When GR hits . . . . . .

I certainly favour events. I reckon if we get this up and running we could run regular raids/TFs/SFs etc. If we're avoiding mentioning servers then something along the lines of:

EU Survivors
Europe United
European Outcasts
Forgotten Europe
The Marginals
The Outsiders

I think we'll need some idea of how SGs/VGs will work in GR as well though. It could well be that you can't get an invite to one until you pick a side. I guess we'll find out.

*Sigh* And of course, this idea prompted me to come up with yet another alt... One day I'll find a cure...

Reason I asked for suggestions of names now is that well, its better to come up with several good names, then decide which server we shall base the (if one) base on.
Then we can either have a poll (which I believe we will have anyway) of which Sg(s) go to which server.

Lets say we have a hero and a villain base (thats 150+150 each), those two could be put on each of their server. I realize that i use max two servers (and refer to Defiant and Union) only due to the reason of languages. I do not know about you, but it is a long time since I read german (and I have forgotten most of it), I do not know french... and when doing missions, I prefer to understand the mission text... ;P
The good part is that if the numbers grow, we can add new names and sister coalitions and they will have in the beginning have access (hopefully) to the teleporters

I like a few of the names already, so keep them coming and I (or another) can prepare the list and we can have a poll/vote on them.

As long as we have decided A. Name(s) of sg, B. Global channel name and C. Had one or more players "made" the sg's before the GR Launch, then we will have the basics.
Although I would also advise that if this project has a chance of life, we will also have to tell the non-forumites about this in the channels that we use (aka spreading the word).
But then we come back to the... names

True, we do not know what the Preatorian characters will be like sg wise. At worst it will be after lvl 20 that they can join an sg (or the lvl they finish their quest and have to decide). But then the sg can be ready (and the channel will be there ready for them.
Somehow I doubt that they will be unable to join an sg at the start, but doubts aside. We do not know for sure. I guess we just have to continue as planned (if we all are serious on this).
Only problem is that at that time, such a server, the player must have chosen which side he or she will end up on. Take the wrong path and well, it may take some time before you return to Preatoria.

The easiest thing will be to make said channel, then, no matter if you make a character for the base (for a clean slate thingy) you will always have the channel. (Then comes the secondary bit of who is actually going to be the OP's on the channel, policy of the channel (sg chat mainly, loosly talk of everything, tf and team creation) which is another important bit).

Thats what i was hoping was going to happen. Not just have it to forum people, but the entire EU community over the two english speaking servers.
Since we can transfer influence from union to defiant much easier now, i wouldnt mind at all creating an alt or two on defiant purely for the GR supergroup defiant edition.

Personally i think a supergroup base with elements of all styles of play in it would be both a huge challenge for base designers and also [hopefully] look VERY stylish! Hopefully supergroups wont be that much of a difference in GR, but if we have people who mostly play villainside and people who mostly play heroside, then the transition would be so easy!

Events is a defo for the supergroup though

Alot of different names with various motifs. I would recommend though that the Suggested Chat channel name would be short and precise and tell sort of in a word what this channel entails. Be it a shortened word from the SG name or something else.

Although I think a few of those might be a tad OTT.

I can see that the group would probably naturally divide once moralities are established in Praetoria but as long as we had a Hero SG and a Villain SG, there would be natural homes for them. And straddling both of them would be the channel that could be used for teaming, events and general chit chat.

I’ll be keeping my newly planned Kin/Dark in reserve for this if it takes off.

I'd be up for joining something like this, and "the shafted" makes me think of "the losers" comic and film, which is never a bad thing...

I can understand why you go for the Shafted...
No poll yet though. Myself I like the European Confederation/syndicate.

Would be interested in joining these groups...whatever they end up being called.

Sadly, I don't tend to do well in SG's, so I'll watch from afar as Damz attempts to do the same thing he does every day, Pinky.....

I like this idea. It would make sense not to restrict it to server, but have one for each server/each side to start with, and coalition if needed. Maybe a restriction on numbers of toons each global can have in there to allow more players to join in?

Now the date for GR launch has been announced I'm up for this also.

Since this thread has had a pause for some time. It came to ideas etc for various names for the Supergroup/villain group.
I've decided it was time to move things one more step. Maybe a little late, but hey, getting the community together is a good cause anyway.

So I decided on making a global channel for the purpose of getting the 4 servers more together.
Rules may change/get added as more players join in and use the channel.

It will remain an open channel, for all players on the EU server list for some time (atleast) after GR hits us.

Its purpose is the eventual big SG/VG thingy for as many of the players as possible. Where players can team up and a lot of players can create a base together (when we hit the amount of player cap, we simply make a new sg and coalition... ok, I do have dreams, don't I? )

So.. name, right lets start off the adventure:

Sounds interesting, and I'm getting a little lonely in the Swords SG base. Count me in when GR day is upon us.

I kinda like it but I kinda don't.

I like it in principle but it could potentially be more divisive than the game structure is already - for example the discussion between Union and Defiant is already here... and as you might tell from my sig line I don't really play on Onion.

Some of the name suggestions are great but how come nobody's suggested the obvious "no eu!"?

Edit to add I like "The Shafted" too... but then I kinda would huh?
