All actions reveal something about the actor, that's psych 101.
That's the problem right there. It's Psych 101. People with Psych 101 aren't qualified to say what is being revealed. AKA "Pop psychology".

Unless you have some kind of psychology degree, you're blowing smoke (and even then, it's iffy...but you'd know that already if you had a psych degree).

Agge, if I may, I would like to politely ask on behalf of my fragile male ego if you could refrain from calling our characters "dolls" and instead use the the more manly term "action figures". I find the your accurate terminology disturbs my calm when I realize that using the costume creator I'm basically playing "dress up" with my Ken and Barbies.
I do it fairly frequently just to remind people of just that!

Pretendy funtime game!!!

What a person labels an object reveals something about the way that person views the object.

All the rest is extrapolation.
So since you intentionally didn't actually answer what was being asked is there any reason at all for anybody to believe you're not full of it?

LOL. So only people with degrees know anything about psychology? Except even they don't.

You should have stopped when you were behind.

Since you've been trying to bait me, I think evading your question neatly proves my point.

No, evading the question proves nothing, but it does strongly suggest that you are making stuff up.

No, but people who have degrees will generally know a whole HELLUVALOT more than people without them. And total laymen are likely to know a little and only think they know a lot (heaven help us all from Psych 101 students). No one with any real knowledge of psychology would make the broad statements you make, any more than one would say a certain dream image means something specific. People are incredibly different and thinking you know something from a name they call something is pretty ridiculous pop psychology.

It sound more to me like you know just enough to think you know a lot, but don't really.

I can call it a couch. I can call it a sofa. I can call it a davenport. I can call it a divan. I can call it a chesterfield.

Know what that reveals about me? That I have a vocabulary.

I call my characters "toons" when I don't feel like typing out the word "characters."

It has nothing to do with what that man in the Pluto suit did to me at Disney World when I was eight.

It does tell one how "sophisticated" you want others to think you are, depending on the word you use.

There I was between a rock and a hard place. Then I thought, "What am I doing on this side of the rock?"

It's also a matter of colloquialism, too. I have a subset of my family tree that calls couches "davenports", and they're certainly ...not ...sophisticated. :x It's not a siphistication thing so much as an "everyone else calls them this" thing.

Exactly. Some things are regional. Other things are environmental ("That's what all my friends call it!"). The endpoint is, you really can't tell jack from what word a single object is called, because there are too many variable reasons why they might.

Brillig thinking he can tell something from that one word is what's usually known as "stereotyping".
