No Auction House, So How to Store Recipes?
I've heard rumors that AH is back up, but I haven't tried it. You might want to check in-game.
I mule them over to characters I'm not playing atm. Or I craft them if I have the salvage handy and stick it in my SG base.
Figures that on the one weekend I have loads of game time the market goes off line

How are folks handling storage space while the market is down? And is there any chance we can get alternative storage space for recipes in the future?

This might be a great time to petition the devs for some sort of alternative storage space, seeing how the market being down has had to have inconvienced (sp?) a lot of folks.
Why don't you mail them to yourself?

YUMMY Low-Hanging Fruit for BASE LUV

Im doing fine..if i get any recipe drops...i dont craft them and save them in my recipe box

It (mail) seems to be tied to the chat server, which has been up and down. I was using it to IO out a level 23 toon. (Normally I'd not only have the market available, I'd be able to run the game on both of my computers, but one isn't working.)
Anyway... e-mailed a bunch of IOs to my lowbie. Logged her in, collected them. Went back to my level 50, turned in tickets to get the salvage I needed to craft some other IOs, and I sent off 6 luck charms, 6 ancient artifacts, and 6 rune armors... and I realized after I started that I wasn't seeing the e-mails pop up immediately, but I continued anyway. "They'l show up eventually, they won't get lost," I told myself.
Well, they DID get lost. The chat server was down. When it came back up, I had mail... but it was the IOs I'd sent previously, so I got duplicates of those. (Which unfortunately were level 25 accuracy and damage IOs and 1 level 20 recharge IO, why couldn't it have been a few Luck of the Gambler recharges? ). The salvage all disappeared. I didn't report it because it was kind of a wash anyway, not a huge loss and I got something else twice.
I also saw someone report that they accidentally hit "spam" when trying to claim the stuff they'd sent themselves, and it all vanished. When you open up e-mail those buttons are often right on top of each other (for me, until I expand my mail window). Not a good design decision.
Anyway I managed to IO out one toon with generic IOs, but I wouldn't trust the mail system for other stuff right now.

Q: How do you wreck an Abrams?
A: You crash into another one.

If not, then yeah... e-mail system didn't work. I haven't had any issues with it yet myself, even though I have sent a bunch of stuff between characters.

At the time that I am writing this post, it is about 6:30 AM PDT. Assuming work at Paragon Studios starts at 9 AM, in about 2 and a half hours the senior support staff is going to sit down, start work, and discover approximately eleventy billion support tickets due to lost email attachments.
In about 3 hours, the programmer who did not fully consider and test the failure mode for emails with attachments when the global chat server is overloaded (as happens virtually every time live server population is high, such as, for instance, every new issue release) will be dragged out into the parking lot and hit with sticks by the senior support staff.
Well, probably not really. But that programmer is going to get some strongly worded messages.
To be on topic: I've been running AE arcs over the weekend. Tickets are easier to store than standard drops.

Did you delete your original e-mails? There is an e-mail cap on your box now, so if you didn't do that, the subsequent e-mails may have not gotten there because of the cap.

"But in our enthusiasm, we could not resist a radical overhaul of the system, in which all of its major weaknesses have been exposed, analyzed, and replaced with new weaknesses."

I tested it myself with a trash piece of salvage and never recieved the email.
How to deal with it, my way:
Step 1: Sell any commons I don't care about.
Step 2: Sell any sets that typically get vendored (yay, calibrated accuracy.)
Step 3: Make any Set IOs that I can. Put in SG storage.
Admittedly we have some "common access" salvage, and I can dual box (slowly - frigging ATI card dying on the other machine) to trade some other salvage off. But I don't see why some of this isn't just being made and stored - even if you want to sell it later, crafted IOs seem to always sell for more anyway.
I'm going to assume from your post that you are unaware that the email system is on the fritz as well and we haven't been able to send anything with attachments to ourselves.

e-mailed myself several inspirations as well.
I'm getting some GREAT recipe drops that I'd love to craft later but I've nowhere to store them except on my toon's person - and now that's maxed out. I know I could email myself each one - one at a time - but that's time-consuming and laborious. I don't want to sell 'em either but as one toon is capped out now, I'm losing the ability to pick up new recipes.
