Currently, I've been spending time on my Earth/Rad Controller (level 28.) I have no TF specific characters, most of the people I play with don't care what you bring as long as you'll have fun playing it.
my main, ma/sr/dm is easy to solo, but if people want to team, he can hand out some aoe and control with his anciliary.
My tank when I want to team. I haven't found a TF that scares him yet.
Where to now?

don'T attempt to read tHis mEssaGe, And believe Me, it is not a codE.
Generally either my AR/Dev or my Traps/AR. I tend to grab the Traps/AR for Teaming and the AR/Dev for soloing even though the Traps/AR actually solos better .
<-- That guy. Always that guy. Yes, I have many alts, but if something heavy is about to go down, he's the one that gets picked.
Be well, people of CoH.
Currently a Spines/nin Stalker, Sorrowed Lotus.
My true main is Arbiter Prefontaine, Hunstamn build.
When something good happens to me, I can never enjoy it....
I am always too busy looking for the inevitable punchline...
BEHOLD THE POWER OF CHEESE!
For me, it varies. When it comes to defenders I have several, but Donna Fae is my go to gal. That's a TA/A defender. With villains it tends to be whichever mastermind I am leveling at the moment. I have several. For high level play, I tend to favor Madam Enigma, but usually only pull her out for TF runs anymore.

My Mind/Psi Dom. It's not even my most heavily-invested character, but I feel more confident running new content because of the large amount of control I can put out and the ability to play cautiously without really losing any productivity. My second choice is probably my Dark/Kin Corr.
I have about....four mains.
Inv/axe tank, who is semi-retired until something comes along to challenge him. (Done hami, got the master badges, done ITF and STF at +4, leaps solo into the pit to pull the Rikti GM, etc.)
Fire/wp scrapper, who is likely my overall 'best' toon. Can do everything well, but is not the best at anything.
MA/wp scrapper because it just looks AWESOME, and is nigh-unkillable. Makes a great off-tank.
Claw/inv scrap for when I wanna stroll into a farm map and go into RAWR mode. Holy cow that toon is ridiculous.
...heck, I'mma go play one now.
BS/Regen Scrapper heroside
Dark/Dark Stalker, Elec/Elec Brute, or Plant/Ice Dom villain in order of how often I grab them.
My stalker and scrapper are really my two mains by a lot. The brute can't tank and is only used if we need more aoe because a dark stalker doesn't bring aoe to the table =).

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.
For general dorking around, my AR/Dev blaster is always a lot of fun.
A close second is my Earth/Storm controller who solos slower but who always impresses me when I manage to lock down giant swarms of mobs with my various powers while Ole Stoney beats them into the ground with some lightning storm and tornado assistance.
It depends on what I'm doing really; I've about 4 characters who are regular choices and another half dozen that are frequent alt choices.
Usually I first log in either my BS/Shield scrapper or CMA to handle marketing as those are my rich toons. From there it depends although whatever character I'm currently working on leveling is a usual choice.
If I'm running an ITF or STF it's usually one of four characters depending on team composition: CMA, BS/SD scrapper, Fire/Rad 'troller or Ill/Rad 'troller.
With all the characters I have in my stable at all levels I usually end up grabbing something to fill holes in the team or otherwise maximize performance.

None, honestly. I'm such an alt-a-holic I don't have a "I'm going to log into this most of the time" type character. Sometimes I feel like a high level, sometimes a lowbie, sometimes a villain, sometimes a hero, and then if I have friends on, whatever works with what they're playing.
My Fire/Rad Controller, Ms Chernobyl, is and most likely, will always be my favorite. She is good for nearly everything (though the ITF is not ideal) and is the only character I have spent any serious influence on. Fire/Rad exemplars down well and usually has a useful power for every situation.
That said I have finally found a "damage dealer" I really like in my now level 45 Fire/Shield Scrapper. She might be a good alternative when I want to focus more on doing my thing than be all team control/support-y.
@SBeaudway on Pinnacle, TaskForce Titans Supergroup.
I pull out my Energy/Energy/Force blapper first.
If it's a team setting that needs support instead of damage then depending on what they are up against it's either my Kin/Ice/Power defender, FF/Dark/Dark defender, Plant/TA/Fire controller, or my Ice/Rad/Ice controller.

Archery/Devices.
When I feel like teaming, its always my main character (Emp-Elec Defender).
When forced/choosing to solo (I work off shift, so alot of my play time is after midnight PST), then I find myself leaning toward one of my Scrappers or Tankers. Especially Tankers these days, since I have found their added toughness very enjoyable for "winding" down after a long night of work.
BIOSPARK :: DARKTHORN :: SKYGUARD :: WILDMAGE
HEATSINK :: FASTHAND :: POWERCELL :: RUNESTAFF
Right now, I tend to grab my Warshade or my lowbie Empathy/Sonic Defender.
I normally grab my fire/fire brute. She is my main and tricked out pretty nicely. That, or my fire/kin corr and just create havoc for everything while buffing my teammates.
Words to the wise aren't necessary- it's the stupid ones that need them.

After making a ton of alts and leveling them to 50 i now play almost only my spines/dark scrapper, she's just the most fun overall and since power customization she has the most awesome look too, rather than the worst one before it. Only thing i'd miss is a bit of survivability for hard encounters but, they don't happen often enough compared to the joy of aoe wiping all the mobs

When I need the very best there is; when I have to absolutely positively kill every mo-fo in the room, I accept no substitutes. My SS/WP brute.
A post a couple of days ago caught my eye; I think it was from Nihilli. Essentially, s/he (sorry) said that Spines/Elec was their first first choice when logging in to the game. Mostly this caught my eye because I'd been considering rolling one of those myself, but I also got to wondering what other players' "go-to" choices were.
Pretty much talking about general play here; obviously, whatever anyone's leveling up at any given moment would likely be first choice, or a specific character for a planned event (AT X for TF Y, etc.). So, just for casual play, what do you all reach for first?
