Super Booster Pack: Arabian Nights

Please something that covers both Arabian and Egytian themes

somebody's got a bit of an anger problem, neh?

I'm in for Arabian, Egyptian or Victorian (not just regular clothes, but stuff that looks like it's out of Gotham By Gaslight, right?). Also Western (cowboy).

Anime? Eh, I wouldn't buy it, but it'd probably sell like crazy.

This is a very good Idea for a costume Set, good Job Dude.

I think we've already had our Anime contribution to the game with the young asian faces and the shoulder kittens, etc.

given the current market share of manga in the comic industry, i think that we can spare a bit more influence than just a few costume bits and gender locked shoulder options. the stylization is a valid possibility for aesthetic influence, but just making an "anime" pack would likely be significantly limited and miss a lot of what the hardcore fans would have in mind. the arabian nights theme, while it may not be the most culturally accurate representation, would likely be able to be addressed well in a pack without too many wallbanger exclusions.

Some kind of Snake Charmer power?

Or just call it [Charmer] to avoid confusion with actual Snakes.

Either a Single Target Hold, Sleep, or Confuse? Same kind of cooldown as the Mission TP.

Or just have a snake charming emote.

Of course, you could always have a [Summon Snake] temp power... Just make sure it's a regular Snake Lt. and not an Elder Viper Assassin!

Wrist capes that aren't attached to the shoulders could be fun.

And of course jewellery details (big bangles, anklets, etc)

I bet this pack would end up being hotter than hot in a lot of good ways...

I'd really like an Arabian/Egyptian themed Booster. Nice place to introduce some more animal heads too (for Egyptian Gods) especially if they have optional textures like marble and high tech.

I know its a departure from the core spandex theme of the game, but one of CoX's strengths is that it supports multiple genres. We have medieveal weapons and steampunk pieces and so on, so that players can choose to make characters beyond the standard Marvel/DC spectrum.

Choice is good.

Love the concept, having theme based packs is actually a good idea. This way we can generate new alts and have access to new costumes, powers and what not with out being subject to unlock features based on level.

An Arabian costume set would be cool. My Djinn character would certainly appreciate it. But it's not worthy of a Booster. I think flying carpets would be better suited as part of a larger Power Pool customization.

And...an Anime pack...

No.

There are enough generic anime ripoffs running around CoX. Please, for the love of God, stop ruining the genre. Some of us anime fans take it in moderation, but rabid fan-freaks ruin our reputation. If I see another hero/villian with a name taken out of an online Japanese/English dictionary, I swear I'm gonna do something relatively unpleasant.

I wouldnt be against the idea but I do think its an area that is a bit risky, the game was designed on western comics not eastern ones plus having cartoon style faces and stuff wandering around would kinda ruin the realism.

That being said there are certain anime stuff that wouldnt look bad in game when it comes to hairstyles and costumes etc if it was done tastefully.

Back on topic though, I agree that its a nice idea, I just couldnt see many people spending cash on it, plus having everyone around on flying carpets would get tedious very quickly.
