Lady Jane stealth patch

Looks like Lady Jane was stealth patched in issue 17 - she now cons with Elite Boss-class health, though her attacks are about as powerful as a minion-class enemy.

So when will she be upgraded to have Dual Pistols powerset rather than Thugs Mastermind Dual Pistols?

Rather more importantly, when will she be upgraded to not aggro the world? It's really annoying trying to look after her when she's always chasing invisible ghosts into other spawns or decides she's close enough to other enemies so she may as well attack them. Even as an Elite Boss, she's hard to keep alive.

She is?

Skip past her spawn using stealth, teleport, superspeed, or just 'tank stealth' (run past and ignore her spawn), clear the rest of the map, come back, grab her, escort to objective, done.

I've not had a problem keeping her alive solo or on small-medium teams. Large teams increase the chances of someone not leaving her spawn alive and thus taking her off the leash. At that point, all bets are off

People actually try to keep her alive? o.O

Meh. I'd rather that the mission allowed you to work as it's text reads, rather than explicitly avoiding doing what it says. She really should be a defensive pet, not a aggressive one.

I'm getting kind of tired of the stealth patches, the latest was this and the stealth patch to raise the number of open major story arcs to five from two. I wish they could see fit to clue us in on these things in the patch notes.

I thought stealth nerfs were bad, but stealth buffs were nice surprises?

I usually manage to do this mission as written. Kill her spawn, back up a bit to get away from the next group. Destroy some ambushes as they come in. Then move on. I always pull the next spawn to me - Jane never seems to run off ahead when I do it that way.

That's basically the only way to keep Lady Grey alive in her respective escort mission, but I don't consider that one anything less than completely broken, even after her hit points were raised above those of a lieutenant. Any time you have to circumvent intended design and you have to actually DREAD rescuing the person you were sent to rescue, that's bad design in its purest form. It shouldn't be like this.

It's kind of like Yahtzee's review of Resident Evil 5 and his tales of how he ran away from his partner brandishing an expensive large herb with more terror than he felt from any of the monsters. When you're more afraid of completing the game's objectives than you are of facing the game's enemies, something is seriously wrong.

You must overcome your fears, yong Samuel, if you wish to truly become one with the game.

My biggest fear is damaging my expensive hardware, my desk, or possibly my the bones in my hand, really.

All you do is rescue here, wait... (thats the important bit) kill the 5 ambushes and then move on. Not too hard, mostly failed due to team members not listening.

Actually, I am pretty certain Lady Jane, Fusionette, Lady Gray, and Pitbull all attended the General Aarons School of Suicidal Heroic Acts.

I think one of the biggest problems here is after you rescue her, she won't shut the **** up, and takes way too long to actually start following you. Quite often, by the time she shuts up, the first ambush is there and pounding on you and your team. And heaven help you if you are at the right level for Spectrals to spawn in CoT missions... If she locks onto one and it then ooooooOOOOOOOOOoooooooos away, it is most likely "Game over, man!"

The ambushes are not the problem. Her propensity to aggro a second spawn mid-way through the fight with the previous one is what often got her, and now gets me, killed.

Funny, I have no such issues with Lady Grey and Pitbull. Lady Grey can self-heal and Pitbull is a pure Tank and can survive throughout the mission (in my experience, if I solo it) even without healing.

Jane and Fusionette are problem children though.

Lady Grey is fighting Rogue Vanguard that can melt Tankers, however. Last time I tried it, they were basically destroying her from full health in under five seconds. And keep in mind certain ambushes, like the one by Ning and Skun, err... I mean by Nin and Skung.

"Mission Updates
Players can now have 7 active missions, instead of just 3."

Am I missing something?

Niece and Aunt, actually, and General Arrons is the Grandfather/father to the two of them.

Ironically, Fusionette is the best armed out of all of them

She's talking about the major story arcs, not missions. You know, the ones marked on your contact list with little books. It used to be that you could only have 2 major story arcs open at a time, if you had two open you could never get any more. This caused all sorts of grief and trouble.

Apparently, you can now have 5 major story arcs open at once. Which is nice. But it was a stealth update that was never mentioned anywhere.

I know! I got a raise without warning and then today got extra chicken tenders with my meal without the waitress giving me a heads-up! It's aggravating!

/signed LOL I have used the tactic countless times to solo that mission with excellent results. In some cases, with my tanks, I have even been able to lure the mob protecting her away and defeated them. At that point she's technically rescued and you get a direction for where the box is located but until you get close to her she doesn't move and no ambush spawns. Then I just clear a nice path all the way to mission end and the worst I have to do is stand there listening to her babble before she'll actually follow me to the end.

I've seen another tactic that works well when teaming. We freed her but instead of moving forward we stood fast and waited on the eventual ambushes. Now unlike many mission she spawn five not three, just to continue to annoy you I suppose, but once those were all taken out we were able to simply leave the one team member she'd attached herself to at that spot and the rest of us cleared the way to the end of the mission. Once the path was clear the person watching her led her to the box and .. Mission complete. That one takes a little longer since the ambushes come from deep within the caves but if your team has the time and likes the idea of extra XP and INF it works great.
