I think it was in the beta forums where Castle replied about this issue (Unhappiness about the auto accept) and explained that he had tried to fix it without removing the prompt, but was unsuccessful.

Seems as though he or someone else may have come up with a way to do it. So, here it is.
Here's Castle's post:

Castle, would it be possible to have the option to either auto-accept always or auto-deny always? Leaving out the prompt option? It's still not perfect, but maybe a better compromise.
That's a question for the engineers; it's not something the powers system can deal with, currently. I'll pass the suggestion along.

/chan_timeout now works.

Setting /chan_timeout <channel_name> <n_days> now immediately boots any channel members that have been offline for at least n_days days.
i.e. you do not need to "preemptively" set the timeout value.

Presumably any players that stay offline for at least n_days days after the timeout has been set will also be booted. I will however need a few days to be able to confirm that.

If a timeout value had been "set" (using the non-functioning command) before the fix, it will have to be set again to have any effect.

QR,

Errrrrm, why not have an OPTION in the OPTIONS menu to turn on or off the prompt.

Oi vey this isn't difficult and something they should've thought of to add.

I hope this is re-visited. Not having the pop-up is wonderful. I love options but, I want the option to not have to click a pop up every time someone casts this power on me. I would much rather see this pop-up with the addition of a always-accept/always decline option.

Seriously? We're going to have to deal with that annoying pop-up window again that shows up right in the middle of the screen every time a player casts it??? Which invariably happens every couple minutes when on a full team.

This is a terrible change. If an auto-accept option can't be put in like teleport has, removing the Mystic Fortune power from the game completely would be better than having to deal with that prompt constantly popping up, in my opinion.

I am very happy that this was changed. Now I don't have to worry about being drive-by buffed while shopping.
THANK YOU!!

... Yes you do. And now you have to click the prompt eveytime as well.
Not to mention the gazillion buffs that are without prompt.

This line of reasoning just doesn't make ANY sense.

It doesn't. But that's not my concern (or that of many people who like the prompt).

People like me, who like the prompt, want this prompt feature implemented as an optional feature for all ally buffs! This includes Speed Boost, Clear Mind, etc.

The prompt that came with the Fortune buff was a step in the right direction for people like us, and when they removed it, most of us lost hope of this ever growing onto other powers. But now our hope is restored! It doesn't have anything to do with just the Fortune buff. At least not for me and people I know who enjoy the prompt.

Now, all you have to worry about is having that pop-up message come up while you're trying to input a bid on WW/BM.

And you KNOW how unstable WW/BM is right now.

To be quite honest, having that popup show up in the middle of making a bid is a bazillion times more annoying than having a drive-by buff. I'm busy shopping, damn it!

The fix: an option with three selections, on, off and auto. On you get prompted to say yes or no for *every ST buff*, off is the exact opposite (denying by default, basically you never accept buffs), and auto is the one most people will use where it'll automatically accept and not prompt you.

I can't see a valid reason to have a prompt to accept buffs, or to never accept any buffs, but there's probably a few players who would complain. Every player will use one of the options, because there's no player who wouldn't fit into such an idea.

But people will probably complain that this is a bad idea and that we haven't implemented pink ponies or rainbows, and that is a priority.

And that's perfectly fine. The prompt as is, though, is just dumb, inconsistent and annoying.

I find it funny how I've received anonymous comments for my post, detailing how Mystic Fortune is different than other powers, calling me a "whiner" and telling me to "cry more".

See... I'm not the one complaining here. I'm happy and thanked the developers for the change. That means no crying... and no whining.
I just was responding with logic about how a 20 minute power is different than a 2-4 minute one. Among other differences.

If you want to point out anything to contradict what I've said, reply. Send me a PM if you feel the need.
Anonymous attempts at rather misguided insults are quite a sad way to handle your own issues with changes that the developers are making to the game.

Heehee...

It is. But you can't blame the pro-prompt people for supporting it because of the whole "It's better than nothing!" philosophy. xD

You didn't get the memo? They're very exclusive and only a select few have those powersets. I have mine, what's your excuse?

Actually I can blame them for that, because it's not.

I actually use "I play with smart people who ask" philosophy, still it's sad that some people make something good turn out bad.

I'm with him. I was so freaking happy when you removed this prompt. Now, rather obviously, I'm really freaking annoyed that you're putting it back. Why can't it be optional?

Your combat log tells you who reads your fortune. You don't need the prompt to know.

I hate to derail this thrilling debate, but does anyone know if this patch went live with maintenance this morning? I'm really looking forward to several of the fixes listed.

Yeah, yeah, I can just wait until I get home and see if I get a patch but thought I'd ask and see if anyone already knows.

It's not live yet.

This is what the Mystic Fortune Buff feels like to me:

I despise having something pop up in the middle of my screen while I'm trying to shoot stuff.

*EDIT* Is there anyway, from anyone Dev or player, that I can make my game NOT get that popup to occur. I don't care whether I do or don't get the buff. I simply don't want that damn window on my screen. I'd rather not have to do something everytime I login and I don't want to make a button to spam in local "don't fortune me".

Surely, there's some way to get rid of this damn window. I know there is... its on live now.
