I don't get their joke or your Resistance reference.

Teams are the number one killer of soloists.

Yeah, very small thing. I had to look very hard to notice it. And I've yet to see anything that makes me believe either Resistance or Loyalists are the real good guys. Hence I'm still on the fence about which side to join, until we get some more info...

*looks at marketing*

*sigh* yes it was the T-Shirt. It has the symbol of the Resistance.

The three bars on his shirt are Army rank insignia for Sergeant, because Matt Hullum (the character wearing the shirt) is an RT employee who voices Sarge in the Red vs. Blue series. It's not a CoH endorsement/marketing gimmick/whatever.

Then on a side note: One day I will go an entire day without embarrassing myself on "cheap flash or cool I see something that will WOW the crowd".

Now if you excuse me I will hide my head in shame for a few days.

that's also known as a Chevron, and it's used to indicate Military or Police Rank.

... I get the feeling that you're going to be waiting for a long time if that's where you're looking for your answers.

I don't think they're going to tell us. I think that's kind of the point. Praetoria seems like it's not going to be a cut-and-dried, easy answers kind of place... if it -were-, they'd have made someone like Penelope Yin or her ilk the leader of the resistance... rather than Calvin Scott, massive jerk.

(shrugs)

I think that is exactly the point of Preatoria. Neither side is squeaky clean. No one is absolutely right or wrong. I think this makes for much better storytelling and I can only be amused by Golden Girl's frustration with being unable to find stuff to play in Preatoria as a result.

Oh, I know. I don't want every single detail. I just want some more info about both groups, so I can decide which interests me more.

I think that Tyrant, the mass-murdering supervillain, and his fascist utopia, which is about to invade Primal Earth are probably meant to be the people the heroes of Paragon City are meant to fight - kinda like we do now in the current Paretorian arcs.

@Golden Girl

Ever played the Starship Titanic PC game? Part of progressing in the game was discovering/memorizing chevrons, and I'm pretty sure the Resistance/Sergeant chevron was one of them.

Obviously, CoH is stealing from Starship Titanic, which is stealing from a single line in Life, the Universe, and Everything*! =O

* Okay, Douglas Adams wrote the book** and helped design the game. Work with me here!

** IIRC, the line was something like, "...the Starship Titanic, which underwent Sudden Massive Existence Failure, or SMEF..."

Is it an invasion if the people you're attacking invaded you first?

I mean, here we are, with Steven Berry, our wonderful Praetor of Automechanicalcyberneticclockwork Affairs, working with his long-time friend Raymond Keyes, Praetor of Researchanalysisexlporationexplosionsradiationandu nrequittedlove. They discover a new dimension, and while Raymond is peacefully exploring it with a small clockwork security team, he gets attacked! Steven is relieved to know that his friend is all right... but since then, super-powered beings from that dimension have been attacking us left and right, for no reason at all! THIS, loyal citizens of Nova Praetoria, is WAR!

Also, we prefer to be called "keepers of the peace" than "mass-murderers".

A warning to the people,

The good and the evil.

This. Is. War.

Also also, based on the CoH storyline, it's actually not defined whether Anti-Matter entered our dimension first, or we entered Praetoria first. It depends on whether you get Maria Jenkin's story arc before or after a specific non-arc mission.

I love that picture. :O

Also, yeah, the two groups aren't so much "Alright, who wants to be good, and who wants to be evil?" Your decision on who to join should be based on who's ideals and methods towards crime and society you agree with more.

It's kinda like you choose whether you want to fight alongside a bunch of anarchists or extremists.

Nice theory, but it's a shame that my actual decision will be based on:

"Do I want to end up in Paragon or the Rogue isles?"

And if both sides offer good and evil missions?
