Discussion: New Going Rogue Preview at IGN

Alas Paragon Studios seems to be getting better at letting information trickle out. Very nice teaser article there. The IGN author did a good job. Nice pics, and a good video.

I am wondering if there will be any new TFs, open missions, new things to do and that sort of thing. I am really glad they're doing side switching but that doesn't add a lot of new things to do in game....we've all played both sides for a long time now.

Considering the larger Dev team and period between expansions, I am hoping there is much more to GR than I have seen.
I haven't heard anything said about new TFs - just the revamped CoP.

Seeing that they won't have end-game content in at release, makes me a little disappointed. But at least there'll be more to do overall... Seeing how 10 'tips' leads into the morality is more interesting.

And I concur that we need to see our original stomping grounds refurbed with the new stuff. But instead of one zone at a time, how about one building model at a time. Have the buildings be surrounded by whitebox prisoner NPCs in Paragon and Arachnobot/Bane Spider construction crews and a few days/week later replace the old texture map with new stuff. Since one building model gets called multiple times in multiple zones the effect would be widespread without taking an inordinate amount of work. Spread that kind of effort out over the course of a period between issues, you could cover a lot, A LOT of ground in a little time.

As for the article itself, it is some nice info.
How could they get image links right when they can't even keep their Comments section from being abused by spam bots?

Decent article, lackluster reviewing site. The video of Pratoria is nice though, but obviously not the work of IGN.

Would you care to quote some of these alleged Beta tipsters? I can pretty much guarantee that any information in here is either suggestion or has been dropped somewhere else previously, like the bit about the new CoP.

If any of that was aimed at me, no I'm not in Closed Beta.

That was kind of my thought. I'm on these forums 24/7, and everything that's been said here has been explicitly stated on the forums in an official capacity. I'll link it, if necessary.

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

I guess he wouldn't since he removed his post. Too bad it's quoted twice already. So, what were you saying, Shadow Wail?

Yeah - I've not seen anyone post anything that hasn't already been announced, either at Hero Con, PAX East, or on the forums and the GR site.

Given that at the weekend this IGN article said that there was only 2 new sets, one was Necromancy, and was very poorly edited, and also mentioned "neutral" as a point on the Going Rogue slider (which we know to be Villain, Rogue, Vigilant and Hero) I would take all the info it presents to be highly questionable.

Geek that I am, I skipped the article and went straight to the video. Love the music, and I'm really looking forward to seeing Praetoria full-sized, ultra-mode, and in surround sound.

(Though I have to admit it looks funny in the scenes where they sped things up and people are moving like they just downed about 300 cups of Jolt.)

I agree, I sure hope there is more content than what there appears to be looking at it from the outside at this point. I can't believe they didn't even add a high level new zone TF to this expansion (if they did you'd think they would have mentioned it by now).

Yeah, someone at IGN wasn't paying attention. Either that, or the Necromancer (MM) I've been playing for the past 43+ months was just a figment of my imagination.

Where to find me after the end:
The Secret World - Arcadia - Shinzo
Rift - Faeblight - Bloodspeaker
LotRO - Gladden - Aranelion
STO - Holodeck - @Captain_Thiraas

Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.

This is from the article.

"Although being neutral has its own rewards, being a vigilante or rogue gives players access to the entire game – even parts of the game that were originally exclusive to hero or villain. In addition, vigilantes and rogues can team up with anyone."

How do neutral folks interact with the SG's they were part of before they became nuetral? Can they still go into their base? Do they still earn prestige? ect. ect.

From what I understand, there are 2 sides of neutral, you can use the sg/vg of the side of neutral you are on.

Well in all fairness the pets are ripped from the earth and look pretty dead including actual skulls. While not your typical "zombie" style of necromancy it could easily fall within it the classification.

Though the article is all over the map so likely just poor journalism at work heh.

All I can say is after seeing that video, it just confirms how much I want to play in Praetoria... All Hail Emperor Cole. Bring on the urban renewal, baby.

The video was cool, much more revealed of Praetoria, the photos also reveal TPN (Tyrant Propaganda Network or Television Programmed News, you decide) and one really heavy clockwork in action. All good stuff. The info about tip missions clarifies a lot about how they'll work, some people will like this, some won't.

The broken links and necromancy slip-ups, more the fault of IGN than Paragon Studios, were glaring and unfortunate.

Bring on Going Rogue!

It would be really nice if eventually you could level all the way up to 50 or Incarnate in Praetoria. The often clamored for Space and Underwater Zones would be nice fits there, maybe even as active war zones like the Rikti Warzone.

I'm prety suire the devs aren't going to do all that work on Praetoria, and then just leave it capped at 20 - there's loads of ways they can expand it using the new lore for Praetoria 2.0.
