami has more than likely evolved past being a giant amoeba and is a giant destructive creature. Right now all we know about it is it's got a beak of some sort and has tentacles. So at least that'll be cooler to fight, if we ever do.

I think Hamidon exists in Praetoria (those of us who have been in the sewer system there have heard something down there, I have no idea what), but after a nuclear holocaust where Praetoria may be the only city on the planet?
It's way way more than an amoeba. I like to think of the phrase 'The Coming Storm' as a perfect storm. One that has the very worst elements blended together in the most perfect way.
When the stories of the survivors of the Shadow Shard tell you that Rularuu broke his world...and Praetorian Earth came so close to being broken....I look at Rularuu...and Hamidon.
Food for thought....

I favor the theory that Praetorian Hamidon looks a lot like the DE devoured's only Much Much Larger (think Ruularu scale)
The only reason I think Primal hami looks like a Big Honkin' Amoeba is because of us using him as a Pinata.

I believe our next major, future content will be a raid dealing with Tyrant himself.
I don't expect to face Praetorian Hamidon, though I do expect more revelations about him, which will encourage the devolution of Primal Hamidon's continuity into an even bigger mess. I suppose that fits; his cellular structure is pretty devolved already.
