Was the Omega Team a Hoax?

This large group of magical heros who no one ever heard of comes from nowhere and leaves behind no widows no widowers and no offspring? Today is the perfect day for debunking the myth that the Omega Team helped save the world.

1) Travel to the Rikti portal is impossible because of the Van Allen radiation belts, solar flares, solar wind, coronal mass ejections, and cosmic rays make travelling there impossible even for so-called heroes

2) Its easy with trick photography to film yourself punching some guys dressed up as "Rikti"

Why would Paragon City fake an Omega Team mission?

Paragon City had problems and this distraction took citizens minds off the problems with costumed criminals.Paragon City benefitted with prestige for foiling an alien assault giving it an achievement dwarfing those of other cities like Freson, Dayton,Aldershot,Widnes, or Mexico City. Paragon City also raised a large some of money to finance Vanguard. This money supposedly went for superpowered troops but these troops are nowhere to be found. This money was more than likely spent by Ladt Gray on Light Beer and Nachos. Also Paragon City benefitted by delivering on a promise to defeat the Aliens when no proof exists they ever were defeated.

Known Issues with the "Omega Team" Incident

There are no known blueprints of any hero gadgets or "magical artifiacts" used in the Omega Missions

Every Hero or Heroine has a Battle Cry but no one knows of any Battle Cry from this "Omega Team"

Why wouldn't the wounded be teleported to the hospitals

Rikti Portals were known to attract farmers yet no member of Omega team has a pitch fork or wears blue jeans

Bill Nemesis Automaton's Book "We Never Went to the Rikti Portal: Paragon City's Thirty Billion Influence Swindle" showed the total magical power of the Omega team as only enough power to get to the Pocket D and not nearly enough to travel to an alternate world

There are no images of the landing site showing the Omega team

The "Rikti Landing Zone" is supposed to be dangerous but there is not a single fleeing civilian.

The Author of Lumières sur la Rikti Homeworld showed that one could dress up the Infected in costumes and stage an Alien attack

Many Scientists claim the problem is not getting to the Rikti Portal Area but getting heroes there. Without a single car or truck to drive how did they get to the Portal? There is no tram stop nearby.

Science Accomplishments that took Jules Verne years to write up were solved by this so-called Mr Science in only weeks.

Rikti Monkeys are believed to be clockwork forced to wear monkey suits and to throw poo specially made by Crey Scientists

The "disappearance" of the Omega Team conveniently gets rid of most witnesses to the Omega team mission. All the missing heros conveniently belonged to the Alpha or Omega team.

Heros supposedly went to this Rikti world but there is no mention of Rikti hating PvP, Surely exposure to so many heroes would cause them to assimilate some of the hatred of PvP

With evidence like this surely the citizens of Paragon can only wonder if the Omega Team was real or some sinister cover up.

Wait! I'd like to step forward now after all these years to tell the truth as to what really happened! I have the evidence to prove it really happened!

They told me to stay away. They told me I'd get shot down. They told me not to mess with their reputation...

Statesman sexually assaulted me in 2005!

What? Wrong case?

*Backs away slowly*

I'll just.. I'll just use this back exit here...

Yeah, that pretty much ends any potential the thread might have had right there.

What, is "It's a Nemesis plot!" the new Kill Skuls?

OP, that fits right in with many of our regular political activists in real life.

I'm gonna guess the moon landing.

Edit: specifically that the moon landing was filmed on a sound stage.

It is like Linus's blanket, and wants to get back to him.

Originally, the Omega Team gambit was intended to be a trick, where several heroes were going to fake a short mission to the Rikti World and back, but instead would sneak off to Vegas for the weekend, unbeknownst to thier girlfriends/wives. But a few too many people got involved in the scam, Statesman heard about an idea to strike the Rikti in thier homeworld, and it all snowballed into a suicide mission instead.

Sooo Las Vegas is the Rikti Homeworld?
